... I plug my S7 Edge into my computer all the time and copy files to and from it. I need iTunes to do that on an iPhone huh? Ugh.

I used to be able to plug my iPhone into the computer and copy just the photos off it like it was a camera card.

They got rid of that feature for who knows what stupid reason. Now the only way to get them off seems to be importing them into iPhoto, which is especially annoying since I use my Windows PC for photo editing+storage.

Gotta love those permanent/arm-twist iOS updates.

Nice deflection on "90% of cellphones".

So which phones are actually better than the iPhone X and give us the price of said phone.

iPhone x doesn't exist until 12 hours and 44 minutes from now so I can't answer that question to a device that doesn't even exist yet. and thanks on the overly obvious non deflection comment I made

You are an unworthy opponent.

Awh, that's the sweetest thing a man has ever said to me.

I don't understand the internet crusaders who spend their time preaching how superior their choice of product is and insulting those who choose a competitors product. Who gives a crap if people prefer iOS? Is it affecting your enjoyment of your Android device?

Ok so tell us which current iPhone Apple "overcharges" for and compared to what. You made a statement that Apple was "overcharging". Now you are back tracking saying you don't know the price of the X. So which is it?

Software hasn’t matured, most of the user base has. I don’t know how many conferences I’ve been to in the past 3 years as a developer where the hot topic was lack of approvals by Apple to make IOS enhanced. You simply cannot get your application extensions passed by Apple if it hooks into a main OS category. Yet you can build them in swift.. that’s the frustrating part. Developers can run circles around Apple and come up with some amazing additions to enhance the system or make things a little on the power user side.. but Apple doesn’t want that. They want all the control to the system and you can’t do much past that. This is one of the reasons why a lot of developers have given up on updating their older apps to x64. To many restrictions, can’t use certain API that would really take IOS to the next level. iPhone x is basically like in music a “best of” or greatest hits type release with a new song or two. Refinements yes.. but nothing we haven’t already seen before.. the hype is always going to be there until people stop paying for minor updates. And I’m one who firmly believes IOS updates should include power user features that require in app purchases to help push the system to the next level. They need to start seperating the new user from the power user. To many amazing developers out there leaving iOS.

Right. We live in a free society. People can discuss on this forum the way they see fit. Nothing wrong with what is going on here. Don't like it? Choose the forum you want then.

And we're done here, I was having fun but I refuse to acknowledge someone calling me out/a liar on something I haven't mentioned (price of the x). Good day.

As long as there is money to be made with iOS apps, developers aren't going to be leaving the platform en masse.

They already are, the real money is outside of iOS itself. Most developers know this. Selling an idea is always more profitable when you control the next move... doesn’t mean the app has to be made from it either.

I am not calling you out or calling you a liar. I just want facts behind statements. Have good night and I will see you here tomorrow to discuss the X price.

Honestly, that is exactly what it is. Or at least this many pages later that's how it starts to feel.

Nope. Because they simply don't care enough about OS wars. There is no inferiority complex.

Yea I never understood it. I choose iOS for a lot of reasons, but it's just my preference. Android could never achieve what I value in a platform, but I don't see a reason to go over to their forums and complain about it.

A lot of it seems to be an unhealthy hate for all things Apple. It's mind boggling to me.

I don't use Android devices and I've never visited an Android community to talk about how why I choose Apple products.

Just import them using the W10 photos app, works smoothly, no hassle at all, gives you options including sorting them into files by month etc - I keep my photos synced to my windows machine as storage is at a premium on macs due to the top end SSDs used.

The Apple Tax making the device $999 is abhorrent no matter if you like Android or iOS. Same with the Note 8 price.

Some folks that say "I'll pay whatever they ask" have a brand loyalty I cannot replicate. I am not shilling for Apple nor would I shill for other companies. I buy products that are best for me at the time I spend my $. If that's the iPhone X on a discount and trade in prompt through T-Mobile, then I'll do it. If that's the Note 8 BOGO, then I'll do that. Not spending more than $600 USD on a phone.

Think you are exaggerating things. Some may have a hate on I suppose, but many I suspect are like myself, those who are Android users currently and here to talk about the other side to see what we might want, going forward. Just because you've never visited an Android forum, doesn't mean no one else should visit other forums. Everyone is different and we don't have to be iPhone users to post on this site.

Quiet thread after the official announcement :) Face ID not working on stage LOL, and pre-ordering it is 6 weeks away WTF?

The LG V30 at $750 is looking like quite the nice flagship compared to the iPhone X at $1,000 base starting price, and Note 8 at $950.

For me the best phones this fall would be LG V30 rooted and custom TWRP running Lineage 15.0, that would be a nerds wet dream phone, or the iPhone 8 Plus for $799 with a stable untethered Jailbreak :)

Haha LG, not in this life :)

This type of stuff should be standard in iOS 11, especially with the introduction of the all new X model;

The 10 Best Reasons to Jailbreak iOS
http://www.iphonehacks.com/2017/02/best-reasons-to-jailbreak-ios-10.html

7 Reasons Why You Should Jailbreak Your iPhone
https://beebom.com/reasons-to-jailbreak-iphone/

Really? Is this the kind of stuff Android users mean when they talk about how iOS is SOOO Locked down and Android can do anything they want?

All I mostly see is that terrible scribble font that's hard to read. None of those excite me, and this is coming from someone who had loads of tweaks, both paid and free, on Palm OS and webOS years ago.

I would pick up the 8 Plus if a stable JB is out this Fall. I already have a stock Google phone, that I still use daily and love, but a JB iPhone is different and cool too.

I think the best of both worlds would be;

- Pixel 2 XL
- iPhone 8 Plus JB

People saying the apps are better on iOS, and I mean non Google apps. I don't know, the few non Google apps I use, I really see no difference between apps from Google or Apple. Yahoo Sports I use a lot, and between both phones, I see zero difference. Tumblr, Instagram, etc...really not a difference that I see. I will say the Google apps do almost seem a bit better on iOS as strange as that sounds.

But widgets are still way better on Google, not just the way they look, but stable wise the Widgets are rock solid with Google, whereas on the iPhone widgets don't always refresh properly for my on the 7 Plus I had in the Spring. And alerts for widgets just seems to work better with Google.

And don't get me started on Notifications overall, Oreo just does it miles ahead better than iOS 11.

Bottom line: if you like iOS with its efficiency, its simplicity and its integration the X brings the hardware Samsung and other high end Android owners have enjoyed the last couple of years to an iOS platform. Its the phone for iOS fans who've looked at Samsung and other phones and said "I wish my phone looked like that".

If you are not an iOS fan there is probably no need to consider the X. iOS 11 has some nice things for iPhone users but nothing that really changes the operating system.

It's probably safe to assume that people who buy iPhones probably like iOS. You are clearly not one of those people so the iPhone X isn't for you.

iPhone X Production Faces Further Delays

https://www.macrumors.com/2017/09/20/iphone-x-production-further-delays/

He says production is set to start in mid-October, later than earlier predictions. With additional delays, full production ramp up will be delayed into the December quarter.

While our checks are ongoing, initial feedback from our meetings suggests that final production of iPhone X has not yet begun, with production expected to commence in mid-October. That production start is a month later when compared to expectations a month ago, and 2 months later than expectations earlier.

It could be months before Apple has adequate supply to meet demand for the $999 device. Reliable KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, for example, has said it could take well into 2018 for Apple to fill orders.
