Mac Rumors-The place to go when you want to find all the defects your phone has that you never would have noticed otherwise.
Yeah, seriously, I don't know if I would've found this without seeing this in another thread.

So what do I do?

Make an entire thread dedicated to it! **** your fun!

I should've avoided coming here during an iPhone launch, haha.

Returned mine today due to this defect and shadowed corners on the display. The clerk started it up and did the refund right away after seeing it. There were no replacements at the store so I am back on my 6+.

I noticed today that the demo units at the store were mostly flawless with evenly lit displays as opposed to what I had seen last Saturday at the same store.

It's going to be difficult for me to replace my 6+ because it is perfect in comparison to most of the 6S+ I have seen. Last year I returned a 6+ I got on launch for flaws and couldn't get another for more than a month because of demand, however that phone is the one I am still using and it is fantastic.

I think I may wait a month and see where the quality control is at then before trying another phone.

If you turn down the brightness to 50% you will probably see it on the demo units as well!

I wanted to report, my phone came in, and it's got the spot, lower left side, 1cm up from the bottom.

64GB Rose Gold 6S+, Foxxcon, Shenzhen Week 39... Hot off the press.

When I saw it, it was really noticeable. However, it seems to be fading.

Also it appears to be not a pressure point, as it doesn't make any difference when I press there.

I am thinking of getting AppleCare+ and not worry about it, until some future time, when they have more stock. Maybe it will go away completely.

You know, if I still had my 6S Plus, I would try something else. My 6S had a little darkness in the corner, barely noticeable unless you looked hard for it, but I wanted to get it out.

I don't have a suction cup at my immediate disposal, so I took a cloth between my finger and the screen, and I just sort of started massaging toward the edge with a little bit of pressure, not too much. Now it seems to have dissipated a little, and actually appears slightly brighter!

Maybe it's my imagination, but I swear it looks better. I didn't try it with the Plus because I thought there was an internal component actually pressing on the screen.

I swear if that works I'm going to kick myself for exchanging the Plus.

Bummer. The only thing with the replacements is, once they are refurbs, they aren't great.

Do you have the top bleed on white backgrounds too? My phone looks great straight on, but if the top gets tipped at all away from me, a binding/dark light effect appears from the top coming from above the menu bar, down into the rest of the screen.

Good luck with your phone, I hope it will go away as you want. I don't have that spot, but I have this binding effect at the top.

Mine has it too but it's hard to see. I found that going to you contacts and watching lower left as the bar scrolls up and down makes it easier to see.

iPhone 6s Plus SG 128GB received from AT&T on the 28th. I just noticed the spot as described by others. It's starting to bother me. I don't want to traded it in on a refurb in the future though. :(

Did you use a subsidy? It's best to order with Apple if not using subsidies, for reasons like this (you could try ordering again with no restocking fee). Nevertheless, I had to order at ATT so my fingers are crossed I'll get a good one.

You can probably get a good customer service rep at att to waive the restocking fee in online chat after they process the return, but your mileage will vary.

Incorrect. Refurbs are actually subject to more rigorous and individual testing than production units.

Incorrent. Apples refurbs are trash, as every refurb Ive had from Apple since 2010 has been awful. My last one had someone else iTunes info on it, along with scratches on the back.

And I've never seen an official Apple statement saying replacements go through more testing either. Ive only seen people that believe it. When asking a genius about the replacements, they just say they are refurbished.

It seems like it is on a lot of phones...just noticeable to different degrees. Whats funny is we have 20 pages worth of postings on this topic and I don't think anyone exchanged it for this issue. Quite frankly, not sure exchanging is going to get you a better device. It might be more pronounced on the replacement than the one you currently have.

I think it's more a luck of the draw. I have had a few bad experiences with refurbs mainly during the iPhone 4s and 5 era, but after that it's been solid with refurbs.

I exchanged mine and it was the same result, although just "slightly" better then the original.

damn I wished I tried it on my replacement before I applied a glass protector on mine!

Yup, For the 4,4S and 5 it was awful. The 5S I never replaced once. My original 6 was awesome but every replacement has been horrible because the screen clicks in the lower right corner.

I don't think anyone should take a chance and replace. You might get more issues. Enjoy the phone. Every lcd has issues. If we were all as anal and checked our tvs we would probably find something too.

Well at least your replacement was slightly better...could of been the other way around.

You could spend months trying to find that perfect iPhone (which there is no such thing its a mass produced item) returning/exchanging so forth instead of just enjoying the device. Its a phone, not a hand crafted Bugatti. Sometimes I feel its best to stay away from the boards during launch. It can turn someone who was ecstatic to receive it to pulling hairs wondering if they should return it because this person has this wrong and that person has that wrong.

Mine has this but very slightly. This morning a dead pixel appeared in the top right corner. I don't want to return the phone but probably will. I'm not playing the swap out game. I did that last year and had three iPhone 6's with dead pixels and went back to my 5s. Probably going to do the same and stick with the 5s.

Every refurb I've received has been horrible quality. My luck with new iPhones has been much better. Early in the year the white box replacements are ok because they are still new, but once they are truly refurbs, odds are not in your favor.

Honestly, saying they are subject to more vigorous testing, what you say should be the truth. Unfortunately, it doesn't translate with what they ship. I have been buying Apple care in recent years, but use it as an absolute last resort.

the suction might work, but i don't see how it won't go back into place with pressing. If its as easy as a suction cup fix then it will eventually loosen up on its own.

Went to my phone and checked. No light bleed on the top.

Frankly I am concerned that this blemish alone, the spot, is not worth exchanging it out.

It seems to be getting less noticeable. Maybe rubbing and pressing on it occasionally is having a positive effect.

I dimmed to 50%, and it's more noticeable, but where I like it, rather brighter, it's less noticeable.
