there is nothing special about network communication outside of your lan. if this app lets you type in an ip address, and your computer has a ip thats visible from the outside world, it should work. promising that this app lets you take your work with you is a little misleading however, because the hardware you have in your home might not allow you to make your network visible to the outside world.
