can anyone comment on the coverage in Montgomery county, north of the PA Turnpike belt? from the coverage maps, it seems that AT&T's Philadelphia rollout of LTE is rather limited.

Most people avoid that city anyway.

I agree completely. Filthadelphia. :D

Gotta love how this thread is 60% commentaries on Philly instead of anything technology-related. :D

Anyway, PA in general is an acquired taste. Driving through it feels like you're in another country, the culture is just very unique and there's a lot of slang and traditions you won't find anywhere else. Sure states have differences, but Pennsylvania always felt to me like it had more of a difference than most states have with each other.

Forget about Texas - Pennsylvania was always the state I could most easily see seceding if it wanted to, due to how culturally self-sufficient it already was.

Some people like that, some people don't. If you land in the state ready to treat it like the Quebec of the United States, you'll do fine. Otherwise, it'll catch you by surprise and you might wind up resenting it.

(Not saying it's better than the other states/is my favorite state/other value judgements, by the way. I was just amazed how much PA-specific quirks and cultural data I had to load into my brain the times I was there. NYC you can just kinda stumble around in. That doesn't work as well for Pittsburgh or Philly, and definitely not for the small towns.)

Come to Pittsburgh, the first time a New Yorker get a "Pittsburgh Left" pulled on them while driving, they would freak lol.

But I agree, I'm from 45 minutes north of Pittsburgh, and Pittsburgh people in general are far different than any people I have ever met.

If you want a good rendition of a Pittsburgh person, watch "Pittsburgh Dad" on YouTube. Lol

Just know that not everyone is a dumbass stiller fan and not everyone speaks Pittsburghese.

Looks like it covers King of Prussia ...up to Oaks and stops there :(

yeah i saw that.

so i decided not to go with the AT&T version since the LTE radius is rather limited in the Philadelphia area (after all, it was just turned on last month).

i went with Verizon which has this entire area blanketed with LTE along with all semi-major cities in PA (Allentown, Harrisburg, etc). verizon will fill in the gaps within 2 years most likely while AT&T will still be attempting to expand west.

attached is a photo of my LTE speeds in Fort Washington. it used Plainfield, NJ as the closest server but i was located in Fort Washington, PA right near the PA Turnpike exit
