Two of the posters voting for me are vampires. Remember that for the next day.

And in other breaking news: the pope is catholic and bears still crap in the woods.

Yes!

Told you, iBlue. I ain't a wolf!

Time to go vamp huntin'.

I don't think I've ever been so pleased to be wrong. I'm sorry, ravenvii.

Cookie?

Have had to go back and check the OP after getting my numbers wrong in the simple game and getting mauled by wolves as a result, but it's definitely just the 2 vamps left (isn't it?).

Shall see how the night turns out but hopefully that will confirm my suspicions and we can wrap this all up by christmas (or we might all fall foul of the inactivity rule!)

Think so. I'd really hate to think there is something ELSE in this village.

The night started quietly. Only the sound of the wind could be heard. Outside the remaining poles of wood from the gallows still burned, albeit more like a charcoal rather than a blaze at this point. Some of the now empty houses had wide open doors. The wind opened and shut thus creating an atmosphere of suspense.

stonyc was sitting inside the Lord of the Bunnies' house as he always coveted it. He was sitting infront of the fireplace when a loud "thud!" was heard in the roof top. stonyc stood up. "The vampire?" he questioned himself. Then another thud, and outside one of the windows a tree branch could be seen falling.

Some relief, it was all a tree branch. The night carried on and stonyc fell asleep.

Morning started to awake. The rooster, from inside its barnyard, could be heard. However, something was different. The smell of baked goods did not flood the air. Not even the sound of bakery equipment on the job was heard. No, instead an eerie silence endured.

Out from his house came ravenvii hungry as a bear. "Man some nice little phallic and vampiric cookies along with a nice mug of hot cocoa will be a nice start..." he went on saying out loud as he walked towards iBlue's bakery. Suddenly he noticed something out of order. -aggie-'s fireplace chimney still smoked. "What in the world? That lazy arse stonyc still sleeps?" he murmmured.

On the way towards the house Melrose encountered ravenvii Nd both resolved to go wake stonyc up. They knocked, no answer. Knock. Nothing. Knock, knock. Nothing. They opened the door.

Inside it was warm and cozy. There in the same chair he slept was stonyc still asleep. "Rise and shine you lazy bard", said Melrose as he walked towards stonyc. However something was not right. stonyc didn't breathe. He didn't have his distance pinkish color. He was white and had to bite marks on his neck.

stonyc was dead. His blood sucked clean dry. Both ravenvii and Melrose cursed in unison and declared this is it for the vampires. They both started running towards the gallows to at least try and rebuild them. However, someone was there in the center, waiting for them.....

stonyc was drained of his life-force and blood by vampires. 5 villagers remain and majority is 3. Deadline in 36 hours from now.

Oh crap! What the heck happened?

.... Right there infront of the gallows was jimN. He had a crossbow out; clearly he was one of the hunters "Beware!", he called out. "A vampire is on the loose. I just saw him not a mere seconds ago." Melrose and ravenvii looked at each other.

Then they saw someone running down the road. "There it is!" cried out jimN. A horrible screech was heard and a small sonic boom as well. "Get down!" Melrose and ravenvii ducked. jimN grunted and took the shot.

The silver bolt left the crossbow at an increible speed and precision. The bolt hit Moyank24 straight into her heart. She fell down and did not turn. The hunter had made a terrible mistake! Melrose and ravenvii asked "WTF?! On which are you on jimN?!" However before their eyes jimN grew fangs abs his skin turned white as the snow on the ground. He let a screech. "Craaaaaap!!" shouted ravenvii. In one swop using his vampire and hunter abilities jimN tore Melrose's head clean off. In a jump he landed on ravenvii and took a clean bite on his neck. He sucked he life out of him. He let out a even more deafening screech after done sucking ravenvii's blood.

Another screech. Perched on top of the bakery was iBlue. The original screech and sonic boom was from the fast and nimble iBlue who know questioned her minion. "You done down there? I'm hungry for more human blood and this village is dry as a bone now", she remarked. "Yes master! We can move to a higher plane and continue our evolution elsewhere.", replied jimN. "Very well, come my children! Discard this village and follow me to a new village! We will continue our evolution elsewhere!" shouted and screeched iBlue. Suddenly, she turned into undeniably beautiful and fashionable yet ferocious mother vampire.

