Amazing this argument comes up over and over again. It's basically the same thing couched in different ways: why don't people like my Android variant as much as the iPhone? Why don't you just ask regular, non-forum people? You'll get your answer. Stop asking us, Apple-geeks, and you'll find out why. We tell you, but you don't believe it. I'll say it again, just to make sure it's obvious: the iPhone and its OS is nicer. That's it. There's not some cult-like mentality among people out there. They just like the iPhone because it's a nice phone and the OS is dead-simple to use. For whatever reason, that doesn't qualify as an answer to you Android fans.

Most of the things Android fans cite as major issues with iOS just aren't issues for normal people. Over-the-air syncing and updates? Who cares? Maybe it would be nice but it's seriously not a big deal. I'm on my computer *every* day, so connecting a device while I'm there is not going to upset me. Widgets? You all seem to think these are a huge deal but I've never seen one that even made me think "neat," let alone feel even slightly jealous. Animated backgrounds? No thank you - the screen is busy enough with all the apps.

The one thing that I can agree on is a better notification system, and I would guess most iPhone users would agree. I think it's coming in iOS 5, however. But as it is, it's not enough to make me even *think* about an Android phone. I think they're just awful, frankly. I love my iPhone, unapologetically.

+1.

I'm waiting for an Android fan to come around and trash your post and call you a fanboy, like they do to everyone else in this thread.

-------------------------

I personally have so many apps that I use multiple times an HOUR that I could never go a day without. THAT alone is enough of a reason for me to say the iPhone is better. I don't know what I would do if I had to use an Android device without my daily most used apps.

The one thing I don't understand is why are Android fanboys even in the iPhone section? Why wouldn't you go post a thread about how the iPhone sucks on an Android forum? You would get the praise you're looking for, and that should make yourself feel better about the device you own. You're not getting it here, so you start trashing everyone's posts because they don't agree with you...

Again..Subjective...

No it's not. It's called reality.
- Exchange email sucks. No push, stops working, clunky.

Exchange push works fine, in fact the galaxy S2 sports more exchange features than the iphone does.

- User interface lags. Not smooth at all.

The user interface on my phone is very smooth and doesn't lag a bit.

- Apps crash constantly, requiring the phone to be rebooted.

Not only apps don't crash constantly as you seem to imply, but should it happen you can kill the app with the android built in task manager instead of rebooting your phone... In fact on my nexus one (which was nowhere as good as my galaxy s2 is) I had over a month of uptime without rebooting my handset (until I had to swap my SD card and thus take off the battery)

- Phone just freezes, and nothing works. Again, reboot.

Same as the above, it doesn't freeze, everything works just fine, and no need to reboot anything.

- Music synching, libraries are all clunky.

Not only it works flawlessly but I don't have to use itunes which happens to lag on windows like there's no tomorrow when you hook it up to an iphone.
Not to mention music players such as poweramp with a full equalizer are better than the integrated ipod app on the iphone, not like you can really install alternatives on your "outstanding" idevice can you ?

- Interface is inconsistent.

Care to enlight me as to how the interface happens to be inconsistent ?

By the way the android interface is a lot better, we actually do have widgets here (among other things...), not to mention it's actually updated, unlike the iOS one which has more or less been the same for the past 3 years.

These are MY VIEWS. This is what I think of Android, and the handsets I've used [One an HTC Desire, the other a Inspire]. One had Sense, the other was using a 3rd party launcher.

Odd, I have had a nexus one, I now have a Galaxy S2 and I haven't experienced any of the issues you mentioned above.... Go to xda and ask any android users what they think of their handsets...

Based on all that, my experience, with 2 different models of phones were bad. Therefore, this is fact based on my experience, so everyone needs to listen to me. Right?

Based on the "issues" you've described above, I wouldn't say you've had much experience with recent android devices at all...

Why are you trying to defend the device so much? Is it really bothering you that much that the majority of people on an iPhone sub-forum would dislike an Android device? Is that really that much of a surprise to you? You originally posted absurd 'facts' about your device, and now you're getting responses to your original post. Stop trying to trash people for disliking the phone.

Subjective:
1 based on or influenced by personal feelings, tastes, or opinions : his views are highly subjective | there is always the danger of making a subjective judgment. Contrasted with objective .

You need to learn this...

Actually, you're wrong on the Exchange piece as well. Someone here has the SII, and unless you use a 3rd party app, it's crap.

the SGS2 handles Exchange and SAP (Sybase) out of the box, you don't even know what you're talking about.

He's a kid, from France. Says it all.

He got this phone, and is now trying to justify, or convince himself he did the right thing. That's how Android Fanboys get. It bothers them that no one shares the same views as them.

His biggest problem is that he's taking his opinions, and siting them as fact. Which by definition is subjective. He doesn't like that answer, so he argues.

I am trying to enlight you and making you see that the iphone isn't what it once was. Looks like doing it on a forum full of Apple fanboys is just not going to work.

I am done trying. Test the device and see for yourself (if you are not too narrow minded to even do that)

And no, I am no kid.

Actually, I do. And the support it has for Exchange out of the box is limited. That's fact, I've set it up for the person. As have others here. So...yes, I do know what I'm talking about.

Put the pamphlet down, and use real world experience for your arguments. Just because is it's in the "Readme" doesn't mean it's true..LOL

I do, I am using exchange RIGHT NOW. You aren't even capable of telling me what's limited about it to begin with.

