Wow, the S5 is crap!

It's too bad the M8 isn't marketed like the S5. Samsung has done an excellent job of advertising their brand as the go to Android handset company and deludes people into thinking this is what the Android experience is about.

They are everywhere with S5 advertising and sponsorship, people are easily sucked in.

Who is to say what the 'Android experience' is about. For me HTC is just as much android as Samsung, or LG, or Nexus.

That's the beauty of Android, there is no 'standard' experience.

Its a bit like Marmite, but changes year on year. Who knows, I might even try it again in a few years. :)

Brown, sticky, comes in jars, and everyone's got a tub that's about 2 years out of date lurking in their fridge ?.... Strange analogy :p

I love it, and if you store it in a fridge you'll never use it! Have you ever tried spreading cold Marmite?! lol No Marmite's slogan is 'you either love it or you hate it'.. Android and iOS seem to have that kind of appeal. :)

When the Nexus 5 first came out, I had read that it suffered from several manufacturing defects, e.g., bad radio, loose buttons, screen issues. Don't know if that's still the case. Those are the reasons why I passed on the Nexus.

Guess I'll just stick with my iPhone 5S until the 6 comes out.

The LG G2 is a great phone. The G3 should be out May 27th. Give it a look. You might be very happily surprised.

I actually prefer Vegemite over marmite :) you can buy Vegemite in the health food stores here. I know essentially they are the same, but it just prefer Vegemite :)

Yeah I knew you were referring to love it, hate it, but it was just messing with the analogy :)


My best marmitey thing are Twiglets !!!! God I love them. But they don't sell them in Ireland so I buy them on eBay and get them shipped over here.

Exactly, different strokes for different folks.

I have no problem with touchwiz and prefer it to Sense UI or Android's base offering.

This is a very hyperbolic thread.

I feel like this was more to knock Samsung than to have actual criticisms with the device.

If you were having issues and even suspected it was defective, why didn't you contact Samsung or AT&T for a replacement? I've had defective devices before (surprisingly, all Apple) and when they had issues I didn't instantly deem them crap. When I got my replacements all my issues were fixed.

Marmite and Vegemite are a yeast extract that actually came about as a bi-product from the brewing industries.

They are a very salty & savoury flavour. It would be classed as Umami in taste, whereas Nutella would certainly be a sweet.

I suspect American Nutella is nothing like the European one though.

Same goes for all chocolate brands in general. American Cadbury's chocolate bars for example taste nothing like the European version.

That's why the tag line marketing for Marmite in UK is 'love it, hate it' because it divides people into polar opposites.
