So you get to determine why people buy the Xr? A lot of people can't stand using the OLED screen without getting headaches and prefer LCD. Some people want better battery life. They DECIDE on their own. Obviously, you own an X and want to defend it so you decide to trash something else to feel better about yourself. I get it. But all the nonsense going around about it when we all own Apple iPhones and we all should be a family is just ridiculous. All I see in this forum is why the Xr sucks when most of the people that complain about it probably never even used it.

Trash it ? So anybody who doesn’t like the XR is trashing it and defending the X? Lmao. The XR sucks because of the 720p resolution not because of the LCd screen. You obviously can’t read because I NEVER said LCD in my post but only mentioning resolution and screen size. At 6.1 720P ( 720P +) is horrible for Lcd OLED or anything else in 2018 ( when the phone was released ) . You have an agenda so good bye

Of the 18M or so iPhones that Apple sells every month, it's reasonable that the Xs, XR and Max each sell millions. The last time Apple released sales figures, the SE/6/6S combined sold only 5,400 units.
I doubt it's merely 5,400. That's probably 5,400 multiplied by 1,000 or something.

So close in price....I don’t think you can decide based upon that. Just pick which one suits your needs. I would choose the XR.

Yes. Millions.

Apple doesn’t sell millions of XR per month ... they have been said to be disappointing sales figures so no not millions. Keep on dreaming buddy

Iirc, Apple sells ~200+ million units of iPhones a year. I can see how sales of 2 million or more Xr units a month may still be considered disappointing.

Avoid refurbished products.

Unless of course, refurbished devices that are direct from Apple, those I would consider, simply because they are stringently tested and are like new. However, other refurbished devices from third parties, I would pass on.

For people coming from an non-plus 6, 6s, 7 or 8, the display has the SAME 326ppi so I don't see the problem here.
Even coming from a Plus-model like I did I don't really see how the display sucks at all... However, I might not have the best eyesight after working in IT for nearly 20 years now o_O:confused:

But also my "non-IT-nerd" girlfried, who switched from a Moto G Plus (1080p) to the XR does not see a difference, she does simply not care about specs and that's what most iPhone buyers do... WE here on that forum are the exception, not the regular iPhone user/buyer... ;)

I say XR. X was a dog for me, FID is rubbish on it, worst iPhone I have had and have had them all. Since have had the max then a 8 now a XR. V2 FID is much better.

My brother got the X because he thinks the XR's screen sucks. I got the XR because I think the screen is good and the A12 is more future proof.
The screen seems to be the most contentious feature for most people. The other features like size, camera, bezels, battery life are much less controversial discussed although they are important to many.
In the end you will never get everyone to agree on the screen. Go to a shop and compare the phones (XR, X, XS, 8+, S9, Pixel 2, Pixel 3........) and see if you like the screen. Then buy whatever you prefer.

Considering the lack of lines I don’t think people are lining out to buy one. They might of sold 2 million sold since release but aren’t selling millions per month if it. For what it’s worth I could see somewhere between 2-5 million of them sold total.

The whole ppi thing is just numbers. It has the same on a bigger screen which isn’t exactly a good thing. In 2018 it should of been a 1080p screen. Comparing phones side to side you’ll notice the inferior screen.

Unless you are referring to one country only then I think it’s safe to assume far more than 2 million XR’s have been sold on the global market.

Canalys estimates Apple shipped 22 million units of iPhone XR in Q4'2018.

Try 22 million units sold so far.

Apple sells about 50 million units of iPhone per quarter. CIRP estimates 39% of those units are iPhone XR. That's 6.5 million per month. Even if we cut that estimate in half, that's over 3 million units per month.

At that price the iPhone X is a great phone.... To be honest that's probably the price Apple should have set from the beginning when the X launched.

If apple is pricing a REFURBISHED iPhone X higher than the iPhone XR then shouldn't it be better overall....?
If having a higher res OLED screen and 2nd lens and smaller screen defines "better" for you then the X is better. Everything else is pretty much better on the XR

I really do believe Apple was testing the market with the price of the 2017 iPhone X. They themselves had no idea what the response was going to be for a $1000 smart phone, and that was just for the base model/storage. Realistically, they wanted to see what they could get away with, and unfortunately, with China’s commerce and consumers retaining their devices longer due to iOS 12 and the battery exchange program, it didn’t help them long term, which is why Tim Cook mentioned they are restrategizing by looking at trade-ins and store services for the future.

I got my Xr 64gb brand new off gumtree for $700AUD, the X 64gb on release i paid $1579, crazy.

Xr easily. Bigger screen, bigger battery, faster processor, dual sim...I think the main reason anyone would prefer the X over it is bc they prefer the smaller size to it. I bought my mom a 256gb red Xr last night after she decided on it over the Xs and Max and she came from a 4+ year old iPhone 6 and she loves it.
