Would you buy an iPhone 4 again?

sucks for you guys, i haven't had any issues with mine, I can't even replicate the signal attenuation and I've tried it in about 6 different parts of town..

i love this phone, it's super fast, the display is awesome, and it does everything I could possibly want and more..

greatest investment ever, I would do it again a hundred times over

No, I wouldn't, knowing what I know now. I'd either wait for the inevitable fixes, possibly in the white iPhone 4, or the iPhone 5.

Yes I would buy it again. But, as others have said, I may have waited through the initial rush. I can get mine to lose bars, but have never lost service. I use it more often than my p&s camera and I never use my flip anymore. Now my wife wants an iP4, but she is patient enough to wait until post update to see how things shake out (and she thinks she may want the white one).

I may be buying my fiance an iPhone 4 to thank her for all she has done in the past few months. We both currently have iPhone3GSs which we love, but the HD video is VERY appealing.

She's big into pictures, and her friend just got a FLIP that she likes, so I figured maybe the iPhone 4 would be a good alternative (given that her purse is already LOADED with junk!)

But the concerns of reception issues and proximity sensors have me worried. I never buy Apple products right after launch, since they all tend to have quirks (as is true with every other product out there).

But like I said, we're also happy with our 3GS phones.

So, especially those who upgraded their 3GS, would you buy the iPhone 4 again? Can I safely buy it soon? Or should I wait a few weeks?

And also, does the bumper case work with the dock? And does the iPhone 4 work with the TomTom car kit for iPhone 3gs?

If i had the $, JK, im with T-Mobile, and paying $600 dollars for a phone doesnt appeal to me.

absofu#%inglutely

Thats a yes, by the way.
I will say this about the Antenna problem, who buys a $600.00 phone,
and doesn't put a case on it?

It is the best phone out there. I have tried the droid, I have tried the blackberry. I would rather have the Iphone 4.

Ive had all versions, this one is the best by far. The 3GS was good, but the 4 is pretty remarkable.

I don't doubt some have issues, mine doesn't so I'm very pleased.

Your iPhone 4 has all those issues? Wow. Why not swap it for a new one? And if your phone doesn't have those issues, why bring it up?
Because its problems being documented by owners of iPhones. My wife's iPhone does exhibit some of these and she may very well return the phone as she's frustrated by its quality

No. I would have stayed with Verizon and bought the droid x. Let me explain. I get a discount through my company with verizon. Second I miss unlimited data. Third the droid seems more sturdy. Less prone to scratches and breaking. Mainly though the discount. After paying my contract out and switching I may go back and return my iPhone just to go back with verizon. My service was also better with them. I will say this. If verizon does get iPhone. Either way I will get iPhone through them. Att is just that bad.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8A293 Safari/6531.22.7)

Yes I'd buy 2

If I could convince my wife to use one!

I bought one for me and the misses and we could not be happier with the iPhone 4. It's lightyears ahead of my 3G and it's a very nice step up from her 3GS. Now we both can record video (HD nonetheless), FaceTime, and the camera is simply amazing. I can't even describe in words how much faster the iPhone 4 is over my 3G! Yes, I would buy it all over again. No issues whatsoever.

I would in a heartbeat. The "issues" are way overblown if you ask me. None of them are deal breakers for me. The camera and video are much improved and based on what you are looking for, it sounds like this would be a great upgrade...

Some people with the almighty EVO have antenna issues, also some peoples phone fell apart. Others had "yellow" spots.

But those are NOT indictitive of ALL evo's.
Same case for iPhone, the vast majority do not have the issues you listed.

It's the launch of new hardware, so some will most def have issues. In which case they can swap their phone out with no problems. But unless YOUR specific phone (or wife) has said issues, there's zero point in bringing it up.

Answer to question depends on which phone you're talking about. I love my current Iphone 4 32 gb, week 26, plant 82 black box/replacement. My first phone which i bought on launch day, week 22 phone, however, I wouldn't buy...It was crap immediate disconnect when it was in my left hand for 10 seconds with the bumper on....ear activating facetime, speaker phone, hanging up on people due to a crappy proximity sensor, something lose inside the phone...overall horrible experience. Assuming today, you get something similar to my week 26 which has none of the problems my week 22 had I wouldn't hesitate to buy....

Thats a yes, by the way.
I will say this about the Antenna problem, who buys a $600.00 phone,
and doesn't put a case on it?

who buys a $600 phone and expects to be forced to put on a case in order for it to work fully? come on...

So mostly "yes" responses thus far. And a few "No" responses.

As for the camera: She has some nice point and shoots, but whenever we go she tends to bring her little clutch... which is basically big enough for an ID and a phone. So to save my pockets (since I inevitably end up with all her crap), I figured a decent camera would make my life easier! Plus, she's not into great quality images... She just wants little snippets of things!

Verizon MAY be nicer, but I've never been happy with any carrier I've had... Plus my company does pay for discounts on AT&T as well. The Droid platform is nice, and very appealing to me, but the lack of computerized syncing (iTunes), kind of turns me off... I like the integration of my iWorld...

Oddly enough, she HATES the white. I actually carry around the white phone (I consider myself SOMETHING of an apple purist, haha), while she has the black.

And I run my phones naked: I realize it's an expensive piece, but I hate having to take things off to make it fit in docks and such. Plus it just fits so well in my pocket as is. I did run an invisible shield for a while, but the lint collecting got annoying... and I didn't like having to spray water on my new phone..

Finally, I love the 3GS (you don't think I'd buy her a phone without getting my own, do you?!). It's leaps and bounds better than the 3g I had (and the 1st generation I still have for novelty sake). I tried to get by with the 3g for a few months, but everytime I used hers, and saw how much snappier it was, I got annoyed with mine.

But the iPhone 4 doesn't feel leaps and bounds better than the 3GS... which along with the troubles I keep reading about makes me wonder if I should upgrade or find a better gift!
