The S4 battery cover is the only noticeable piece made of plastic; the 5C back is completely plastic. Therefore, if my S4 cover scratches, I can easily replace it--is that possible with the 5C? I don't believe so unless you have Apple repair the device.

That makes me believe that the 5C is not high quality.

Let's clarify a few things:

First, IIRC, the entire S4, save the display, is made of plastic--no different from the 5C. Second, easily replaced/repaired does not necessarily mean 'high quality'.

Regardless, you're both really just comparing personal preferences since it's fairly well documented that both use high quality plastic in their devices. Plenty of people like/dislike the feel of both the S4 and 5C--arguing which is higher quality based on their look and feel is a bit nonsensical.

No argument.

Just to clarify, I never said the S4 was higher quality; I'm just defending the device. It isn't cheap and certainly doesn't feel it.

I admit it's no M8 but, its still a quality device.

Agreed. For the most part, none of these flagship level devices are made with poor materials or have shoddy build quality--it all really comes down to preferences. For instance, I prefer unibody designs, like glass and metal over most plastics, and gladly sacrifice removable rear panels/batteries to have a rock solid build. I can also see the value in having removable rear panels and predominantly plastic build materials--just not my cup of tea.

Trade. Not a chance.

I did get an S5 though, and it's one impressive machine.

My iPhone 5S is not being used currently. It stays in the house as iPod touch basically.

Who cares about what other phone do you have ?
I spoke about note 3 and you posted a photo of a s3 ....

Read your post quoting me, if you can't understand my point, try going back and reading it again. Your bias is too transparent, you are on my ignore list I will not be responding to you again.

I didn't exactly trade but Yes, got a M8 sold the 5S for $800 cash 6 hours later. My wife and son have a iPhone 5 but i couldn't go back to that size. But then my 16 year old doesn't like my big phone won't fit in his skinny jeans:p

Well, not trading but adding another Android device back to my collection, thanks to soulreaver99.

You guys are a terrible influence. :p. (I'm looking at you two, MRU and Jamezr ;))

Oo which one? :p

One m8 or maybe a sony?

Ding ding ding...:D

Just stumbled upon his thread in the Marketplace for a Z1 Compact at a very fair price--just couldn't resist (probably doesn't help that my tax refund was deposited today ;)).

I'm partial to smaller phones and this is the only 'mini' flagship with full size specs--very good display, high end CPU, expandable storage, great camera and waterproof to boot. Only downside is no LTE (or to a lesser extent, no stock Android) but I generally see 6-12 Mbps down on AT&T on HSPA+ and can always connect to LTE via my wireless hotspot if needed.

Very cool, a z1 compact in the states. Be sure to post about it. Sony needs to bring more of their phones to the USA . And we need some smaller phones in general. It's really the z1 compact or the moto x. I love the moto x , but if I got my hands on the sony, I can't help but think id pick it. Has many pluses

It's not me the one biased .... Today I returned an opportunity to buy an S5 at a very good deal (I chose a Lumia 1520 instead) due to the low build quality and huge presence of bloatware on the Samsung 's device.
Samsung will have my money when they will learn how to make a device that at least seems to worth 700€....

Plus, look at all the complaints about the Nexus 5. The low volume issues and the battery life are just two of them.

Oh you mean the ones that got fixed in a bloody software update?

----------

Yeah you would nee to hold it there for the rest of my life.

You are so blind I'm speechless. Maybe try and use an Android device instead of repeating this **** again and again

I actually sold it to him lol. Mainly because there was no point having a Z2 and a Z1 compact. Z1 Compact is the only (micro, mini, compact, whatever) phone that has ZERO compromise for an android phone in it's size and weight class.

It was released in January 2014 so it had the best hardware specs for at the time and the camera, after a couple of firmware updates is very good. It's fast, it's reliable and Sony's take on Android is very simple so there is very little bloat to deal with, unlike Samsung. ;)

Quite looking forward to it as well. I've had devices from Samsung, HTC, LG, but not yet from Sony so can't wait to put it through it's paces.

One thing that has been hard to give up is a well functioning group SMS solution. It has never been robust on any android phone I've tried.

Doesn't work robustly. Frequently I get group texts as MMS but I will instead be told to download it... And it never downloads. Very frustrating experience. Tons of threads out there about this.

hmm I have never had any issues with mms

I use hangouts as my sms app

I would think that issue has more to do with whatever app you are using for sms
