Ironically there was quite a bit of preview time before it went live... ;)

One of the nice things is that private messages (Conversations in this software) show up as something similar to normal threads, but you can add multiple participants. So it should make conversations among different groups much easier to follow.

didn't see the preview.
i would have complained there too. :D
obviously this is the way it is now, so complaining is likely futile, but the gigantic spacing (gigantic everything, really) is really aggravating.
in anycase, i don't want to derail the game-thread with my whining about the new look, sonce i am already doing that in a few other threads

Ugh, that was a pleasant surprise!
...hope everybody stays on board..

-

Forum was read-only yesterday, so couldn't send a single PM, test stuff etc. Good timing! Didn't know about that stuff.

Did send out roles for about half the cast already in order of sign-in, the rest follows when I have a little more time at hand since that has to be done in a relaxed way; so please no hard feelings when the game starts 2h later today - as I see already quite some votes incoming for me. :(

So please no bragging about who got WW and whatnot.

The old forum software is no longer supported so they switched to a supported application.

Hmmm. Doesn't look like it appends multiple post.
So long as it doesn't thread topics I'm good. I hate threaded forums.

Actually, it does - it just takes longer and several more - I think about three - steps in order to do it.

yes, it's hideous.
disorganized, superbusy, crap allover the places, intrusive ads, takes 10x the space it did before.

can you tell i don't like this seizure-inducing novelty? :D:D:D

I think a number of us will find the changes challenging enough to adjust to.

……..

There was, as it happens - in the 'Forum Feedback Section'; however, as is often the case, stuff that you wish to say strikes you later rather than at the time.

I'll read what you have to say on the matter with great interest.

The whole spacial thing is the one item I don't like about it, actually. I have to scroll to get to things I could just click on before. But I can't complain too much since it's a first-world problem and MR isn't as important as it used to be. :p

the 'edit/report buttons' at the bottom is going to be really annoying for the games.
i usually visually scan quickly for bolded votes, but those come up as 'false negatives'.
wish they moved them away or from there or at least put them in a less intrusive color.
put them in white on green like the post number

Did they got rid of the 'scroll to top of page' button? that one was useful..

Anyway, roles are sent out. Anybody got nothing or wants to complain (or thank me for that awesome empowerment)...let's parley privately.

Preface comin' in..

NIGHT ONE - LYNCHING TIME!!

DEADLINE IS TUESDAY [10:00 PM CET] [15:00 PM BST] [16:00 PM CEST]

What a fantastic opening, and what a beautifully put together introduction -and indeed, production; love the font and the background you have used. Very well done, it is most attractively constructed.

Well, tweetie was gonna be my go-to guy but he's the GG this time round soooo:(

Come on.

Surely we can do a bit better than revert to our internal personal and private list of 'The Usual Suspects'? Mind you, there are a few names on my own personal and private list, which I shall forebear from calling upon for now, as empirical evidence is supposed to trump private suspicions, especially in the absence of anything else….such as proof
...

I hate first-day/night votes. :(

But why break precedent! Don't panic Noah Fence, obviously. First day things are rough.

Or is my vote wasted? I mean, if you live past day two we all know you're a bad guy anyway. :p

...that sounds suspicious. If Don't Panic doesn't pan out or doesn't offer a solid rebuttal I'm aiming my 20g buckshot double barrel WolfBrains-O-Matic right at you.

....I jest. I would've voted for him as well.

Thanks.

And, starting with a Night Time lynching?

Hm. Interesting.
I wondered about that too... do the wolves eat people during the day? Man oh man they're getting more brazen with each game and now we're left cowering in the dark deciding who to lynch.

EDIT: I think the new forum formatting is going to mess up my ability to 'read' players' posts. The double-leading whitespace resulting in poor type formatting and diminished legibility is going to take some getting used to...

Well, I am pretty nocturnal myself by temperament and preference………

And, also, after the last outing, Don't Panic (and no, I am not bolding him for now, that is too easy and obvious) will be in everyone's sights.

For now, I will say that DP - who has attracted two votes (to my one - I am the very first person to attract a vote, how absolutely extraordinary) - is an exceptionally valuable person to have on either side.

If a WW, he is - clearly - highly dangerous. If a villager, he is - I have to say - well nigh invaluable for his analytical skills.

Given that we have absolutely nothing to go on - and despite the fact that mine is the only other name to have attracted so much as one vote - I implore the village collective not to vote off DP until at least the second day, when things may have become a bit clearer.

I'm not sure how to take that in the context of our little game...

I may change my vote based on his response. I agree he's a tremendous asset... And, there's time to change. I'd like to see some pressure on him so he comes back with a logical response.

I don't get it when you [collective "you" not you personally] vote for someone to try and get a defense out of them and they just go "oh, well, vote how you want." That doesn't help the village at all. :/

I agree. I'm not going to waste my vote and jump on the starts of a bandwagon. I'll use it to try force a tie if the opportunity presents itself.

I'm sorry tweetie, I didn't expect people to agree with me to vote for you day one had you been playing:D

Beautiful start, Twietee.

so a night lynching is a novelty, are day/night just reverted? is it going to be like this the entire game?
does this affect the day/night abilities/powers?
i assume that as far as rules are concerned 'day'=lynching period and 'night'=WW killings, scans etc.?

in any case, i already see some bottom-hurt boys scurrying around, looking for revenge in unlikely places ;).
well, well, well, it is all precious informations for the village... :D

Meanwhile, i shall heed my own previous advice, KEEP CALM, AND VOTE Tomorrow

just want to add that the spreadsheet is up and running. linked in my sig on the bottom right

click on the "knee-deep" tab at the bottom LEFT of the Google-doc

EDIT: as I feared, the new look makes it a pay to quickly scan for bolded votes, as there is a lot of visual clutter in the way

In the waning light of a great any posts I have made over the years where I have muttered darkly about mornings and written about the joys of nocturnal writing, thinking and researching, I think that if I said that I cheerfully leap out of bed chirruping lark-like, anyone who knows me would immediately seek to take my temperature placing a careful hand on what they suppose can only be a fevered brow…….

However, my argument about DP stands. It is far too soon to consider lynching or otherwise offing the person who may well be the village's best strategist and analyst. Let us stay our hand on that for now.
