This is turning out to be an epic thread.

Too bad you weren't running the iDumpsterDive app. Threaten your wife with divorce unless she buys you a new iPad.

I call BS. OP says, "wife likes a clean house... she cleaned my room and threw it out mistakenly."

"My room" What are you, twelve?

I have my own room where I keep all my junk. It's called my home office. Both my wife and kids call it "dad's room" and I refer to it as "my room."

Although I cannot see my wife throw out an iPad or any electronic device, she has thrown out important papers because they were in a pile that looked like garbage/recycling.

So I guess I could see it as a positive that my wife would never willingly throw anything away?

If I die, the house is going to look like an episode of Hoarders in five years...

Lol. Your wife was jealous. IPad abuse is grounds for divorce lol.

Seriously stop posting and go find it if is worth it to you and tell your wife you still love her.

I am trying to locate my iPad 2 wifi. My wife threw it away yesterday. If its still powered and sending out a wifi signal. Is there a way to "find" it? I have a airport extreme, but I haven't found a way to see its device ID in the logs. Any advice is nice since the trash man comes tomorrow to empty the dumpster.

Luke

There are several iO5 Apps that list what device is currently attached to the same wifi network. You can also can view the client list for the router and see if the iPad is still attached to it.

But without FindMyiPhone or other locating App installed you won't know where it is. With FindMyiPhone you could get it to ping so you could hear it.

If it was me, given it was broken, I would write it off, but if you can't: Don some gloves.

I thought the same thing, too, but maybe it's his man-cave, or his home office that he's referring to.

Or maybe he is just chauvinistic: My House, my car(s), my room. My wife just cleans it all. :)

wife likes a clean house... she cleaned my room and threw it out mistakenly. The iPad had a cracked screen and I was set to replace it tonight. looking for it... its not around. its not set up for tracking because I was going to gift it to dad for christmas.

Give the broken iPad for dad for Christmas... ? Wow I think you deserve this

What, are you 12? Just because you don't have a room doesn't mean that other adults don't have their own room.

It's amazing how many forum users can't even imagine that others may live differently, have different preferences, etc. There's much more to the world than just what you're familiar with. Most of us figure this out early on.

It's certainly possible for someone to unintentionally throw something out that's important to the other. Again, think beyond your own perspective. If I went on a cleaning rampage through my wife's stuff I'd most certainly toss out stuff that I didn't think important that she would. Granted, I wouldn't just throw out her stuff but the OP's wife is clearly different.

I cleaned out a bunch of stuff I'd asked my wife to do for months. She was out digging in he trash salvaging stuff before the Trashman came. Too funny as she had told me to go ahead as she didn't feel like doing it.
She had moved her mom out of her home to an assisted living facility, and brought home all kinds of crap.

It turns out... the iPad 2 along with my macbook pro 17 were stolen. Someone broke into our house twice over the weekend and got a few high dollar items plus a few others. I thought it was my wife because she loves a clean out... "Jesus could come back and see her house in shambles and would be judged for it... " I know tell me about it! Another story for another day...

I am hoping my business insurance will cover the items at replacement cost. I might just keep the money until after the next macbook pro refresh...

Unlucky for me... iCloud can't see my devices... so I am lost... I did have lojack on the macbook... but nothing yet.

When did you realize that your house was broken into ... twice?

Yesterday about 11pm... wife came home from work. I asked her where she put my macbook pro... she didn't touch it... I found a iPhone key to take out the sim card in the outside hallway... I don't have one of those... so I knew it was a pro... Called the cops and all that jazz...

A fool and his iToys are soon separated. I think you owe your wife an apology.

Now that's a good beginning for an anecdote to be telling your friends at Christmas...

You sleep in a different room from your wife? In a different bed? Really? :p

lots of spouses sleep in separate rooms. It could be work schedules where one has to get up at 5am and the other doesn't until 7am. Or one likes to stay up late and the other needs to sleep early. Or some people just like to sleep alone, lots of reasons...

This thread is total nonsense

You didn't notice your 17" mbp was gone? Lojack on your mbp? The job was so "pro" that the person would have thrown their tool on the ground?

I hope you are trolling because if you aren't then you are an idiot and probably should just get a chromebook next time

You might want to check on your jewelry if you have any.

The state police told me they have been swamped with burglaries this past month. The burglars are going to the master bedroom and taking the jewelry box and then any notebooks are other small electronics that can be carried out. The police have been going door to door asking people to keep an eye out for any car or person that is not normally in the area.

The burglars are so stealthy, nobody notices things are missing or disturbed until they actually need to use an item that is missing.

This is the second most ridiculous thread I've read today. Luckily, if you contact the author of the most ridiculous thread you can get comex's cell number and call him to have him aid in the investigation.

My suggestion is...

...next year be sure to remember her birthday and anniversary. You're lucky you just lost a broken iPad if that really happened. Who throws away an iPad?

man I'm sorry to say and I'm really not trying to insult everyone, but you people have now fell twice in a row (in the same thread !!! ) for this troll...jeez..smh
