This is WAY early on my part, as I've only been testing a few hours, but i see NO lagging, skipping, freezing on my new Mighty Mouse. I did read somewhere that 10.5.7 fixes "bluetooth connectivity" issues, so hopefully this is fixed 100%. I'm going to continue to test another few days before i report back after now though.

Just to say, no mouse problems for me either after 10.5.7, but to be fair my connection was only dropping about once a week... To soon to tell if all is truly well, but so far so good...

Hey Everyone

Since the 10.5.7 update on Thursday everything is running really well. No drop outs related to the previous problems *Touch wood

The only problem that I have had which is caused by the time capsule I just bought is when a large backup of data is happening my bluetooth keyboard will display that its dropped but still works fine.. LOL I can live with that!

So hopefully all goes well and this continues to work fine! and work like the product i thought I was buying in the first place..

Keep us updated ppl

I think it's safe to say from my personal experience and from what everyone else has posted... 10.5.7 fixed this! I've gone another day with 10.5.7 with zero freezes, drops, lags, skips, etc.

Yay for 10.5.7!

Since installing 10.5.7 the wireless mouse has been better. However, it is still occurring. I am still sending Capture info back to the Apple Tech. It happened again tonight. AGH!

Yes 10.5.7 didn't fix this head ache with the bluetooth MM.

Its not just the Imacs. I just bought a wireless MM for my MB and the thing will stop responding after like an hour or so, out of nowhere. I have to use my trackpad to disconnect and re-connect the damn thing on the bluetooth menu bar. It has happened already twice since the 1st day of purchase, starting to piss me too.

It's not the computers bluetooth either cuz i have a logitech BT mouse that never disconnected on me like that.

For me update did fix the problem. Both mouse and keyboard are working just fine:) not a single disconnect

mine never froze or lost connection. is that you guys problem? my problem is that when I turn off the mouse and turn it on again (after booting up the mac or just when I turn it off when watching a movie etc to save battery) then it won't connect. so I'll have to use my ipod as a mouse and navigate to the bluetooth icon on the top of the screen and then search for a new mouse and pair the mother****er again. doesn't happen a lot but it happens too often still

When I had the MM, I would be using it for like an hour or so and then all of a sudden it wouldn't track anymore or be functional. What I did was I disconnected and reconnected it using my trackpad and it would for again. Got annoyed by that and so therefore returned it and kept on using my other BT mouse.

Hmm, I thought it was a general bluetooth problem with the new Mac's.. Does it only regard MM? As I said mine almost works perfectly, but there are still times when my mac mini can't find the mouse.. Which sucks

I have a 2009 iMac 2.93 GHz with the Mighty Mouse and still have the connectivity problems... I am not sure what Apple is going to do about this, but the dropping of conenction/freezing up is getting annoying.

Well they're sure ain't gonna do nothing if you don't call and complain about it. Seriously this is something that should have been taken care of a long time ago.

How long have the wireless mighty mice been out?

I called them back in March when I first received the iMac and spoke to product specialist after escalating the issue. In the end, they said to wait for a firmware/software update to fix the problem with the mighty mouse and the iMac. I recently updated to 10.5.7 and the issue persists. I am back on the phone with Apple now and will see what happens. They did replace the mouse once when I first called in March, but that solved nothing...

I love my iMac, but hope Apple corrects this issue. They are hearing my voice...

My late 08 had the same issues. I finally threw in the towel and went wired for the mouse but soldiered on w/the keyboard. Tried 2 BT keyboards - both the original white BT and truncated shortie alu model and had it drop out every 2 days or so. Would drive me crackers because the kids/missus would be calling me up while I was golfing etc to try and fix it (normally a restart).

10.5.7 does seem to have fixed it for me.

does anyone with a bluetooth mouse that is NOT an mighty mouse experience these problems?

I just bought an 09 Mac Mini, hoping to be able to use it with my 50" plasma as a monitor. Unfortunately I can't get myGearhead bluetooh keyboard and mouse installed on the mini. I have tried several times with the same result. The mini finds the signal but will not finalize the pairing part of the installation. I thought the mouse and keyboard may have been faulty so I tried installing them on my Macbook G4 and they worked perfectly right away. I was thinking of trying a different brand of keyboard and mouse, but based on all the feed back here and on other forums it seems I may need to get in touch with Apple and have them do some troubleshooting.

wow ay!
today was the first day I had a random drop out since 10.5.7 was released. However this was slightly different.. I could recover the mouse by clicking it a few times.. Hopefully this was a unrelated problem to previously lol

Was going so WELL too!

I'm still having problems - is everyone else? In my case, my wireless MM freezes about once every hour or two. I don't get the "Lost Connection" message, it just stops responding. I then use my trackpad to toggle the "Discoverable" option in my Bluetooth settings and it comes back.

It's pretty frustrating. I also have an Apple bluetooth keyboard and I never have a connection problem with that.

I'm not sure when it started happening exactly, but it was definitely in 10.5.6 and of course still exists in 10.5.7.

Mine does start acting strange every so often, e.g. not clicking, but it doesn't disconnect. Then again, I didn't have problems before the update.

On the iMac I have not yet had my mighty mouse disconnect on me at all yet. On my MB however I have had it disconnect (unresponsive) a few times. Doesn't happen very often though.

Same here. Since 10.5.7, I occasionally lose my both MM/white BT keyboard. Usually turning Bluetooth off/on from the menu fixes the problem, which is a minor pain, but once in a while I have to restart. That greatly aggravates the tuchus.

I have updated the OS x to 10.5.7 and both the wireless keyboard nad mouse appears to be working fine. There is the occasional drop in connection about once in 2 weeks but other than that, no more problems. Strange. It appears that the OS update solved the problem for some but not for others. However, instead of turning on and off the bluetooth from the menu bar, i just have to turn the keyboard or mouse on and off once. The bluetooth auto detect and reconnect immediately.

I really hope that Apple can finally issue an update to solve all the issues regarding the stupid bluetooth. It has been bugging the users for YEARS. Makes me really wonder if it is hardware inherent like the nvidia issue and all this software updates are to mask the problem??
