Are you asking about this being possible when using VoLTE or just the same existing network without VoLTE? Because without VoLTE nothing relating to that would change as the same CDMA network would be in use with the same limitations that apply to CDMA.

Right, you answered the ? yourself, I expect nothing to change on CDMA but looking to see if this functionality now works on the advanced LTE stuff

----------

You can turn on Verizon's Advanced Calling 1.0 (VoLTE) by going here: https://www.verizonwireless.com/wcms/consumer/advanced-calling.html and clicking the "Get Advanced Calling" button.

I was able to successfully add it to my account and change the "Enable LTE" setting on my iPhone 6 to "Voice & Data" instead of just Data. I haven't had a chance to try and make a call with it just yet though.

Can you do a test call where you try to conference in another line? See the video, I'm hoping it now works like AT&T where you can manipulate lines with visibility on each number, etc

Theoretically, yes once they activate VoLTE (Voice over LTE). The iPhone 6 supports it, it's up to Verizon now to turn it on.

Yes, people know.

The iPhone 6 is XLTE and can talk and text at the same time.

But that won't be operational until mid-2015 right? I thought I read that somewhere.

Maybe it's operational now! I just got 32 down 10 up. That's way more than my friends LTE phone.

UPDATE: I checked it and XLTE is operating in my area so I guess you can talk and surf now?

You need a phone that supports it and turn on the "advanced calling" feature related to VoLTE. Then you need to be in an area where it is enabled to use it as well (and I think need to be calling someone who has it too).

I think calling over wifi is what is getting enabled in 2015, I think Verizon activated VoLTE already. I may be confused on the VoLTE.

So many requirements. Thank for the information. I wonder if VoLTE uses more battery than 3G?

Thankfully I never make calls on my phone.

Simultaneous Voice/Data or Volte and Advanced Conference calling confirmed

I have confirmed that the new VoLTE Verizon iPhone 6 provides voice/data access without Wifi. I have only confirmed that you can now switch between multiple calls and end individual calls without dropping everyone. The inability of the iPhone 5s to do this was a major handicap for me, thus my reason for switching back to ATT as of yesterday on the iPhone 6. I picked up a Verizon iPhone 6 this morning after speaking with an in-store Verizon rep who really didn't know how VoLTE worked and the restrictions associated with it. I made the decision to just purchase it and try it at home. I was able to do all of the above mentioned without wifi once LTE coverage was turned on for Voice. By default it is set to Data only. I was able to stay on multiple calls, switch between and merge calls, surf the web and text back and forth with my wife all without issue. This is what I've been waiting for on Verizon for the iPhone. Now Verizon has the perfect package for me, outstanding signal strength and advanced VoLTE capabilities.
