Same price as what Microsoft is charging for Copilot+. I’m using the non-premium version and it works just fine as part of the Microsoft package. Based on the history of Siri, I don’t have a lot of confidence in Apple’s ability to pull this off. Maybe a year from now, but I’ll stick with what works. 🤷‍♂️

You could not pay me to use "Apple Intelligence" or any other AI product, at least not in my lifetime, much less me paying Apple or anybody else for the privlege. Almost all of AI looks and seems vaguely fake and synthetic. I am just not sold on the concept. I shudder that the "free" sections of "AI" will be resource and storage hogs and bog down processing. I hope tech companies don't go so whole hog on it that it starts to ruin operating systems. I also would not be surprised to see a future "AI" bubble develop that does damage to Wall Street.

should such a thing happen then its most likely to be included in the Apple One bundle which I already subscribe to. That's not to say the bundle price won't go up but if its a separate selectable service then it should be included in the one bundle as that's supposed to be 'everything'.

I remember a time when you could say that while Apple hardware was expensive, you get the OS en some great apps included in the package, which then justified the price a bit better. Now it seems pricing remains high as ever while the software is extra... with monthly payments...

Wonder where this will end seeing as subcriptions are now such an increasingly large part of Apple's profits.

AI resource usage (notably electricity) is going to become an issue. It already is in WA where via custom setups the new large datacenters get access to our hydro power forcing WA residents to rely on other (e.g. NG/coal) out-of-state plants. We simply do not have the infrastructure to support vast use of AI unless the models get vastly more efficient. (Zuck in last earnings call said Lama4 will be 10x more resource intensive -- YIKES). I hope Apple charges a fair amount, and I hope our utility commissions realize that tax breaks and special access to the grid and low-cost kwh rates is really not a great idea as the billionaires socializing these costs have no intent to pay fairly for the tax they are ultimately forcing onto all of us. If it’s part of the Apple one plan then maybe but separate no thanks
They'll definitely bundle it with the Apple One and Apple One will go up about another 15 bucks a month.
But....hey....it's better than paying 20... that's how they play the game.
