I also will no long buy the Nike version, for the same unspoken reasons as the above two commenters.

Got room for another one in your boat? I've been saying for the last year I'd get the Nike version when the S4 comes out, but the last two weeks has changed all of that. Now, do I want to spend the extra $ for the SS or just stick with the Silver Aluminum?

You guys are going to get this thread closed down. The OP is asking for advice and these posts are not relevant to his question.

I'm not a moderator, and I'm not reporting anything here. Just try to think from the OP's perspective. He wants advice and if the post gets closed, he's at a loss.

The stainless steel is so nice, I'd get it if you can afford it. The SS finish really elevates the watch into a luxury item, especially when paired with a nice leather band.

Wow, quite the political statements here on MR.. not really used to seeing that HERE of all places. There's room for all though, especially in that pretty small boat.

But Apple works with Nike so...boycott Apple products also?

I'm on the fence about upgrading from an S3 Nike Watch, but if I did it would be to the S4 Nike version.

Nike version always ships later and has different bands (some prefer the Nike bands, I personally like them). Those are the only two reasons to not get the Nike version.

This is the reason I'm going to get the Nike over the regular... If they changed the gold to the old yellower gold I would have gotten that but since they didn't i'm going for the space grey and rather have one of the nike bands.... now which to choose, loop or band?

Agreed: the bands are one of the reasons I'm going to go with the Nike version. I think I'll buy the loop since it has the special reflective materials. I already have a bunch of sport bands, including a knockoff Nike one, so the reflective loop will be a unique one to add to my collection.

The PRSI forum provides a forum for exchanging political views/opinions, and I think that helps keep threads in other forums less political... but sometimes conversations just go that way. I will refrain from commenting directly on the related issue on this forum, but the timing is interesting where the Apple Watch Nike edition is concerned. Some are now less likely to purchase the Nike version, some won't feel strongly either way, and some of us are now more likely to buy the Nike version.

For me it is still going to come down to which band I want. I prefer the silver aluminum, and I'm not crazy about the available band options. I might like the light gray seashell sport loop more than the white Nike sport loop, or the white Nike perforated band. While it would be nice to get the Nike faces, I'm not sure I would actually use them much. I'm going to wait until I can look at them in the store. If I don't like any of the band options, I will probably get the Nike version and sell the band. Or maybe I will decide to switch from silver aluminum to space gray? I like that dark black Nike sport loop that comes with the space gray Nike model.

I'm looking forward to finally wearing a band other than sport bands. I love all my different colors... but there are a few leather ones (kate spades black with white polka dots!!!!!!) that I've wanted but wouldn't get because my watches are black and rose gold so the stainless/silver connectors never worked for me!

Historically, I have always gotten the sport space grey aluminium with the black band. I think this time I'll get the Nike version of this watch since for athletics that Nike band is better (lets sweat breath a bit more around the wrist during activity) and I have another sport black band and other bands. It's really a no brainer in this case, AND one gets the nike watch faces (although I think those can be added). And well, all this other stuff is just not a factor in this decision.
