Funny, I use my Max all day, everyday. I've never had a battery go dead. Sounds like you just prefer android phones. Choice is a wonderful thing. Be well.
Read my posts. You’re like the 4th person to immediately think that because I said something positive about Android that I prefer it. I have said many times I prefer iOS, but Apple doesn’t make a phone that lasts as long as literally dozens of other Android phones. I don’t want a battery case, I want a 4000+mah iPhone. That’s all.

It’s not user error, it’s simply a user challenging their favorite phone maker to do better as the others are already doing it to, nothing wrong with that.

Hopefully they do that and add bigger batteries going forward, we want to see progression in Battery Life as we get newer devices.
Exactly this. Too many folks on here think anyone who critiques Apple need to be put in their place. Sorry if my $250 phone lasts twice as long as my Wife’s $1000 iPhone. That doesn’t mean I should just give up on iOS, it means Apple should give us more for our money.

Since there are no such iPhone's, you can get Android. that's all.

My Xs Max lasts 3 days. I don't know if I could get a $250 Android phone to do the same, even if I tried. But hey, making statements like that are designed to slap the face of those who bought the $1000 iPhone, lol. So I'd expect a little reaction out of that. :p

Hey, doesn't bother me :). Well, I guess it bothered me enough to write this post, damnit...

I REALLY hope we have some serious battery technology breakthroughs in the next 3 years. Regardless of what happens, I'm keeping this Xs MAX for at least another two years.

Yeah, there seems to be a deep need to defend Apple, yet we could all gain from increased battery size.

I personally like you am enjoying iOS and loving my iPhone XS Max, the battery is good, but I am not afraid to admit that it could be better and that there are competitors that already have this.

Anyway this is a lot like the arguments people made when people asked for iPhones with bigger displays than 3.5inch of the iPhone 4S peeps claimed they are perfectly fine with their puny 3.5inch display, yet it seems the larger Plus and Max models are more popular these days, funny that.

I’ve long watched and taken note of how things work in Apple land I believe Apple will make a bigger battery iPhone at some point and the same people who are going on about getting Battery Cases and Powerbanks will realize how amazing it is when you can heavily use your iPhone (GPS +Camera +Calls +YouTube) and still go to bed with 65% battery. Apple will not allow themselves to be beaten so much in such a crucial area, we just have to be patient.

I don’t think what you are saying is dumb.

But I can tell you I do not want a thicker or heavier phone.

My battery life isn’t as good as I would like it to be, but my iPhone X is already heavy and thick enough especially with a case.

Thinner and lighter. I prefer this to be the direction Apple goes in from here.

For me personally, I charge when I’m at my computer, use a car charger, and charge at night.

With fast charge capability, I get plenty of battery fairly quickly and I’m good to go. And that’s using an iPad charger.

Should apple make a “pro” model with more battery and what not? Sure.

I’m all for more options.

But I would not be interested. I do understand others would. I’m just speaking from my own perspective.

If you have some extra time, check out the Moto G7 power. Available unlocked for $250. 6.2” screen (nearly identical to xr) and a 5000mah battery. It’s the #3 all time phone in the gsmarena battery longevity test. It’s a budget phone, though. Horrible camera, 3gb of ram and the 720p lcd screen are the main cons.

I suggest using a XR before making a final conclusion on the battery life.
A spec sheet on a website will never give you a true sense of what the phone is actually capable of. You have 14 days to return it.

The iPhone XR endurance rating is just average. Standby drain is top notch, but if someone was to sit down and use their phone from 100-0, apple has no answer compared to Android phones. As I have said before, I enjoy my iPhone more than any Android phone I’ve used. But look at all these phones above that last longer than the Xr. There are more, but I figured only showing the first 2 pages would suffice.

A lot of people reply how their phone lasts them 2 days and that’s all they need. There is obviously a market for phones that have great longevity. The xr is just plain lacking when it comes down to it. I don’t want to have a secondary Android anymore, but Apple just doesn’t make a phone that allows me to live charger-free like Android does.

GSMarena tests are good and all, but they are inflated by the 3G talk time. If you use the custom slider to minimize talk time and max out web browsing and video playback. XR scores 1 hour more compared to the S10+ (exynos variant) - and considering stand by is better on XR, I think it's a huge win.

Hi OP, not sure if you have wifi at work but if you do and you are not intending to play any games on you iPhone, the XR might possibly last through the work day for you.

Below attached is an image of the battery usage on my iPhone XR, if I remember correctly I might have been home bound on that day so fully on wifi throughout the day. Slightly less than 50% left(guessing around 47%), when I was putting it to charge for the night, after 10hrs of usage.

With some mix of LTE usage. About 17% left give or take, 13 hours of usage.

Battery does take a hit if you intend to play games though. This is with 2 and a half hours of gaming, some LTE usage.

The XR is massively improved over my last iPhone which is the 7 Plus, in every conceivable way. Especially in terms of battery life and sustained performance for gaming.

I do hope you find a solution to the problem. At this point, it would not make sense to buy an XR, as the new iPhones would probably be out in slightly more than 3 months.

But if Apple continues to focus on the same things for the next XR as they did with this one, I think you are in for a treat.

WOW... holey usage batman! If this isn't proof that the Xr or Xs MAX should last most people over a day of heavy usage, not sure what is. Thanks for taking the time to do this post.

Of course it does.

Don’t think he was talking about the 2018 iPhone XS Max, op said he was using a 2017 iPhone 8 plus and a 2019 Motorola g7 power.

Not very fair to compare a 2019 budget android phone with a large new battery and a 720p display to a 2017 Flagship iPhone with a 1080p display and a two year old battery.

Don’t know what the op was expecting.

I want a date with Mila Kunis. We don't always get what we want.

Get a battery case or get android.