She took to the skies and after her followed a myriad of bats and vampire creatures. jimN grew his wings and followed his master. However before taking further flight he landed and left a note on the main Assembly Hall. It read:

Let this be a message to the hideous, hairy, snarling beasts that you don't play around in the Vampire's feeding pool. Merry Christmas!"

The village was deserted. House empty, no one alive. The gallows destroyed by lightning and the wolves' failed attempted at a take over. The bakery, empty, it's master having left flying as the Vampire Lord. Surely the cursed name of MRVille had lived up to expected. Yet although the village had died, something had survived. It was not the lone wolf that tried to make it up to his master. It was not the wolves that were born out of that one. It was the vampires. They had survived and conquered the village.

The winter winds picked up again. Cold and chilly. In the horizon iBlue's swarm of vampires, jimN and herself could be seen flying. Also another village was visible, they still did not know that Something Has Survived the massacre of MRVille.

**

kufford let out a scream. "You pathetic creatures will not win!" "We'll see about that!" snarled iBlue in one movement kufford fell to the ground dead, without blood.

Exeunt

Game Over! The vampires win! I have to say this has been one of the most interesting games ever. I am also proud that I noted the game that gave the vampires their first victory ever since their inception and inclusion in game.

A special "Behind the Scenes" post coming soon.

All narratives after December 10th were posted from an iDevice. Quite a pain, yet fun!:D

wait, how can the hunter be a vampire?
vampire can only infect regular villagers, not specials. or that was changed?

jimN was the Apprentice Hunter and this role's no immunity to anything was specifically made so that wolves and vampires could infect. Valid claim though.

This provided the theoretical Hunter against the village that was argued before the game started.

Oh jav, man, you had a really, really good opportunity to write that all-in-one and tell a mighty surprise story without the in-between spoilers, but that is still brilliant narration!
Thank you for hosting this. You're a sport for taking the time to write so many of these from an iDevice in Honduras!

Well, that was fun! The win was helped slightly by the lack of participation rule booting out some players, which dampens that excitement a little bit (I'd have drained you quiet bastids though :p) but nevertheless I'm pleased to have been a part of the first ever Vampire win!

Little insider stuff:
I tried to turn mscriv into a vampire first because he was taken out so early by a kamikaze wolf in the previous game and seemed keen to be a vampire based on a reply I recall him writing to chrmjenkins, who wanted to turn him. So his priesty quietness did do some good because obviously my first bite failed. Though I think the prolonged silence wasn't the best way to go about it to be honest. I think coming out on day 2 and get the prayer perfected by day 3 would have been perfect. Too many names just doesn't work out well.

I wanted to turn ravenvii as well because turning the original game starter would just be fun. I even sent a twitter DM to ask as a player if he liked good or bad roles. He said good (in quite an amusing way) and I decided not to try to take that away from him. That's why when I saw his behaviour change and him going quiet I suspected the wolves got to him. I really got a huge laugh out of that post "Why are you *still* voting for me?" though and that did help nail -aggie-.

I ended up choosing JimN because he hadn't been a vampire before and seemed like a good player. I couldn't have known what a good choice he was until I found out that he was the apprentice hunter. Better still, he was protecting me the same night I turned him. How classic storytelling is that? :D

I actually kept hoping the wolves would try to kill me because every other night I was being hunter protected and they would wonder "why won't she die?!" :p (it would have taken 3 nights consecutively to kill me if it had been timed right.)

Being a baddie is freakin' difficult though. Always second-guessing what you do and say, etc. I've played a lot of games and only been a baddie one other time (I was infected by an alpha wolf) and as someone who was much more often one of the goodies, I always played right out in the open so I don't even have the benefit of being one of the quiet players to hide in the shadows when I am bad. That's why the baked™ goods thing came to be. I was bored of being a simple villager and made a role for myself. Partly because I felt bad voting for people only to find out they were innocent. So I offered up baked goods and my zombie lair. (in case anyone wasn't sure what all the bakery and zombie stuff was about)

Thanks everyone for all the fun… and blood! I think this will be my final game, at least for a while. It's too time consuming in the evenings here, which thoroughly annoys my husband, and I've woke up a few times in the middle of the night wondering if I'm about to be lynched, etc. It's a strangely addicting game! Good note to end on for now though and thanks again to all the players who kept it interesting. :)

Bye, for now.

