Wow...I'm speechless.

Time to back out of this thread slowly and thank dog I don't have this disease that the rest of you have.

When I first opened this thread, I thought everyone was nuts. But then I looked at my 6S Plus and found the same imperfection. On mine, it's not a big deal. Not even a small deal. But if it was a little more noticeable (as has been reported on some people's phones), then I'd probably be complaining.

My goal and reason for posting in this thread is to support OP and others in evaluating the scope. A big question is if this is a batch imperfection that can be corrected with a replace/repair, or just something in the design that impacts all 6S Plus devices.

Laughing these people off as diseased (as you put it) — that attitude doesn't help anyone.

What's your source on this?
I suspect his 4th point of contact.

I edited my initial post. On mine, I don't have a shadow that I see during normal use, even on a white screen. I have to focus my eyes on the area to see what 'maybe' looks like a tiny tiny shadow. I have pretty bad ocd as well (I traded a 5 month old Porsche after a minor fender bender because I couldn't stand the non-factory paint) and this 'spot' doesn't bother me. Yours must be worse. If it's obviously noticeable just scrolling through a webpage id exchange it too.
You must be new here because around launch time this is pretty normal for MR members... well some of them any way.

I paid hundreds of thousands for a house and it has visible "faults" all over it. I don't think money is really part of the equation. People won't return cars because of a minor screw bulge somewhere in the dash (although maybe some here would). The device works as advertised. It takes quite a bit of work to even see this (as most everyone has said they wouldn't have seen it if not for this thread).

I dunno man, I think you guys are searching for perfection that doesn't exist.

I agree. The more I evaluate this situation, the more I shake my head in disbelief. For those that have this itty-bitty, barely-noticeable-1mm-smudge that you can only see if you stare at it hard enough, I can't believe you're even halfway concerned about it.

Wow, just wow.

Does Apple already have replacement units in the store? I know I will never find one like mine new in the box.

They always produce a number of replacement units for every launch- if they have any in stock now is another issue.

They are white box, no accessories.

I have this issue it's there bit not that noticeable i guess my major issue is my Top two corners bugging the crappie out of me. It sure if I should just return it or what?

Exchange or return! You got the dirty shadow areas in screen or in other words when panels start to deteriorate due to heat, cold, humidity and the environment its in not to mention lifespan, all panels even sealed I believe do this.

Out of box my new 22" EIPS on sale monitor was a a even brightness clean look, it was manufactured 5 months ago. Now it has the faint random areas with the dirt stain spots as I call it or dirty white compared to clean white on screen. Fingerprints all over could cause the "look" so make sure its cleaned and wiped down, still there its either dirty panel, lamination, one of the layers, digitizer, or outer glass.

Kind of got this problem on new mini 4 but it does not look that bad and at full brightness of screen you do not notice it at all, when screen is at lowest brightness its more noticeable but not as bad as your pics. Mine dirty whites are at bottom of screen only small rectangle from side to side in portrait.

Only quirk I have with mini 4, also do not like IOS9!

There are some deeply condescending and insulting posts in this thread; this is disappointing but not entirely surprising.

The issue exists. I can see it with my own eyes and it's not present on my 6 Plus's screen. It's not as pronounced as something like a stuck or dead pixel but once you notice it, it becomes annoying (plus the area that's affected is far bigger than a pixel.)

I'm not yet sure what I'm going to do. It's probably something I can live with but it's definitely a little irritating.

My suggestion? If you don't see it, don't go looking for it. For most, it's so subtle you won't ever see it. I would never noticed if I didn't read this darn thread lol.

However, it doesn't bother me. On mine, it's near impossible to see and everything else is fine. :D

This is probably the best advice. I spent a few minutes staring at my phone looking for any of these blemishes and I can't find any. I like to think my vision is fairly decent too, but who knows. Either way, it seems fine to me so I am not going to drive myself crazy looking for a problem. I saw the link with the row of them, and I would not blame anyone with something like that exchanging asap.

I can't see any issues on mine but to be honest I can't see anything wrong with the screens that were posted with a problem, either.

It's one of those things. If you look hard enough for a problem you will 100% find one. I was happy with every one of my devices until I read some bloody manufacturing issue thread like this. I then saw bookspine on my iPad Air, yellowing, colour gamut and colour shifts on my iPad mini 2, pink screen on my retina macbook (which isn't pink with some calibration), distortion issues with the Air 2 (not mine thankfully).... now we have the "pinch spot" on the 6s + and 2 different manufacturer A9 chips and "which is better" in the 6s and 6s +

Grrrrr

If it bothers you return it.... making posts about it won't solve your problem.

That reply was to the people who are telling us that we are seeing things and/or crazy. It's useful to know that there appears to be an issue with some 6s+ screens.

Also, I would hope that the more this is talked about and any information shared here might be useful going forward. (What Apple do or say to anyone who contacts them over it, for example, which others have shared here.)

I'll probably contact Apple about it, what they'll do remains to be seen. Overall, I like the 6s+ better than my 6+ but, like most screen issues, that which has been seen cannot be unseen.

The question is, is it bad enough to make me want to return it? That's ultimately a personal decision for each person who may be affected by it.

I would like to say I woke up this morning and my issue is now gone. I no longer have that dark area on any brightness level. I am on the lowest now and also tried 20%. Nothing.

Give the suction cup thing a try for those of you that have the issue. It does work.

IMO Unacceptable, Apple needs to address this unless it goes away after 2 weeks use on various brightness levels.

Also the "white" color seems to have a Yellowish Tint on the new 6s and 6s Plus that would bother me way worse when "white" looks yellowish tinted

especially on thee images posted

I had a more noticeable version of this on left and right sides...saw it right away when I first turned on my phone. I've been to Apple stores in one city and ATT stores in another and all had them, but to varying degrees.

Someone mentioned a suction cup earlier in the tread, tried it, and it's now much less pronounced and almost invisible on both sides. Thank yoi for the fix!!!!

I know this will be totally obvious, but I'm going to say it anyway......

If you are going to try the suction cup approach to try and fix this issue, please remember to remove your screen protector first if you use one. Otherwise you are going to be very disappointed with what happens when you try it...... :)

Nice to hear the suction cup worked for you as well. :)
