Rumors point to two models with larger screens that could leave buyers asking, iPhone 6 4.7-inch vs iPhone 6 5.5-inch, which one is best?

Each day that passes brings new iPhone 6 rumors and pulls us closer to an actual iPhone 6 release date, or dates, as well as an announcement that will finally show potential buyers what Apple’s plans are for 2014. A recent Apple product roadmap includes a new Apple TV, iWatch, a new MacBook Air and many other products in addition to two new iPhones.

4.7" is too small, 5.5" is too big. 5" is working perfect from my phones i have had in the last 6 weeks. 5S, Moto G, note 3, M8, now S5 :)

I'm on a 3.5" device that is approaching nearly 4 years old now. It will be 4 in August. It's probably already 4 if you include the manufacturing date. My point is, whatever is available first (4.7 or 5.5) I will get that. A 1.2" increase will be overwhelming! (Not emotionally or physically, but look at that jump in screen real-estate!)

I'm the same way. I'm currently using a 4S so a 4.7" screen will be a pretty big jump for me.

Regardless of screen I need LTE since I'm on Verizon, I can no longer stand there 3G. Touch ID would be nice too.

However depending on reviews I may still wait a couple months for iOS 8.1 or whatever. I've been skeptical of getting a new device from Apple on release. Plus depending on how iOS 8 functions with a larger screen I want devs to have some time to update their apps if required.

I don't want a screen size larger than 4" Maybe I'm in the minority but having had every major phone out there, the 4" screen size is the sweetspot

I thought I wanted the 4.7" but after playing with my friends Note 3 I'm on the fence. If both sizes are available at the same time then I'll get the 5.5". If the 4.7" is available first then I'll go with that. I'll just be happy to have a phone with a larger screen while staying in the iPhone family.

Going for the 4.7" model, this is the ideal size for me :), imo if there would be 5.5" model they will announce it with the 4.7" model.

I think its going to be nice having 4.7" but 4.0" choice with latest silicone would be nice too.

Also, I've already had a galaxy nexus and nexus 5, so having a big screen isn't going to be as much of a novelty or as exciting as I feel people are making it out to be.

I will still likely upgrade from my iPhone 5, especially once it gets jailbreak

I disagree completely. I had a note 3 and it really wasn't that bad at all. I found myself using the note 3 more than my tablet. I switched back to iphone because iOS is better. Android was pissing me off.

I agree - 5.5" phones are just monstrous. The thing about phablets is they have a nice big screen, but the experience is still inferior to a tablet. So you end up having to handle an unwieldy device that doesn't work as well as a full blown tablet.

they will announce both at the same time but not give an exact release date on the 5.5 screen

i will wait for 5.5

I think the only version we'll see is the 4.7", the 5.5" is just another rumour that's grown horns.

All the leaks point to a 4.7" and this notion that Apple will bring out the 4.7 one month and the 5.5 the next just doesn't cut it.

I got my 5s in February and I'm more than happy with it so I'm in no rush to upgrade.

I feel the 4.7 will be a noticeably larger form factor than other 4.7 phones, same with the 5.5. This makes the screen size benefit less appealing due to form factor.
And if the iPhone again had a weird aspect ratio, that is another negative.

2 steps forward and one back possibly

I won't get the bigger phones.

If forced, I'll move to another brand. I'm not getting any larger, not interested in an oversized phone or a man purse.

I'm getting so tired of waiting that I'm no longer excited. So what's another few months to see if a 5.5 is real

Sell your skinny jeans then

I would hold off if Apple releases a 5.5 first. I have no interest in that. Personally hoping for a 4.3 with roughly the same as current dimensions.

4.7 here

My SIL dropped my 4s, resulting in a small crack in the glass at the back of the phone. I now, unfortunately, do not have the luxury of waiting for the 5.5, if it is not on offer at the same time as the 4.7 iPhone 6.

I have small hands, so the 5.5 is probably more phone than I can handle:)

I always jump to a new phone when I can because:
1 in the US we pay subsidies no matter what with AT&T. So I feel like I am taking more money away from AT&T by always getting a new phone. I know I have already lost....
2 Value of old phones go down with time. So by selling ASAP I am recouping more of my money.

Whether or not its the new Phone or not does not matter because of the Carrier subsidy model here in the US. However if that model changed or I went to T-Mobile I would get every other model for reason #2

I'm holding off a bit. I wanna hold it first, see how it fits in my hand.

All these rumors and mock ups have have me thinking apple is personally trolling us. They are setting us up and I think that they will unveil something totally different. I trust Johnny Ive's taste, I know whatever the real iphone 6 looks like will be dope. I would prefer a 4.7 inch screen. I'm not big on the 5.5 inch idea. I've had an upgrade since Feb 1st so come on now Apple.

What brand? What phone?

I would prefer 5.5" iPhone personally.

No. I plan to buy the new 4.7" phone right away, assuming I like the features. (Which I imagine I will.) I have an iPhone 4, and my son has a 5C. I really don't want anything bigger than 4.7". I think that will be easier on my eyes but still small enough for one-handed use, to slip in my pocket, etc. I do hope to get an iPad at some point for travel.
