I asked Tim Cook for updated numbers already and he didn't reply :(

A contributed was quoted the 'nine customers had bent phones' by staff in a UK apple store yesterday though.

by staff you mean some dude with a blue shirt selling Apple stuff in a store?

why would he know more than you and me do?

Tim is probably more worried how he's gonna fulfill the 20M pre-orders he got from China....

bendgate has clearly buggered Apple! LOL

TBH, I don't think anyone (except Apple) wanted it thinner.

I agree. If Apple decided they wanted to design these phones thinner, they should have done a better job in R&D to reinforce the weakest point of these phones. This might not be the best analogy, but auto makers do this in their crash tests.

I'm still on the fence about the 6. I need to upgrade my 4S and I usually have that in my pocket with a sleeve case on it. I can't decide because of these bending reports.

I know, fingers crossed a lot of the manufacturing and software defects have been ironed out for the China launch. Its an important market here in China for apple.

I've had the original bendgate phone - the iPhone 5, for over 2 years now, and it has not bent.

go for it.

Phone feels solid in the hand. there's no way it bends like some people are making it out to do.

Everyone keeps adopting the "9" complaints statistic, you can probably find 9 videos from launch week alone. Glad I didn't buy the plus (I wanted it). The apple design just doesn't fit modern screen sizes. For more my 6 and g3 will be amazing, hopefully next year's "+" has a modern overhaul.

Didn't understand a word you wrote there....

We will know for sure in the next 6 to 12 months. If the price of AppleCare suddenly goes up at least 10% in price, there is a problem. AppleCare is a huge cash cow for Apple, virtually all of it is profit. If there are excessive claims, they will raise the price, just like every insurance does. Same with Squaretrade and carrier warranties. If they raise the cost of their iPhone insurance, something is up.

I did notice today that my iPhone 6+ looks to be bent. Mine is very slightly curved towards the screen. I'll take a picture when I get home with my iPad. The phone has been in the front pocket only of loose cargo shorts and once has been in the front pocket of blue jeans but I felt like it was kind of tight so I held it in my hand most of the time.

My phone has been in a UAG snap on case since the day I bought it. I have removed the phone from the case to show some friends the bare phone and it requires a little force to pull it out. I'm thinking thats how it happened.

Just a little background on me, all I've had were android phones for like the past 5 or so but I've always liked Apple products. I still love the new phone and the very slight bend hasn't affected the performance any so I can't see me trying to get it replaced or anything, just figured I would post my experience.

Cool theory, bro.

Let me tell you something...

With enough time, all our phones are bound to bend, right? As time goes on, will we see more and more bending? I'm worried that in 6 months, normal daily usage will cause bending over time.

I had a dream last night where my iPhone bended like cardboard. It was weird. Luckily, it was only a dream but in the dream it seemed so real.

I think in the dream I tried to iron it flat and.....bad ending.

Something all these Sept 2014 registrants wouldn't remember. (I have actually been a member since 07 here but had to reregister in 12).

I've been waiting for someone to Gif-ify the Star Trek scene where Ricardo Montalban, playing Khan, crushes a phaser in his hands like a piece of paper, along with a title line explaining that in the future, Apple makes phasers...

The rate of bent iPhone 5's in the early days was similar to what we are seeing with the 6 now. Eventually, a nonissue.

This looks like a good cause. Certainly I have had my issues with the poor quality of Xperia build quality and support before in the past. I say go for it. Let me know what you need to get started.
I'm not interested in starting a site. You are claiming to be without agenda and simply concerned for people whose phone's have bent.
I don't feel that is right as these people are using their phones as they would use any phone they have owned before. If it bends under 'normal phone use' perhaps it needs a warning label on it.
That seems pretty clear cut.
If we start to see a large amount of people reporting note 4s bending and samsung have the arrogance to put out a statement blaming it on the user and refusing service then I'm sure I can create a note 4 bend site.
This also seems clear cut. You're sure that you would start another site if there were large numbers, but now that you have been shown evidence of exactly that,
https://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z1-Z1s/Just-realized-my-month-old-z1-is-bent/td-p/440181
of customers from a company other than Apple having large numbers of phones bend and having their claims refused, you've suddenly decided that despite it being a worthy cause, you're a bit too busy.

I can understand you being worried that publicity of other companies phones bending will dilute the message your site is trying to put out, but, if that is the case, the question can be asked whether or not your concerns are simply for the owners of bent phones or actually more exclusively about Apple itself.

The 6 is actually more prone than the + according to Consumer Reports. Both are still well within normal guidelines... If you're bending your phone, you're probably doing something strange with it.

Why is the 6 more prone than the +? I would never purposely bend my phone. If it bent, it was because I had it in my jean pocket. Having it in your jean pocket should NOT cause any phone to bend. IMO, the craftsmanship isn't solid.

Thanks for the advice. If no more iPhones bend then definitely the site will die.

What do you mean by that?
Do you think the phones bend by themselves?
Or with normal usage?

How do you know how many of the iPhones bend from normal usage and how many bend because a person tried to bend them?

You don't.

I don't understand what you goal of that site is because you make no attempt at any sort of journalistic integrity. It is just sensationalism.

Blah, blah, blah. There you go again.

And IF something about my aunt, my uncle and balls.

You have no evidence that they are using them as the normally have before and in fact, the only evidence we see is people who have gone out of their way to bend the phones. Odd that you don't "report" on those two people in the U.K. who went into a store and talked about how hard it was to bend a phone until, after re-gripping them, they were eventually able to bend them. Instead, you report on people who were just minding their own business, when the phones mysteriously bent by itself.

But keep trolling for clicks. It is the American way.

Do it.. i have the 6 and no issues at all. I keep it in my front pocket most of the time. This past weekend I was on vacation in the florida keys. One day i was in jeans with the phone in my front pocket and walked about 5 miles in total in almost 90 degree (F) weather... phone is still straight.

It's not going to bend very easily. It's been blown out of proportion. You have a .0003% chance of it bending.

I appreciate the assurance. I haven't seen the 6 since launch. I'm going this weekend to Apple and make some inquiries on this whole bending issue. I really want the factory unlocked, but read from this forum that the T-Mobile version will work on ATT. I need one that's completely unlocked and contract free. My second worry is if I should go with the T-Mobile 6 or wait Thanksgiving for the factory unlocked.

Here are some pictures as promised earlier, like I said mine just has a slight curve to the phone that I think is from pulling it out of its snap on case. It doesn't really bother me but I hope it doesn't affect cases like the lifeproof nude later.

Excuse the bad quality picture, it's an iPad 2.

You can see that it has a level on top of it, I then used my knife as a weight to lift the other side of the level up.
