The ironic thing is that Apple pretends to be environmental, at least it touts how its products are, yet it doesn't seem so long ago that there was an article saying how Apple were the biggest customer of a particular airline, and by a long shot. Commercial airlines use Jet Fuel' and jet fuel is still leaded... Leaded fuel was phased out decades ago for its toxicity... Apple will have flown in a number of people for this event.. Ironic lol

Jet fuel isn't leaded.

"Environmental Discussion" at Apple park! please don't make me laugh! Is like Al Capone talking about honesty, Mc Donald that talks about low calory diet and a prostitute that talks about the virtuosity of chastity! :D
If you sell something more repairable and / or upgradable, you serve the environment better, much better. Nobody will ever convince me that when you need more RAM for your laptop is more ecological to upgrade the entire laptop instead of adding a new module of RAM, whatever "ecological" process you use.
Nobody will ever convince me that flooding the market with millions of devices every year is "ecological" expecially when they want us to change the smartphone every year!
Don't get me wrong, the companies are only doing their job that is MAKING MONEY.
The problem is that companies (and I'm not talking about apple only) talk about "ecology" when they should talk only about their products and not give us MORAL LESSONS. This is a conflict of interests that is easy to understand and they, for sure, understend as well. Only Independent institutions should talk about ecology and push the government to make or change rules for the interest of collectivity .
I don't hate Apple, I love Apple products, but I hate hypocricy. I miss a lot Steve Job that used to talk mainly about products and innovation and I believe he was more authentic compared to "Tim Apple" because he was a real CEO, not a politician.

Someone could make the argument that we don't "waste" energy, we "use" energy.
Someone could make that argument, but they'd do better to argue that we "transform" energy. First law of thermodynamics...

In any case, the problem isn't how energy is managed, it's the artifacts of how it's managed.

Oh god please stop this. I have refrained myself to comment and just had a laugh with the usual MR’s comments... but here I am.

What in the actual f*ck, why Tim Cook is always cringe tweeting or instagramming stuff like this... what’s all this about getting surrounded by actors, rappers, musicians, Oprahs and Khaleds and Dr. Phils of the world (yes, a category themselves) and other sorts of celebrities... WHY. Hell, there are scientist celebrities on the subject, that would be a better fit at least.
Why is the marketing and PR department even allowing this!
Will wait for next one: “Tim touches the queen of England’s hand during save the poor summit” with the accompanying tweet “Sweet and hilarious evening! What a lovely lady. Magical”

I’m sorry but I think your confused. Commercials jets use a fuel called Jet A. Jet A does not contain lead. Jet A is similar to kerosene in a sense. The leaded fuel you speak of is called AVgas. It’s usually only used in small piston driven airplane engines for example like Cessnas.

Instead of putting that money into a profit driven business, if they were really concerned about the environment and water was their passion project, they would invest into the decaying water infrastructure. I use refillable 5 gallon bottles because my water has too much lead.

This is more a PR than discussing true environmental topics. Apple still offers the iPhone Upgrade Program so how is this being an environmentally friendly company? And the Trade-in Program? Encouraging people to buy things unnecessarily and before the end of its lifespan does not help the environment. So let's be real when we talk about saving the environment.

If you are really concerned. Use a water filter and reusable containers. Better yet for the environment tap water. So there is no filter waste. If you are hard core and willing to risk the occasional parasite or disease. Get your water directly from streams, rivers, puddles, rain, &c.

Their environmentally friendly home.

Exactly. There are enough water bottling companies out their and another adding to more materials for production and energy used Since they are wealthy, why not buy water filters and water bottles and give it out for free so more and more people can use their tap water..

BTW, I don't see solar panels on this property. A house this large requires more energy to warm and cool. What about the pool and I'm sure the filter is running 24/7 to keep it clean.

I agree with you. They should be discussing and providing tips on ways to reduce consumption.

So would they be more environmentally friendly by using private jets that only seat a few people? Or ground vehicles that take days instead of hours?

Focusing on hypocritical behavior says more about you than the ones you think you're exposing.

You have got to be kidding me. This family has nothing to do with saving the environment. Was Al Gore not available? Maybe saving a Whale somewhere in the Pacific Ocean? This was even more cringeworthy that’s Oprah Winfereys’ winded speech during the last Apple Fest. Apple has got to spend less time trying to be cool and more time trying to be real.

You know what's even more environmentally friendly and costs less? Get a coconut shell carbon water filter that lasts for months and fill up a stainless steel double walled vacuum sealed bottle. Stays cold all day and tastes great. I've been doing this since 2013. The filters for my fridge are about $15 on Amazon and last about 4-6 months. The bottle is a $30 Thermos with flip top lid. My wife and kids all have one and we bring them everywhere.
Is this an ad for Amazon? Sure sounds like one.

I agree that they are hypocritical. However, jet fuel is not leaded. You may be confusing it for avgas, which is still leaded.

This is all about Will Smith saving his career, now his wife is the only one that has any succes he has become just another actor stuck in his self indulgent crap projects, last decent thing he did was I am Legend. Alfonso Ribeiro is now more TV recognisable than Will.
