I wouldn't due to Android catching on and for the following reasons.

1) ETF raised to $325
2) Later this year and early next most carriers will be on 4G or equivalent data speeds. iPhone 4 will be old technology when that happens and you're locked in an expensive ETF contract.
3) Possibility of a Verizon iPhone this winter. Not sure if I would jump on their network, but would still like the option.
4) Tethering option stinks (can't broadcast wifi hotspot). Costs more and requires a limited data plan.
5) Hate the idea of owning a defective phone with the known antenna problem.
6) Would like to avoid a new 2 year contract.

After owning the 1st 3 models, this is the first one that I'm least excited about. I haven't had any dropped calls or proximity issues however the os just seems a bit bland and outdated.

I've also used the Nexus One for a little while and miss it. With the latest 2.2 update I can natively create a wifi hotspot w/ WPA2 support. I also like that the phone is on the forefront of android updates with a major one coming in later this year.

I'll be returning mine this week. I'm glad the restocking fee was waived.

When I grip my phone tightly in my left hand and I'm in certain areas, my bars drop. I am kinda worried about dropping it.

I also have taken a bunch of really nice photos and a great little video of my daughter with iMovie for iPhone. I had FaceTime calls with both my wife and kids when I was away from home for awhile.

Yes, I would buy it again. I would assume anyone that said they wouldn't, ought to just return it now while they can.

Yes, I would. I'll be happy when the 4.0.1 update is released and issues are corrected. Well, some.

Just got my phone and so far have had 0 reception, camera, or proximity sensor problems. :D

This screen is great.

No, I would not.

I hold my phone naturally by the "death grip". When I do so, it blocks off wi-fi even if I'm near the router.

Telling people to hold something so fragile in a different way other than what you're most comfortable with is ridiculous. I've had many close calls with dropping my phone from switching hands. I know it's bound to happen.

I'm an idiot for selling my 3gs on craigslist so prematurely.

Ifyou are in a decent AT&T service area by all means buy the phone. Despite all the reported problems it is a wonderful device.

Do I own one? Yes. Have I had the antenna issue? Yes -- by apples own admission all phones have some degree of antenna attenuation. Would I buy it again???? Yes, over and over if necessary! The screen is gorgeous, surfing is incredibly fast, and face time is a rare glimpse of the future.

The bumper fixed my antenna issue completely and I do not have yellow screen, proximity sensor problems, etc. I've also stopped reading the litany of complaints. That's the best advice I can give you, actually. Stop reading about the problems and just get one. I think your finance will be delighted.

What he/she said - I live in a St Louis suburb and get great service. If I REALLY TRIED, I could get the signal to drop a little...but I never dropped a call since putting on a Bumper I never have an issue.

Great phone, bought 2 for my kids, and looking forward to replacing my wife's 3G in time...

No - i miss my 3gs issue free!!! reception issue is REAL the proximity senor while holding it on ur left shoulder is bloody annoying constantly pressing buttons and it takes longer to wake up than a 3g or 3gs FACT ive tested it with lots of models and lets not forget about the green flash the screen makes in sun light when waking the lcd screen up which i may add does not do it on any of the older models!!!! the phone feels like its been rushed and poorly tested

I would've have waited definitely and if there was no adequate response from Apple i'd have looked elsewhere.

I would buy another one again. After you get over the self-righteous crusade of wanting a free Bumper because of the antenna, get a case you are happy with, there isn't really any issues with it. I know some people have the proximity sensor issue but I've never had a problem with mine.

It's an awesome phone.
