On topic: I think a 6 series is a luxury phone to a degree. If you think about it, Audi, Benz, And Bmw heavily promote Iphone compatibility. Have you seen Bmw and similar high end car companies work with Samsung? I thought so.

I've noticed the iPhone is the choice of people who have money, and android is for those that would rather steal!

I've read a few good points throughout this thread;

As noted on the previous page, luxury can be seen by many as being exclusive. Having said this, I wouldn't classify the iPhone 6 as being a luxury smartphone, especially when any individual can obtain one.

Yes, I am "new" here as far as registration, but have been coming to these forums for awhile, while I am currently an android user, I am formrely an iphone user, having owned iphone 3,3gs, 4s, 5s, and a 1st gen ipad, I mainly used these forums just as a source of information when I would run into a problem with one of my devices and never really felt a need to post anything, I still frequent these forums out of habit, and because I have a 14,17,and 18 year old that still use iphones/ipod touch so I do still need information from time to time, but I am in no way an android user that is a drastic "hater" of apple or their devices.

That being said, it is funny you should say that as I have nevery felt the need or want to steal, I am an android user at present, and to go along with your idea that people that use android would rather steal, iphones are the "most stolen mobile devices".

While the term is relative to circumstance, I do consider the iPhone to be a luxury smartphone, but it is a luxury phone to begin with. Take it for what it is, a tool. We don't need the smartphone. I am taking a worldly view of luxury and the iPhone is definitely a luxury when comparing first worlds to third worlds, even though we may live in the first world where everything is for granted.

Nope. iPhones are mass produced, and aimed towards the broader market. Not that it means all that much, but I generally don't see a lot of "luxury" items being sold at WalMart and Target.

If you want to look at a luxury phone, maybe the Vertu phones will reset your view of what that market actually looks like.

To me that is not luxury, that is just expensive. Luxury != expensive

To me this is typically a product for the nouveau riche, but definitely not luxury...

Neither is an iPhone or any phone to be honest, it is a phone....Luxury could be not having a phone ;)

I am not sure of that. Android has a range of phones, from cheap $100 Xiaomi phones to the Samsung note phone which costs more than an iPhone 6. That said, i have used the latest Samsung Galaxy phones for at least 5 years and blackberry phones before that. When ever I travelled overseas i used to see many IPhone owners in Asia would keep their iPhones on the dinner table. Some would be horrified that an American would not have an iPhone. So yes, in many countries iPhones are perceived as a luxury product. But in the US where a subsidized phone may cost the same, it may not be seen as a luxury product, at least not in the type of people who are in my circle of friends and relatives.

Why would they work with Samsung? Google makes android and audis next cars will support both CarPlay and android auto. Then the rest of the vw brand will follow. Which also includes Bentley Bugatti and Porsche and eventually lambo will follow. This thread is stupid and you're insecure. And you just got pw3nd