I am done trying to convince you and get you to open your eyes, posting on this forum was a waste of my time.

No, I think the previous poster is right. It seems you're trying to convince yourself that you made the correct purchase. Or you wouldn't care what a bunch of 'Apple fanboys' thought about your crappy device.

If you're no kid, then you have no life. OR, you have the mentality of a 16 year old. Either way, you come off as a fool.

I don't need to be enlightened. If you're trying to "enlighten" someone, then state how you have an Android phone, enjoy it, and explain the things you think are good, or beneficial. Rather than bashing another product, and saying how inferior it is based on subjective comments. Again, your tests, and what you read in a readme file isn't fact. It's what you think is fact...

I said Exchange was clunky, and didn't work well. The SII we had here didn't work ANY better than the other Android handsets we had, and required us to use a 3rd party app for it to work "consistently". Out of the box, it did what the others did, and what I posted; stopped working, was clunky. That's MY Fact..therefore, based on your logic, it's true...no?

LOL! I really did LOL on that...How true!

But he's not upset...he's trying to "Enlighten" us...didn't you see that in his post? It had enlighten written all over it.

I am here to tell you that you failed to enlighten anybody who read through the 7 pages of this thread...

Just move on with your life and let the rest of us enjoy the iPhone :)

I found his post hilarious! His 'enlightenment' involved bashing something else because they didn't agree with his half-witted posts. :D

Where is he? Did we scare him off???

Bueller!? Bueller?!

As I've said, I am wasting my time posting here, this will be my last post on this forum.

By the way, you remind me of a guy I've been arguing with a few months ago who claimed that his stock Apple iphone's earphones were better and had better sound quality than the klipsch S4i, all because they were sold by... Apple.

Figures...

thanks for your enlightenment. You did enlighten me, I now understand how angry some people can get if others dont agree with them.

So what if android is better, so what if you samsung has better specs, so what!!!! If I am happy with my iPhone then why cant i just be happy with it and you leave me alone. I am not trying to get you to believe iphone is better. so what is this driving need in you to force your "Opinion" about a device down others throats.

I hope this is the last post you make here, because I dont come to this place to listen to people like you bash something i enjoy. go back to the android forums and congratulate each other on having a 4" DI**splay.

BTW, who appointed you android ambassador to appleland? we didn't, so go back where you came from.

to everyone else, these people do this just to stir us up and they know we will bite. I know its hard but if we just ignored these people and let their threads fade into oblivion they would stop. easier said than done as i got sucked into this one as well.

Widgets? You all seem to think these are a huge deal but I've never seen one that even made me think "neat," let alone feel even slightly jealous. Animated backgrounds? No thank you - the screen is busy enough with all the apps.

I gotta say widgets and animated backgrounds do seem neat to me. But, honestly, neat as in gimmicky. I'd probably be amused and not complain if my phone had them, but they are not what I'm going to buy a phone over. If my phone has them, great. If not, I don't really care all that much to tell the truth. They aren't a make or break deal for me.

What is a make or break deal is (in no particular order)
* size (it's gotta be portable, it's a phone plus I don't want to be holding a huge slab to my ear so honestly, Android phones having a 4" + screen is a negative to me)
* availability of apps (This is very important, it's what makes the iphone useful imho. Android is getting there I hear but it seems there is still more support for the iphone. Squaresoft for example puts out there stuff on the iphone first)
* works smoothly and doesn't crash a lot (I expect my phone to act more like a phone in reliability than a glitchy computer. Call me spoiled cause I'm used to dumbphones but if my iphone crashed a lot that would be a serious disappointment. Even though I know it's more like a computer than my previous dumbphones). Can't really compare to Android, never had one.
* GPS (iPhone 4's is awesome :). ONce again, having no Android phone, I can't compare to Android and never bothered to test the function on any store phones
* Decent camera/video (ironically I didn't care about this until I got my 3G which didn't have a great camera but since it was everywhere with me and it was easy to view the pics I got and get them off, unlike my previous dumb phone, I used it a lot as one so this became important). The only Android I tried at the store for camera, the EVO, honestly the camera totally did not impress me. For one the shutter took to long to actually take a picture (by the time it took the picture, things moved and it wasn't what I was trying to get).
* Battery life (can't compare to Android as I don't have one)
* And at this point, Apple has a huge advantage, I'm already locked into their ecosystem (I've bought a ton of apps and I do have a decent amount of itunes from when they were DRM). To get me to change honestly would have to be Apple ******** up the iphone at the point the 4 is just so old it has a hard time running the current software (I'm pretty happy with it so I don't care about what extras Android could offer me enough to have to rebuy all my apps)

The only two things I even really want to see improved in the next iphone I buy is speed (cause by then the 4 will be slow) and storage space (and of course I won't complain about an even better battery).

All these Android fanboys beating down iTunes, what is wrong with iTunes? It doesnt lag, it doesnt freeze up and it manages everything nicely. If it is freezing and lagging then maybe you should run it on that big bad hummingbird or snapdragon or whatever the hell your trying to pass off as sooo amazingly fast...

But in the meantime, have fun managing your music in folders or whatever the hell you google fanboys use.

that android guy is like an annoying christian (not generally though) who knocks your door at 6 am and gives you a church pamphlet, forcing you to join them or you'll burn in hell's flame.
