I just spoke to a person at best buy in CT and they mentioned they won't be receiving the macbooks on launch.

Not sure how much he knows but just wanted to throw it out there.

Just to add to the data set, I asked my Best Buy reps at Tempe, AZ and Phoenix, AZ locations, both said they do not expect to have any on Friday, said they definitely don't have them yet for sure. Guess we'll see.

I have talked to 2 Best Buy's near me. 1 said their Apple rep said they would have them, although he didn't know which configurations. The other guy said that they get deliveries on Monday and Wednesday, so they wouldn't have them on Friday.

The one that said they would have them is right next to an Apple Store, so I am going to try that one.

Apple products don't come in via bestbuy shipments but rather on there own so I been told. So don't worry about them not being in those shipment days

That's what I thought, so I immediately figured he had no idea... I'll still play it safe and head to the one near the Apple Store, even though there are a couple Best Buy's closer to my house.

Called a two Best Buys by me. One said they SHOULD have it Friday. The other said they will be getting them but not sure if on Friday. But yes, direct shipped from Apple. It's not like a product that they get from their Best Buy warehouse. Apple actually ships it direct to them, so they really don't know.

My local BB said they will not have them on Friday, but hope to have them soon. This was from the Apple rep who works in the store.

Those aren't Apple reps, they're Best Buy employees who wear a black polo shirt instead of a blue polo. Very misleading. They're even less reliable for information than an Apple Store employee.

New update from my local BB who told me a few days ago they would have them in, they will not. The guy I know there says he was wrong and its going to be an Apple store only device on its release, just like the Watch will be. He said he doesn't know how long it will be until they get them in, could be a week, could be a month. Looks like Apple is trying to force people to buy these new devices from them which I am not happy with at all as I have plenty of Rewards Members certificates I was planning on using. This ***** plus the price of the rMB plus the price gouging on the tiny spec bumps as well as the rMBP 15 still sporting a 2 year old GPU when everyone else has upgraded is really making me think about leaving the Apple camp.

Yeah right. You just have to be complaining about something. Just like you've been bashing rMB on here for the past month.. and yet here you're - researching where you're going to buy one Friday!

It hasn't been a month. Anyway, I always buy Apple's new releases and test them out. I doubt I'll keep it but Im still going to buy one and play with it.

Great. I am eagerly anticipating your future posts complaining about whatever you find wrong with rMB.. how Apple doesn't know what they're doing, and how you're going to switch away from them

Haha well who knows. Maybe I'm wrong and I'll enjoy it.

Okay, didn't know that. He has shown me his Apple ID as he is one of the Houston field reps and services many stores. He has been around for years and hooked me up with the 2012 MBPR back then.

Not to say they know everything because they don't but our local apple rep at best buy also goes to other auth apple resellers for support. He also gets the 50% off apple watch deal that the others bestbuy emp don't get.

Grey or Blue ID? That's the difference between contractor\vendor and actual employee.

I know here in the bay area they're all just Best Buy employees.... I would think the same in TX as well.

Called 2 local Best Buy's with Apple Shops, both could not confirm whether or not they would have the new MacBook.
Both kept asking if I meant the MacBook Air, so yeah, they have no idea.

While I agree they don't know much you would think by this time they have them if they where going to have them. Unless they normally get them late at night

For what it's worth, best buy has put up a MacBook teaser on its laptop section of its website

Can anyone go to the post office and request a mover's packet or do you actually have to show proof you changed residencies?

Not sure why this question is in this thread. But, no you do not have to show any proof of address change. In fact you don't even need to go to the Post Office. You can change your address 100% online. I just did it a few months ago.
