Gurman has a really good track record and he said in a tweet tonight that Apple TV was delayed until 2021 so looking more and more likely it’s not that.

I guess we’ll find out in less than 12hrs... too many possibilities, but certainly no “stocking stuffer” kind of product...

that mockup is just so bad.

I'm sorry to the artist for saying these harsh words. I'm sure you were given the details and had to come up with the look as best as you could, but it's just a typical 90's headphone look and I'd be very surprised if Apple released something that looked like this.
Actually, now that you mention it, the rendering does looks like CG from the 90s too.
Maybe that’s playing a big part in it. Looking at the shadows, it totally looks like 2 spot lights (or point lights for that matter).

If it doesn’t work in the shower...

On the other hand, if it does not, maybe have marketing avoid the topic this time.
On second thought, I am going to forgo buying the rumored headphones, especially at the rumored $300+ price. My AirPods Pro are working fine as are my PowerBeats Pro.

I am going to keep tabs on getting a M1 early next year.

Seems very late for a Christmas release. They will not be cheap to purchase.
If they are being released as a Christmas present, let's hope Apple has a lot more stock availability than the Homepod mini.

I hope so.

Not gonna happen though, releasing some headphones nobody asked for is exactly what I expect from Apple these days.

In fairness, the headphones nobody asked for have a tendency to work out rather nicely for Apple hence I’d expect to see more in that field to keep the ball rolling.

You must be forgetting the original AirPods we’re released right before Christmas in 2016. And they were the hottest gift instantly
The original AirPods were announced on September 7, 2016, and slated for a late October 2016 release.
In mid October, they were facing production difficulties, so they delayed them until December. But people still knew they were coming.
AirPods Pro were announced on October 28, 2019 and shipped on October 30.

I wish apple had bought Bowers and Wilkins, the finest speaker company in my opinion. I have a few speakers from them, works well with apple products and airplay. I have one headphone from them for about 9 years and it works superb like it has since day one.

Why would they launch another intel? Did they claim they would?
Well, first of all, they have announced a new Intel computer since they announced the transition. The iMac with 10th genprocessors was introduced in August.
Secondly, the 16 inch MacBook Pro was last updated in November 2019, and isn’t expected to get Apple silicon until the second half of 2021. It makes no sense for them to leave one of their most popular computers untouched for almost 2 years.
Thirdly, in a recent finalcut pro update, Apple referenced a 2020 MacBook Pro 16 inch, when all the models they currently sell are labeled as 2019.
And it just makes sense, there are some people who are not gonna want to move to Apple Silicon right away, and Apple already introduced a version of the iMac that should last people who want to stick with Intel quite a long time, so it would make sense for them to also do it with their most powerful laptop.
But this is it. If there is a MacBook Pro 16 inch tomorrow, I think it will be the very last Intel Mac that we ever see.

The only thing these headphones would have in common with B&W is price.

I think that Apple will wait until the new iPad pros with A14X are announced in spring 2021, and then they will announce a new Apple TV also with A14X.
It’s what happened in 2017, the last time the Apple TV was updated. It got the same chip that had recently been put into that year‘s iPad pros, the A10X.
But I wouldn’t mind Apple introducing an “Apple TV Mini.”
It would be a little HDMI stick, using a basic A12 or something in that ballpark.
Price around 80 bucks, and you’ve got yourself a hit.

We will find out tomorrow, but was hoping for a new Apple TV as I use that a lot and needed a new one. Was crossing my fingers a A12Z would bring actual 4K60 YouTube similar to current A12 iOS devices. Probably a last intel Mac update before completing moving to Apple Silicon next year and 2022. Will reliable leakers saying no to Apple TV and AirPods Studio has me lukewarm and low expectations.

I'd be excited is new Apple TV, M1X 16" MacBook Pro or AirPods Studio. But I doubt any of those are coming.

“Good for winter.”
