Offside only applies at the time that the ball was last touched by an attacking player, not after the touch.

The goalie was the last attacker to touch it.

in any case? i think most of other countries have prizes (sizeable at that) only in case they win/reach some agreed goals, but not just to be there.
granted they all make enough money on their day-jobs.
