The iphone has always been a weak phone compared to other phones, Everyone I know with one drops calls more than any other phone.

Glad my order isn't coming till 7/15, free bumper and all.

When I looked at one in the AT&T store yesterday the metal band with 2 gaps in it, would look better with no gaps imo.

Okay just got the video off my TiVo.

Here's the link:

(trying out FileDropper, anywhere else you guys want me to upload the file? I'm sure NBC will have it online soon)

PS. Haven't had any problems with my iPhone 4, yet.

EDIT: Mine is the actual video... not filming the TV screen!!

Awesome!!! Thank you so much.

Good story. Hope this all gets cleared up for those having trouble.

Lmao that's how I felt too. I'm 7 posts away from 1,000 posts on MacRumors so I feel like a part of me was just mentioned on the news. Corny? Whateva.

My nail varnish trick (friend's) was mentioned quite a bit too for a fix.

This makes no sense.

It's true that lightning strikes what stands tallest.

But this makes not sense at all. No one's making anyone do anything. There's isn't a monopoly. There's not just a single phone and Apple controls all telecommunications.

For **** sake they aren't bread lines!

But i'm not surprised. The media is in competition with lawyers for least of necessary evils. (Lawyers win this spot BTW)

Wow, you are truly in denial. The iPhone was just launched yesterday and it hasn't been apparent that the iPhone has this problem until enough people started using one.

No one is making me return my iPhone either, but I will if the genius can't get it to work at my appointment on Wednesday.

ALSO THE IPHONE MADE MY GIRLFRIEND DUMP ME AND I GOT MY PAY CUT AT WORK AND I ATE RAWSHRIMPBECAUSEOHNOLOOKITALSOBROKEMYSPACEBARANDITSABADPHONEGEEIWISHWEGOTINVITEDTOWWDCBUTINSTEADLETSMAKESH*TUP?

Maybe you should have held her in the right way..

If you think it's a "weak phone," then why did you order one?

Even though I do not have this problem personally, I do find it ****** of Apple to respond as such. We all dish out $600/700 in contracts and hardware for their product that they tout to be "sleek, beautiful, perfect," .. but then when a good majority of its customers are suffering from a very serious flaw to the main aspect of the device...they have no formal response to it?

I understand that they are probably formalizing a response and a solution to try and make everyone happy, but it should probably occur on Day 1 when the world will be scrutinizing it most.

Free bumpers would obviously be nice but that will still disappoint many who do not want to have a cheap rubber band around there phone, no back protection, etcetera.

I know you elitists will just chime in saying "they owe you nothing" .. I am not saying they owe us anything material for a working product. But when you sell a majority of people a defunct device at such a high price point... it is probably best to provide SOMETHING.

Mine works fine. I just have my doubts about all these reports.

Like you said it's only been a few hours of ownership.

That's why I think all this talk is premature.

At least I hope there's not a huge problem. I really doubt it though.

To those thinking they'll get a free bumper... Good luck. Apple can't even keep them stocked for the people who want to BUY them.

Did you have Glen Beck on split screen??

No I listened to him on my way home from work in the Benz. Then finished watching him on the tube while I ate my caviar. Just decided to watch NBC for laughs before we go catch a broadway show.

Sorry if you don't like facts.:D:D:D:D

I'm due for an upgrade and have 30 days to run it through its paces:D

An iphone is the only apple product I don't have, imac, macbook, 2 apple tvs, 3 ipod classics 120gb in the cars.

Also hoping b now the 'phone part of it' would be improved.

This is good news. No company is perfect. Apple has gone too long without being held accountable. They have massive profits & tons of cash. It's time they started putting their money where their mouth is and deliver the premium product they brag about creating. I know what they're capable of, it's time to get with the program and actually deliver a great product. I have no problem overlooking the marketing hype as long as they deliver results, not excuses. If Apple would have _tested_ the iPhone 4, _they would have discovered this problem. It's too obvious to miss.

I love Apple but I'm embarrased to own the iPhone 4 right now. Their arrogance is too much because there is a major problem with this phone. I'm sure their PR department is going to be working OT on this.

HaHa!!! Now that's funny!:D

Not to minimize this issue, because it's a big issue but, I can't believe people are shocked that MSNBC would slam Apple?? MS (Microsoft), it's in their best interest to make a huge deal about this.
