Sure. Nobody has really had a chance to handle the phone yet. Some people will be surprised by the size. They'll decide it's too much and exchange it.

On the flip side, people (especially prior 5s owners) will get ahold of the regular 6. After several hours, they'll decide that it isn't enough of an upgrade over their prior phone and will exchange it for the more radically different plus.

It goes both ways. I doubt one has any more returns than the other.

I feel those upgrading from iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s will opt for the iPhone 6.

Those upgrading from the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s will opt for the iPhone 6 Plus more.

It's just my opinion. The difference is too huge from a 4 to a 6 Plus. The difference is too little from a 5 to a 6.

People will get what they want.

Nobody can predict the sales to returns ratio at this point. It's absurd how these insecure buyers are trying to make the others regret their purchase. £600 and upwards for a device these days is a huge amount of money, so to make others feel crap about parting with that amount of money for their preference is a dick-move to rival dick-moves.

Lets wait 'til Friday and see how it goes. Then you guys can preach how right/wrong you were.

Short answer "No". I think the folks that have ordered the iPhone 6 Plus for the most part know what they are getting into. Folks have seen the Note and know the 6 Plus is a similar size.

Yes, it will be returned in large numbers. A lot of us are impulse buyers and the better specs drove us to the bigger screen.

No, I have been using the One + phone and have loved having a bigger screen. The 6 plus will be a great phone for me, and most of the people that decided to get it. A small number will return it for the 6 as will a small number return the 6 for the plus. Nothing new here, just a typical new product launch in the tech world. Can't we all just get along and enjoy our new phones? :apple:

But then you could argue that a large number of us were equally amped for that size to come out and had our hearts set on it without a doubt in mind. All assumptions...

Agree, I am so looking forward to read people's experience with the 6+ the first week. I predict massive returns, with the 6 being the preferred choice. We shall see.

I don't see that happening at all. I have looked at phones at walmart close to the 5.5. Held it in my hand etc. I know I won't be able to fit it into my pocket but that's okay with me.

I don't get the need of so many members here to put down each other's choice of phone. Picking one over the other doesn't make anyone some kind of genius. Apple finally gave people a choice which is what everyone bitched about and now it's a d&@k measuring contest between iPhone users. Absurd. Buy what you want and enjoy your purchase.

Yeah, you've checked it out so you're fine but many people haven't. They are the ones who may have buyer's remorse.

Apparently my pockets are deeper than most anyone else. I borrowed a friend's Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 to see what Android was like and I had zero problems fitting it in my pants.

Yep.

Apparently you and I are the only people who don't wear skinny jeans. Heck, I live in Florida...I wear jeans MAYBE two months a year. My buddies note 3, and the the cardboard template I made, fit fine in any shorts (and jeans) I put on.

I agree, but it's a fact that one is bigger than the other. And screen size being such a focus on smart phones these days, there seems to be a lot of angst between those who embrace the big screen and those who cling to the small screen.

I say if you want the smaller screen, go for it and enjoy it! Screen envy is over rated. When you see the bigger screen on the iPhone 6+, just tell yourself "it's too big" and enjoy your smaller screen. No need for hate.

When all those iPhone 6+ users struggle to fit their humongous phones or phablets into their pants pockets you can point at them and laugh. LOL! Silly iPhone user. You can't even send a text with one hand! Look at me! My thumb reaches all four corners of my screen, while you stretch that thumb!

Just avoid putting your phone next to theirs so the size difference isn't so obvious. You'll be fine.

I think it will be because many, many members here who originally wanted the 4.7 opted for the 5.5 once they learned of the better specs on the latter, especially if they didn't do their research and made cut-outs to get an idea of what the bigger size is like. We're already getting a flurry of threads from members who changed their minds after preordering.
Its been going both ways though. If you go into those same threads you have people saying they tried out Galaxy Note and then switched their orders to the 6+. The people bashing the 6+ were trying to justify to themselves their purchase.

I just saw a woman with Galaxy note texting with one hand. I think Apples case for one handed use was overblown....and while it may have seemed reasonable at that time they touted one handed use, its not reasonable now. People have adjusted just fine.

I'm getting the 6+ with the intent to keep it. If it doesn't work out, then there is a 14 day return policy. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Besides, the 6 should be readily available, if I had to swap.

I predict a massive amount of iPhone 6 returns once they get to handle the 6+ and get screen envy. They'll be rushing to upgrade to a 6+ and there won't be stock. Then they'll come to MacRumors and complain about the injustice of it all.

Yes, I predict this.

Some of us have been using 5+" screens for years. In fact I'm using one now. Screen envy is not the reason I got the 6 over the 6+. Phone size on the other hand is.

I think there will be returns on both ends - users realizing that 4.7" is not the biggest upgrade (screenwise) and those realizing that 5.5" is too big for their day to day needs.

But really, those ordering the 6+ should have a general idea of how big the phone is, if they have ever seen a Samsung Note 3.

I know I won't be returning my 6plus 64gb gold because I have never once carry a phone in my pocket lol hell most stuff I wear don't have pockets. I also use my phone for everything even watching TV so a bigger screen is what I need.

I might return it. But if I do, it will be because it has 1GB ram and is performing sluggish, not because of size.

Maybe it's just me but I can't imagine a high quantity of returns of 6+'s. It may be large and feel so out of place at first but once those web pages start snapping up and having all of that real estate to view stuff w/o using the ipad on the run. I believe that's when the "okay I'm good" will come in.

I really liked the Note 3 and did not give it up after 14 days. Problem folks are going to have may be the same as mine, the size wears on you afterwards.

But it is also going to depend on what benefit you see yourself getting from the Plus versus just the 6 to justify you lugging the Plus around. Fir me, I moved to the S5 and have had it longer than I kept the Note 3.

I dont think there will be a lot of returns. The people pre-ordering now know what they are doing, the average customer will have plenty of time to try the phone in a store before making a decision.

I do think the 6 will outsell the 6+ probably ~3-1, but I am not imagining many people find that strange.

Yes, I agree and those bashing the 6 were trying to justify their purchase as well. However, going to the store to try out the Galaxy Note may not be sufficient for some. Certain individuals may get buyer's remorse after living with it for a while, much like how some Note owners went back to smaller phones after living with it and deciding it's too much phone for them.
