NP. but if Meister is all hairy under those big glasses, it is all on you!
... says the wolf

The fact that you voted for me made me suspicious.

My guess is that QoS, Rik, Sceptical, Myself and Sythas are not wolves.
That leaves us with anj, dp, tweetie, moyank and melrose. Of those only tweetie didn't help to vote Tomorrow out.

Did you die in the middle of that sentence?
Sorry. Passed out there for a moment :D

----------

you seem to be suspicious of anyone who votes for you.
if anjinha turns out to be a villager, are you going to be equally suspicious of all the people who voted for her?

To continue my reasoning above, that only leaves me with anj, melrose, moyank and dp as possible wolves.
Now if Anj turns out not to be a ww, I'll have to be suspicious of myself

So I've just invented this AWESOME new tool for our little games here on MR. It's called the Voight-Kampff-Meister-Meter. Basically, we ask a series of seemingly pointless questions and the answers, cross-referenced, will reveal the culprit!

(a) You're in the desert and there's a tortoise on it's back. You don't help him. Why don't you help him?

(b) Did you vote for Meister?

If the answer to the latter question is positive, then we have a bad guy. What's the point of the first question? I have no clue, but apparently, that's how the Voight-Kampff-Meister-Meter machine works.... curious...

welcome to the games :D

To this game.

There is an interesting difference to the dynamic, this time, and it is the existence of the twinned partnerships.

This means that there is an extra level, or layer, or subterfuge required from those of a lupine persuasion; normally wolves are allowed (encouraged, obliged) to communicate with their furry brethren, and those whom they manage to infect (a situation which will not arise here).

When communicating to the community at large, a degree of duplicity is called for, which is why most of the relatively successful wolves tend to try to have a relatively low profile; it takes greta confidence, guts, and a superb capacity of finely calibrated mental compartmentalisation to be able to be a wolf while hiding in plain sight, posting prolifically and offering objective thoughts.

Now, unless our wolves are paired with each other, they will each be communicating with one another, and also, with a paired intimate, (unless such a pairing has already been unfairly, and untimely terminated, presumably by choice….) attempting to sustain a fiction…..and mask their true nature from their partner which must prove something of a dilemma, and strain.

And this, too, might prove something of a strain for the aforementioned partner, too, if they find themselves obliged to choose between vague suspicions of a partner, and loyalty to the collective, the village, the society.

Fascinating……..

i think in general, adhering too much to one's interpretation of limited amount of data can lead to apparent self-contradiction. you have to allow for complex scenarios. But as we allow more and more layers of deception to be introduced by the ww, we reduce contradictions but also dilute the information content to the point where it is irrelevant. a balance must be striken.
i agree that in this specific game, the fact that teammates can communicate introduces another level of complexity, it could be extremely helpful but also quite risky to confide, and the various clues -one way or another- must be careful weighed.

All I can say is, my partner is like super lame. He won't tell me if he's a Wolfgang no matter how many times I ask him. :D

The thing that would make it cool is this: Some players would know they're replicants, others would be working for the "villagers" as it were, and have special powers but be Replicants and not even know it. I have no clue how that would work out in actual gameplay... I love the atmosphere of the movie. The Tanhauser Gate speech is one of my favorites in all of cinema; seriously, it should be ranked up there with the Usual Suspects scene in Casablanca.

interesting concept. need to be worked on in terms of balancing of strengths, and how and when the 'dormants' would be activated and 'turned'.
it could after a certain number of days, or following some pre-determined set of events

It would all hinge on whether the "Deckard" player(s) are actually replicants.

Of course, they would be, but would they know that?

You won't regret this! :D

Yes, you'll eat me last. :p

It could work as a kind of sequel/follow-up on the event. Deckard and Rachael would be the hunted. I always wanted to do it that way myself, turning it upside down making the ww actually the good guys who have to fight off the majority. The infectee (or ghoul I think it was in the vamp-games) could be the Replicant who'd to be activated. Would be awesome.

Actually, that sounds as though it would be a terrific idea, one which could lend itself superbly well to this format.

And I like the idea of the replicants/wolves as the hunted (which is what they were in the movie); certainly, a concept well worth exploring further.

Back to the here and now: While time is elastic - and subjective as the late, great, Mr Einstein was at pains to point out, it would be nice if our GG gave some idea of when a deadline - if any - is supposed to occur…..

yeah, i doubt anyone is changing their vote barring a really convincing last minute post by anjinha.
it would be good to know if we got ourselves a wolfie.

:D
i'd venture not, sorry

and just for the record, the votes are:

anjinha: 4 (sythas, rick, sceptical, queenofspades)
meister: 4 (moyank, twietee, melrose, dontpanic)

with anjinha having the 'old-style' tie-breaker

Except, the people involved in the tie can't vote. Or did I misread the instructions?

Ok, here is my argument:

The only reason Meister voted for me was because I voted for him, he admitted he doesn't have any specific to vote for me. And rick voted for me because he says he has good reason but he won't share it with the group. He can't be the Seer because if he was he would know that I'm not it so my guess is that they're both werewolves and rick is trying to protect Meister.

Rick has already said that he and Meister are partners, which might explain the understanding that they seem to have.

That does not necessarily mean that they are wolves. Besides, they have both been active and vocally participating,

Indeed, while it is relatively rare (not impossible, I grant) for an exceptionally vocal individual to be a wolf, it is not usual.

The reason I voted for you was to entice you out, into active participation.

Too many individuals plead to participate in this world, and then proceed to glide under the radar, quietly killing and taking opportunistic (and entirely understandable) advantage of the fact that most individuals respond to the individuals who post most, and are thus very visible, rather than asking questions of those who fly under the radar, cunningly camouflaged.

Rick has already said that he and Meister are partners, which might explain the understanding that they seem to have.

But even if they are partners they can't know for sure if the other one is a wolf or not, they are only guessing. UNLESS they are both wolves.

Understandable. :)

correct, anjinha and meister cannot vote.
it's 4-4 without their votes.

rick's comment is simply explained by the fact that they are a team and he trusts meister based on their PMs.
he cannot be 100% sure unless he was the seer and had scanned him, but between two relative unknowns, he picked the one he was more confident in.
a reasonable approach.

That is true.

However, they have both participated, and spoken up, whereas others have remained next to silent. Moreover, the change in everyone's routine that is usually engendered by week ends is well and truly over. This is Monday evening.

I have seen too many outings in this world where the vocal were punished, and targeted, (and killed) while the guilty were taciturn, and almost invariably virtually silent.

So, for now, I'll not change my vote, and I apologise in advance if I am shown to be wrong.
