Makes me sad that Apple hasn't used Siri to it's full potential. I really think they can do more. give devs the ability to tap into Siri apis and do something really useful.

I remember back in 2011 seeing it, was really innovative, then G'Now just got better and better.

Maybe they should just copy the way Google did G'Now with a card ui for showing useful POI and Integration with the Web.

Is anyone still using it?

All the time. All the time.
Seri is Very convenient. I text using Siri multiple times every day. She also calls several of my contacts for me daily. Although those are my main uses for her (the female voice) there are others than it use routinely.

I hardly use Siri, it's boring and doesn't always understand. I turned it off in the lock screen so it wouldn't turn on in my pocket all the time. I don't use it for much, I just use it to say "call Bob" or other people instead of searching my contacts. I think I used Siri to find out what Pizza Hut's phone number was a few days ago.

It's boring? What does that even mean? I'm not sure what you were expecting from Siri, but I never viewed the feature as a form of entertainment.

Not once since the day I got my phone when I was trying it out. I hate talking to my phone and theres nothing I want her to do.

I use Siri on my iPad all the time. And if I had her on my phone I would be using here every hour. Siri send this. Siri open that. Siri what's this. Siri. Siri Siri. She would sue me for virtual assistant abuse.

Really? Are you going to really be technical just to argue about absolutely nothing? Just to troll. I'd expect a bit more functionality from Siri. Your right, I don't use Siri as a form of entertainment, who does, it isn't entertaining. But something doesn't have to be a form of entertainment to be fun or boring. Work isn't always fun, mostly working a job is BORING. Jobs aren't suppose to be a form of entertainment, but with your logic, you seem to find jobs entertaining.

I do not use it, it is slow and clumsy and I have to end up typing stuff any way.

It works for basic things like calling someone but that is it. I haven't use it in a year except when I am bored and I start to ask her stupid things to see the results.

You clearly suggested that Siri was "boring" as a criticism of the feature. It was a pretty silly objection from what I read so I asked if you could explain what you meant by it. I'm not saying it's not boring, I just don't understand how "boring" qualifies as a legitimate criticism of the feature.

I use Siri all the time. I don't get the boring part. I use it mostly while in the car with a Bluetooth head kit, so I never have to touch the phone.

iMessage, and phonecalls are boring too :)
I think he probably means that it's a non-exciting, kinda mundane and unnecessary feature which was supposed to revolutionise the way we use our mobiles. I forget it's even there.

I use Siri pretty much every day. Works fine.

Me to. She's an ace for reminders, quick weather updates, calling people and texting. Web searches also.

She does ok with calendar operations (adding, moving and checking events). She botches them from time to time but overall she does all right.

I do at least one of these things everyday.

I don't use Siri as much since I got my new car, Ford Focus. I can use it to make calls, but I still use Siri for texting since the iPhone is not compatible with Ford Sync for messaging.

Siri works perfectly fine for me. Use it several times a day.

Same here. Siri and Maps work fine for me both when I was on the east coast and now that I'm living in Arizona again.

I suppose both suck if you're located in an area which is missing data or there is a language/dialect issue.

i use it to check sports scores fairly often, and also to set reminders, and thats not very often. other than that, i maybe ask siri once or twice a week how he weather is. so yes, i still use it fairly often.

i actually only now noticed that i havent even had it enabled since i got my iPhone 5 lolol

i used to have it on my iPhone 4S but the only time i really used it was when i hit that damn siri button on the keyboard by mistake (usually happened during class of course)

i just dont like to "think" of what i want to say so i just do it myself. same reason i still use the remote instead of xbox voice. its simply more convinient to me

I never use Siri because it doesn't do what I really want it to:
  • Voice recognition doesn't always work for me
  • It doesn't let me to choose a calendar when creating appointments.
  • It doesn't integrate with 3rd party apps
  • it is not as intelligent and interactive as I would want it to be

True. Microsoft uses it's own non-standard protocol for messaging.

What isn't a standard about it? Or did you mean to say iMessage is not a standard and proprietary to Apple products?

Besides messaging isn't even the issue here. That generally works fine with Ford Sync. We are talking about Siri.
