Widespread iTunes and iCloud Apple ID "Couldn't be Found" Outage [Fixed?]

CONFIRMED.

Spoke with Apple Rep over the phone, she confirmed there are server problems worldwide regarding Apple IDs. No ETA as to when they will be back up. Suggested I leave it for a night, so expect this to be a potentially extended outtage.

They've been swamped with calls regarding this issue from all over the world.

I set up my new iMac yesterday, and this morning have been moving all of my iTunes stuff across. I got a bit worried when I was unable to sign in with my Apple ID, I assumed that I'd done something terribly wrong during the transfer process, especially so when, whilst trying to log in to applied.apple.com, I received the message 'Fatal Error'!

i just installed a samsung ssd 830 and have to redownload os x lion...

now i run lion from the old hdd with an usb sata adapter... lol

I also like how the iCloud status page is clearly static - typical of Apple, they will deny there being an issue (ala Antenna Gate).

So glad I never paid for extra space when I filled up my iCloud!

I got this when i tried to turn on newly purchased iTunes Match on my iPhone.... I thought it was related to the fact that my library hadn't been matched yet... So it is not that, but somehow I feel that it had been caused by the worldwide launch of iTunes Match....

I know its a pain, but what is the point of calling Apple Support... they clearly have an issue and to be honest the agents wont have a clue..they will be last to know.

Let them fix it then complain!

Okay. Things are coming back to normal now. I can log in to my Apple ID from my Apple TV now in the UK. I think its coming back to life!!

Just got down downloading an app on my ipad...couldn't do it earlier (10 mins ago - Las Vegas). Just tried again with password and it worked fine.

I had the same issue this morning.

Just sign out and then back in again and it works fine!

I think it's where they changed the iCloud to allow the crappy match thing.
