Updated iphone
I updated my 3GS to iOS 5 and now most of my apps have been deleted. It is restoring but has removed all of them from their folders.
This is not a good update. I didn't mind the slow downloads, but after 3 attempts with errors it was very frustrating. I'm not sure going back to a previous backup will help because I don't want to go through this again.
I think it will be easier to reorganize my folders like I did the last time apple had a major upgrade. Am I doing something wrong?

Downloading updates was fine, but updating failed on both the iPad 2 and AppleTV; even after several attempts. 
As far as I know, the iPad has never had Apple-made Weather or Stock apps.. So, there's no apps for the Notification center to get that data from..
Sucks..
Really hope there will be ways for 3rd parties that make Weather and Stock apps for the iPad to make this type of data available to the Notification Center....
Yikes! I hope you're able to resolve that sometime SOON.
After reading some of these horror stories, I'm kinda happy that I've decided to wait till I get my new iP4S this weekend.

my ipad2 has no stockmarket app or weather app built in, perhaps thats the limitation.
I did this and the iPhone just says "Looking for ____'s MacBook", yet never connects
EDIT: nevermind. I had to quit iTunes and reload.
It happend the same here with me (Brazil). DFU it:

That got iTunes to recognize the iPhone again, but now iTunes is stuck on: "verifying restore with Apple (literal translation from portuguese).

Cant even switch the phone on. Just get the connect to itunes screen. So much for their fancy data centre. So i cant use my phone just because the server cant cope and there was me laughing at all the Blackberry owners with having their issues over the past few days. Seems they have the last laugh! Ill try again in the morning. Bed time. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Looks like my ipad2 is bricked as the update failed. The mini did update after a 1 hour download.

This is the same message I got, and eventually it worked out. It is restoring from backup now and s l o w l y putting back my songs and apps. I still don't know for sure, but it looks like it is going to be ok.

Yeah...you are probably right and that is why there are no notification widgets ! Thanks. Still trying to figure out this wifi/cloud synching stuff. My iTunes keeps opening up after I close it on desktop and laptop.
Oh and another thing Apple. Its a crock of **** that i cant use iCloud because Im a Snow Leopard user yet the PC brigade can use iCloud on Vista and Windows 7. WTF. Forced into buying Lion now. Seems IOS5 isnt free after all eh?? Us SL users are subsidising it. Very poor.
wow, I'm feeling lucky after reading this. I updated my 2010 MacPro (Running Lion) and iPad2 in less than an hour, total (including the download time), and it went as smoothly as could be.
3+ hours to download and update my iPad.

One question, if anybody knows the answer. I had an old MobileMe account that I let expire some time ago. I want to get the same email I had with my .me account, but of course I can't log in and migrate my .me account to iCloud because my .me account is expired. When I try to use my old .me email address to create an iCloud email, I get a message that the address is taken (by my old account, I assume).
Anybody know how to get hold of my old .me email address?
I use a different email address as my Apple ID.
