Did You find the Hospital then? I think You forgot to tell us.

I think I was quite clear in my assessment actually...Apple Maps actually has a hard time finding it since it isn't a real hospital anymore and actually defaults to the other hospitals in the area.

The fact that it shows up on the map and looks like a hospital is a combination of the area name being tagged incorrectly via the POI graphic because the word "hospital" is in the name.

I have never claimed that this wasn't or isn't still an issue on maps.

No one seems to give me credit though when only a few response back, someone claimed an address was a mile off and a simple check of the address shows that it isn't.

I'm not here to claim that maps is perfect or even good in some areas, just trying to keep people honest.

someone needs to keep people honest.

This is whinning is getting out of control.

Apple Maps says my apartment is 1/4 mile down the street from where it really is. Please try to defend that one

Address? Certainly don't need your apartment number...

Not saying you are not correct, but trying to understand why something like an actual address may not show up in the proper location on a map that was not created by Apple. Some errors I have found were based on address info put on the Yelp review, or a POI listed by the closest possible street address and the pin dropping there and not on the actual POI...all "fixable" items, but even I'm confused by some of them. Or maybe, some are just incorrect from TomTom or whomever else is providing the mapping info?

Not the Hospital I was asking You about.

Let's have a look back shall we:
"And as you can see, another complainer was once again proven to be exaggerating the situation completely."

So what are You here for? Are You the Apple Maps Support Team or are You just trolling the thread? What is the general point of trying to discredit people having a problems with maps?

No one seems to give me credit though when only a few response back, someone claimed an address was a mile off and a simple check of the address shows that it isn't.

Yeah, I really don't care - It might have been fixed, it might not have been correct - You are in Michigan and don't know jack about the areas where most of these errors occur...

I'm not here to claim that maps is perfect or even good in some areas, just trying to keep people honest.

Skejby Sygehus, Aarhus, Denmark... have You found it?

You're welcome!

And as you can see, another complainer was once again proven to be exaggerating the situation completely.

Your 2 previous maps about 9707 old Georgetown Rd, Bethesda are a bit different--are they both from Google? Or is one from Apple?

Google Maps, iOS 5.1.1 and on the web, shows it as right at Maplewoods Dr. which is the first Map you show.

The second map you show (presumably Apple?) shows it to the south at Ryland Dr.

Given how wooded the area is, a 50 or 100 yard miss is as good as a mile. That's an old American folk saying, you know, "A miss is as good as a mile?"

here you go

Doesn't look like much of a Hospital now does it? If fact what You found is a parking space for a local business. But wow, it's only around 1 mile off in this case.

But since You are being such a nice Apple Apologist, I'll help You - in case You need to go there in the future (future being after 1988 by Apple Maps standards):

This is where Apple Maps takes you - as can be seen on the satellite shot, it seems to be somebody's private garden

This is the actual Hospital - it's on the satellite photo, at least

This is how far off Apple Maps puts you (Red pin where Apple Maps takes you, Purple where it should have taken you) - around 20 miles off

I'm sorry i'm confused. What I posted (Skejby, Denmark) bought up exactly the same image as Google and Bing.

I have no idea what the hell you're talking about.

Why did You reply then? I said the local Hospital (Skejby Sygehus). I even named it for another user and You jumped in with a defense without knowing what we were discussing?

And no - Google brings up the correct result, even without me having to name the city:
http://maps.google.dk/maps?q=skejby...&cid=0,0,5112614076716233391&t=m&z=16&iwloc=A

Even the ********** ad for their Android maps app (on the left) have the right result...

skejby sygehus is a hospital is it? FFS

My local hospital (Kent & Sussex Hospital in Tunbridge Wells) closed just over a year ago but is still shown on Apple’s maps. I reported it in the first week and the again today, but it’s still wrong. Satellite imagery is still appalling as well.

I know I'm chiming in late...

Yes, the pin for that exact name came up wrong, but that is due to user supplied information (which is why it says approximate location). Not trying to defend it, but, Apple's fault for using info from Yelp or some other source. This is definitely where Google has a short term edge. Google Maps was no different and user input is what fixed their same exact problems. No...it will not take seven years. Google was at a disadvantage because they were introducing a mapping program with user input as well as MANY poi's when the alternatives out there (Yahoo, MapQuest, etc.) were just focused on routing to addresses.

The listing Apple has there is partially correct as the hospital is part of the university...again, user input or source data is missing the key words; "hospital" or "Skejby Sygehus."

Once again for those who are too lazy to read my posts....I'm not saying these issues don't exist. My problem is with people whining about problems without giving specifics so others can verify or see if those same types of issues exist elsewhere.

And 50 yards is not even close to being a mile...even in mapping, that one falls into the "close enough" category....should be fixed, but a mile is a mile and is a perfect example of the over exaggeration present in many of these posts.

what's bugging me the most in my area is that some POIs appear for a split second then they disappear. some only show up if you search for them, but how come they aren't available as a POI?
