Well, my rMBP A02A is definitely yellow on the top left side, it's really annoying me. It's hardly visible on a pic, but it's there, especially on safari top bar.

How are yours ? Really the same on both side ?

Can't tell based on your photo. Best way is to turn brightness up to the max and bring up a totally white screen. Like about:blank. Then maximize the window and see how it looks.

To my eyes, it's not visible at all on a white screen. I can barely see it on the pic I posted, even if the colors are not like this in real, it's not the same left and right the address.

I compared my apple logo of my 2014 RMBP with a friend's 2012 RMBP having an A014 model and his logo was pure white and mine was pink to another level but i guess as many people are experiencing the same it might be normal.
Also his screen was much more better in contrast and brightness compared to mine which is weird as the early models had a lot of issues. Mine on the other hand suffers from the yellow tint

If white looks white you're all good.

Pinkish Apple logo is totally normal. Seriously people, stop worrying about it. Every retina 13" at the Apple store has pinkish logo and every one I've tried has had a pinkish logo. My current one has a pinkish Apple logo and screen is perfect. If it bothers you, buy the new RMB with solid logo ;)

mine is also like that. yellow tint on left side. you can tell by looking at the safari bar and white pages look yellow on the left. I've gone through a bunch of exchanges and there is always a yellow tint somewhere, either on the left, the right, the bottom. still trying to find an A02A with even tint. does anyone with an A02A have perfect uniformity? the A029s I had came with perfect screen uniformity but they all had image retention.

I would say that the a02a i have does posses perfect uniformity. I can't see anything i'd describe as different. I am not uncommonly sensitive to it, but as I look at it, i wouldn't say so.

Infact my A02A screen got a slight yellow tint at the bottom. But like i really need to focus to see it. It's almost unoticeable. . I'm gonna keep it anyway :)

I understand your position, the thing is I don't need to focus to see it. Plus, it has a weird half inch bluer at bottom, really noticeable in full screen, especially on a white page (like this forum).

That sucks ! I would go for a replacement too as i did with my first unit

Guys I possibly had the worse incident possibly.
Just when i was struggling with my mac's screen issues, this happened.
I accidentally broke my charger, though it working but its completely crushed.

Will Apple replace it under warranty? Is there anyway I can pitch it to them to do so?
Can I continue to use this charger by using tape or something?

The replacement charger is too expensive and I won't be able to afford it at all :'(

You can always try, but like you told us it's your fault. I don't think we can tell you what might happen. If it still works, that's very good tho.

Also look on Craigslist or your local equivalent for used adapters on the cheap. I also know that there are knock off adapters that are much cheaper online, sometimes as little as 25$ compared to buying it from Apple.

Good luck.

I agree it's my fault but I would definitely want Apple to replace it since I am already suffering from a screen which is piss yellow and that is entirely their fault.

What is the best way to tell them the story?
If they ask me what exactly happened, what shall i say?
Shall I apply electrical tape around the corners where it is crushed?

If they gave you a bad screen, get it replaced or return it. It doesn't mean they owe you.

If the broken adapter is preventing an exchange then they might allow the new one to come in before you return the current one so the bad adapter doesn't prevent that return (put the new adapter in with the return and keep the bad one) . That sounds reasonable.

I'm not being rude to you, wish you luck and they might be nice to you, but this is a widely read public forum. Not really really the place to get advice about tricking apple store employees.

I don't have apple stores only apple authorized service providers in my country who refuse to change my screen because according to them it is alright.
I'm not asking people to give me advice to trick them all I'm saying is that I'm sorry but Im frustrated with Apple and how they work especially regarding the quality and standard of their products.

Will duct tape help?

----------

Also does it look like an accidental damage or can I say that the wire wore out while wrapping it or something?

This is the best I've had so far (tried 4). It just gets to the point where it's not worth the effort. Build quality, battery life, speed, etc, all flawless but I can't get an Apple product with a colour accurate screen to save my life.

What are you comparing it to? Are you comparing it to a properly calibrated monitor?

Yes of course. I calibrate using an i1 Display Pro. That photo is comparing the monitor to a Dell U2412M, which has been calibrated. That photo is also of the MacBook after calibration. I have owned Airs, 15" Pro Retinas and iMacs and I've never owned one where the display didn't exhibit a yellow tint. That's not to say they don't exist, I've seen display models and friend's Macs that are very accurate, but in my experience they are hard to find.

just a short update... the computer continues to be great in all ways, once I got a good screen, which i find phenomenal. I dont want to be a scare monger, i really dont, but i personally would not accept an A029 in place of this, which i find has beautiful whites and even better once i advanced-calibrated it.

Of course, i may be saying that because i'm used to the screen now, but anyway.

With skylake rMBP less than a year away if you have an older laptop you probably want to wait.. although with a redesign likely next refresh, it might be better to get this highly tested design instead of a new, untested 1st gen of something likely thinner. But if you can't/don't want to wait, I do appreciate the lower power usage and faster graphics. Most of all, i like that when im just web-browsing, the fan is usually completely off (0rpm), something i think is accentuated by broadwell being a drop in replacement for haswell, so that the thermal headroom in the laptop is "oversized" for the proc. That's how I see it.

just a post to put somethin' new up on the thread.

Hi,

I just asked myself something about the serial number of my new rMBP. It's not arrived yet, but it's a replacement and it's on the invoice. This new one begins by C17, while the two I send back were C02, as pretty much all I've seen here.

Does anybody knows the meaning of the 3 first characters ?

Thanks:)

I don't think QC was at all perfect under Jobs, but it's taken a noticeable dive over the years increasingly.

I'll chalk the little abnormality in my screen up to be a unique watermark assigned only to me, so if anyone leaks (or in this case physically steals) my 2015 13" rMBP, they and thadoggfather (oh, referring to oneself in 3rd person-- the joys) are gonna be having some problems, doubling down on secrecy here. haha

Apple QC sucks. Screen uniformity sucks on Apple products

i think it's the manufacturing location, but they may have changed things. This link is from 2010 pointing out a new serial number format, but i dont know if it is still the same.
