Cultural problems at Apple

Systemic QC problems at Apple.

There have now been at least three easily testable, if not readily fixable, flaws coming from Apple in the last two weeks. Apple is seriously failing. It is inexcusable.

It is serious enough for us stockholders to demand an internal investigation of the conditions within Apple that are allowing such problems to manifest.

They mess up like every other company. They are under a microscope from anal people like yourself and thats the problem I have.

You are way too worried about what Apple is doing wrong. I have an answer for you if you're so angry about the "8 things apple messed up this month."

Go buy a phone/computer/mp3player from SOMEONE ELSE.

Move on with your life. It's too short to whine and complain about problems the most valuable company in the world is going through.

Apple messed up with Maps and Scuffgate. It sucks, but i'm not going to cry about it.

I'm also not going to die if I can't download any new apps tonight. Everyone else will live too.

First scuffgate, then mapsgate, now appstoregate? Jeez, Apple.

Forgot, layoffapplestoreemployeesgate, riotatfoxconngate

Any I recent screwup I missed? Really, it is serious, and seems widespread across Apple. These indicate systemic problems at Apple.

Same issue here. Apple's missteps of late are discouraging. For this and other reasons I'm telling my friends and family to buy an Android phone this holiday season.

No one cares we buy from apple not because they are famous but because they Care about products and they are proud to use them

A issue here and there are one thing but this is just yet another problem in a short time span that is pretty big.

Also the best staff to fix the problem would be asleep and NOT ON CALL.

Ok apples gonna be working on this ASAP they don't get paid to sleep

iTunes 8? Why the hell are we going back to 2008?!
Yeah I was kinda curious about that to it didn't make sense

Yeah, I'm old enough to understand the cultural reference; I just don't understand why every little glitch has to be called a "-gate."
A lack of originality. There seemed to be a resurgence of ____-gate mini political scandals in the 1990's (but I may just not have been aware of ones in the 1980's)

wow I was literally using itunes match not too long ago and I'm stuck in this loop and can't listen to any of my music!

I was using iTunes Match on my iPhone and ran into the same problem. Except, my iPhone didn't prompt me to agree to new Terms. Instead I had to go to my computer and agree to the Terms there, before I could play any iTunes Cloud based music.

Glad to see this is fixed. Needed a copy of the Parallels application on an iPad around midnight and couldn't get it done.

QC issues are really put a temporary dent in the luster of Apple. Can a company be too successful and get too big???

Certainly. History is replete with examples.

However, reactions like these simply point to one inescapable fact. Apple has assumed a place of personal importance to many that most companies would kill to attain.

I had to accept the terms on my computer, couldn't accept on my phone. I thought iTunes Match was broken. Very frustrating drive to school.

Edit: Just went back and read of the reactions. Wow. Overreaction much?

I think this is a bit hyperbolic, no?

Must have been very limited...I didn't get this issue.

I noticed it when I tried to play my iTunes match. Song's in the cloud would not play, so I tried to download them. That's when it started for me. Only way to get rid of it was reboot and not play any iCloud music.

The App Store under iOS 6 has been continuously broken for WEEKS for lots of people. It was broken during beta, it is broken now.

Why haven't I seen that story on Mac Rumors?

App Store -> Genius -> CRASH
App Store -> Purchased -> CRASH

The problem's not fixed for me (US). I had it last night, gave up, and just now went to Updates and tried it again (I still had the same two apps from last night on the page), with the same results.

I then went to Featured, then back to Updates. I now had three apps, i.e. the first two and a new one. I still had to go through all of the agreement dialogs, then in the end it updated the original two apps, but not the new one. And trying to update that gets the infinite agreement loop.

(Nothing to do with this: I really don't like the fact that in iOS6, you can't just hit the Update button and have it refresh the Updates page.)
