I don't doubt they had a bad bunch.it the 5 had a bad bunch also. But to think Apple is going to risk everything on bending phones is crazy talk lol. While I beleive you have good intentions, you need QC on your site, the simple fact there are iPhone clones in the wild

Quite a lot of defects seem to have creeped in this time around if you read this post https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1783894/ I don't see the chance of a structural defect being a completely outside possibility.

Out of how many millions?

Supposedly around 20 million now. If you take out the deliberate bends it works out to be about 0.0003%. That percentage seems a tad low for a phone that can supposedly be easily bent just with "normal" usage.

Maybe the other 19,999,917 owners don't put their phones in their pockets.

I'm sure most Americans will have bent iPhones within six months...why? Large population of overweight people. Remember, only takes 100 lbs to bend the phone according to consumer reports although I have seen a preschooler do it with his own strength . :D

If we start to see a large amount of people reporting note 4s bending and samsung have the arrogance to put out a statement blaming it on the user and refusing service then I'm sure I can create a note 4 bend site.

Not Samsung but Sony. Multitudes of bent Xperia Z1's. Sony refusing most replacements and charging for repairs. Can we assume these will be on your site or a new site?

Is Apple Care covering bentgate? The sell of Apple care would be increased if it is.

okay i get the reference to watergate, but that was name of a hotel. why is everything that is perceived bad, a -gate? nipplegate? maybe i don't get it, but i think badthing-gate is just a silly moniker and I wish it ended when it started after nixon. another thing i can blame him for. silly terms the media loves to use!

erm.. 'this page appears to be missing' when I click your link.

Certainly if a problem occurs on a regular basis from lots of users with the Z3 then I might do something with it. The Z1 would be a bit of a stretch now as it is a 2 generation old phone, not a 3 week old one.

It is probably best that you try and get an alternative bending phone site up and running yourself though as my time is a little full. I think that www.defendingiphonebendinesswithotherphonesthatarebent.com is still available :p

I noticed you do not have a legal disclaimer on your site. Copy and paste one asap.

For iPhone 6 and 6+ owners... where do you keep your iphone when you go out??

As a guy, pants pocket is normally where I store mine and I try to keep a conscious mind to take my iphone out of my pants before I start driving... but twice I forgot and freak out.

it's interesting reading all the replies...."you put it in your back pocket and sat on it" seems to be a popular one.

don't remember any media fuss about this bendgate though...

nor any oneofthenine website....

strange

I guess there are people who can throw up a strawman argument on any website.

Did sony say that only 9 of them bent?

you know fully well Apple released that statement only a few days after releasing the iPhone 6.....not sure why you keep stating that when there hasn't been any follow up or update from Apple on the number of complaints for almost 4 weeks now.....

I hope they don't come up with a new number. I would have to register a new domain then :p

Links fixed now.
The z1 is only a year old.
All were under warranty when they bent and virtually all have been refused warranty cover.
Most importantly, the z1 is still being sold by Sony.
A few posts ago your criteria for inclusion on your site was simply large numbers and a company's refusal to replace the phone under warranty. Now, after being given an example of different company's phone bending, the phones have to be brand new and apart from that you're too busy?

Thanks for the advice. If no more iPhones bend then definitely the site will die.

screens wont stop cracking likewise phones will keep on bending because people sit on them and carry them while doing extreme sports etc etc...

it's the rate of sold phones to bent phones that's important here.

anything less than 1% is negligible = 0

at the moment you're more likely to catch Ebola than to bend your iPhone 6 or 6+

If it's possible to get answers from the future, can someone let me know what the powerball is going to be in 6 months? Much more useful info, in my mind.

Visited my local Apple store yesterday, sure enough, the SG+ was bent, lol. Guessing someone had a go at it in store to test the bending theory. Anyway having it bent on display is a poor showing IMHO.

This looks like a good cause. Certainly I have had my issues with the poor quality of Xperia build quality and support before in the past. I say go for it. Let me know what you need to get started.

Inclusion in my current site requires it to be one of the nine bent iPhones apple mentioned but I fully support this endeavour to hold sony to account.

Jesus are you just trying to be or are you really THAT dumb?

doesnt matter. Apple said there were only nine, yet you can clearly see that isnt the case.

And you came to this conclusion how? Please, DO explain.

Apple released a statement 3 weeks ago....you can't keep quoting a statement as if it's actual.

even if it was 100K bent phones it would still be in relation to how many phones sold and in use.

100K would still be about 1% or maybe even less.....

I asked Tim Cook for updated numbers already and he didn't reply :(

A contributer was quoted the 'nine customers had bent phones' by staff in a UK apple store yesterday though.
