I have advocated that Apple should really stop doing yearly product announcement events for a couple of years now. It raises expectations too much and makes people crazy.
Eh...the yearly product announcements are what keep people sane. If any other popular product became the vaporous wonder that the Mac is, it would be a nightmare.

My dumb ass wanted to feel fancy for series 5 so I got the stainless model and while it is very nice I do regret it. I also bought it through AT&T so I literally just paid the last $300 I owe. My only complaint right now is that the battery isn’t lasting as long as I’d like it to. I can’t see upgrading for a minor health feature and a little bigger of a screen though.

My 4 LTE has been having battery issues lately as well. I use to wear it 23.5 hours per day and only charge 30 minutes, I could do this all week and then sleep without the device on one of the weekend days to bring it back up to 100%. Now I have to charge it back to full or near full every morning or else it will die in the middle of the night.

This device does not have the always-on display so it will be interesting to see how that affects battery life. Google says Apple rates the 4 at 18 hours, but it says the same for 5 and 6, and I was getting +/-23 out of my 4 for 2.5 years. Perhaps I am not a heavy user of the device.

I would really like to know more about the Golf workout that provided how far drives went. is that something only the new watch will do? I just can't seem to find any info on that.

No prices is a really weird one. Almost like Tim is trying to raise the prices by another 100 but the web designers won't let him haha.

Or maybe JUST MAYBE they are free for day 1 haha.

Is there an Oct event announced? I thought I saw a rumor for 10/12, but I don’t think I ever saw an article making that official.

I really want the details on the MBPs!
They haven't announced the event yet so odds are it won't be the 12th. The announcement typically comes a week before the event so now we're looking at 10/19 possibly.

They announced the S7 Watch in a Keynote to the world, so Apple seems this worthy of advanced attention but then shares minimal info on specific model choices. That’s the difference
They did the same thing with The 2013 Mac Pro, the original Apple Watch, the iMac Pro, the original HomePod and the 2019 MacPro.
Announce the base model pricing, and reveal everything else when it becomes available.
I remember back in 2019 in June when people flipped out about the MP starting at 6,000… only to find out the day that it launched that that 6000 could go over 54,000 if they really wanted to

They make way too much money doing it every year, so they won't be changing that.
Agree. It's up to people to not feel FOMO and just keep what they have for a couple of years. Imagine the changes in upgrading your phone/ipad every 2 or 3 years and your watch every 4 years.

I just want to know if it is thicker than the 6 overall. They say the glass is thicker but is this going to be like going from the 2-3? I wasn't a fan of the thickness of the 3 compared to all other models.

And there are people who still don't believe they scrapped Prototype A at the last minute.

I’m one of them. How is any of this evidence of that? They couldn’t decide the price because they changed course at the last minute? They changed course at the last minute so the release date is 2 weeks later than expected? Poppycock.

I’m betting on either October 26 or November 9 personally.
The Mac event last year was on November 10, so November 9 wouldn’t be that unexpected.
Not to mention, it’s very likely that both macOS Monterey and iOS 15.1 will launch immediately after the event, and 15.1 is only on Beta 3 and Monterey is still at least a beta or two away from release candidate.

I find it weird that they pulled the "Space Gray" color and went with Midnight in that spot. I wouldn't mind if they added midnight, but I am a bit perturbed that they pulled the traditional gray. As something that you wear on your wrist and buy bands that match that color, I want to have a matching combo and the Midnight color will now force me to sit on the sidelines for this year's version of the watch.

I like to prepare and not do it half azzzzed.Apple didn't even exist when the Stones wrote that.
Well then here’s how you should prepare.
Look at the series 6 pricing right now, and find the model you want.
Then add $100 just in case the price goes up.
Then tomorrow when the prices are revealed, you can be pleasantly surprised if it’s not $100 more expensive, and get your order in

I went from 4 to 6, sleep with it on and the "always on" not on. I have to charge my watch during the morning routine and for about 30 minutes after workout in the evening. Never have an issue with the battery.

Nevertheless, lots of folks will surely be ordering one, especially those with watches that are 2 or 3 generations old.

Apple's website will also naturally have a more complete description of the Watch 7 tomorrow, so anyone who really wants to study the differences will have the ability to do that before ordering.

I really don't see this as such a big problem or issue. Don't order one until you know enough about it to be sure it is what you want or need!
I completely agree. With limited quantities in the first place, there will be enough buyers. I’m quite impressed with the display. I’m getting one.

I think they know it is going to get a lukewarm reception of this item. They didn't want people digging in and saying, "Wow, this is just an S year... both iPhone 12S and watch 6S."

One thing we do know is that it still has that atrocious red ring on the cellular models... And on topic it's really strange that all of the lineup's pricing hasn't been revealed. Personally I work in spaces where I'm not allowed 2-way comms, so I don't wear my Watch enough to justify upgrading more than every 3-4 years. Hopefully next year is a more substantial upgrade.
The red ring bothers you that much? Really?

Rather than buy a new Apple Watch, I’m thinking of just paying 80$ to have them replace the battery in my Series 5. Prefer the stainless steel space black finish and there aren’t any new must-have features.

A complete absence of orders tomorrow is the way to express your displeasure to Tim.
I’m not upgrading this year. One reason being this in my opinion fishy roll out. Life have taught me that if it seems fishy, something isn’t right. Like many others I’m waiting until they change the design hopefully next year. Good thing they didn’t pull this crap with iPhone launch.

All I know this AW7 will have bigger screen, on-screen keyboard, sleep tracking, quicker charging and same features as AW6.