Actually, you interpreted the rules wrong in my opinion. Though you are the host, so your interpretation wins.

"Susceptible to infection" means infection by the werewolves. They *can* infect specials. The Hunter (or Master Hunter in this game) is distinguished by being immune to this.

Vampires can only infect NON-SPECIALS. This is a catch-all provision. This is the reason why the Secret Society (AKA Night Watch) was classified as NON-SPECIAL, to provide vulnerability against Vampire infection. This classification doesn't matter in regards to the werewolves.

But again, as I said, since you're the host, your interpretation wins. Just saying that's not the way I (as the original author of the rules) construed it.

Nonetheless, this has been fun. iBlue, you're the first to get my vote next time! :D

EDIT: And there better be a next time, iBlue! :D I won't be playing much in the immediate future either, I'm going to be very busy with a rather large exam coming up in February.

but he still is a Special. infection should only apply to wolves in this case.
i thought jimN was the infected werewolf-hunter. and aggie/iblue was the vampiric duo.
wolves got really shafted with the mistaken lynching of rodimus and aggie, but it's ok, it was time for a vamp win! :)

good job jav,
narration was terrific.

I understand that; however, I thought long before answering to iBlue that day. I ended up allowing it since the Apprentice hunter, even though special, had that provision that could be infected. Now the rules didn't say by whom, so that kinda caused a delay in my response since I really had to think about it. iBlue's subsequent PMs to me about if it was successful are a testament how close I was to saying no to that bite.

I even took Don't Panic's arguments of theoretically taking down the Hunters into consideration. I sensed that since the Apprentice hunter was vulnerable because he was, as his name said, an apprentice; hence, why I made him vulnerable to everything.

I do feel I failed to clarify that his apprentice rank made him more of a villager than special. However, it's a realization I saw the night iBlue infected jimN. Making that clarification mid game would have been a clear sign, the vampire was infecting a hunter and dot trust the hunters. That would have been a major game changer.

Now the Rodimus lynching. I wrote to him apologizing the screw up. He discussed a rollback and I even considered it. In the end I decided not to. Why? By the time the mistake was realized everyone knew what Rodimus was, rolling back the clock would have given Rodimus just one night. Nothing he would have done extra as -aggie- was alive hence a wolf kill was assured.

Any questions please post :)

Just some thoughts for future games:

I think for the sake of simplicity the vampires and the wolves should just be active and equal from the start with the ability to infect any player but the hunter or hunters. It's strange that vampires have limited people they can convert but wolves don't. Particularly because if there are just a wolf and a vampire left, the wolf wins. Vamps have always had a disadvantage to the big, mean hairy dogs. :p

Depending on player turn-out, I think just have the regular Alpha Wolf, Kamikaze and one attempt for the Alpha to infect someone.

Same with the Vampires. An Alpha, a Kamikaze and one chance to turn/infect someone.

If the player turn-out is low, maybe exclude the kamikazes so there are not too many baddies. Something along those lines.

Actually, I'm thinking about a completely different game break-down (a team-based approach). But I won't have the time to host a game until March, so you'll have to wait :D

If be happy to help out in that case. I AM sure a break from the games is in order.

So I'm interested in doing a comeback game around the end/mid of Febuary so people have one final crack at the old individualized game approach.

I can see why you'd interpret that way, and i think it's fine. even more balanced, actually.
i was just an observer anyways so it doesn't matter, and my guess from some point on was that both jimn and aggie were baddies, just had them reversed
:).

i think the game is actually fine as is. i like the vamps being the underwolves, it is more difficult that they win, but also the initial attention is on the wolves for that reasons, plus the failed infection of the special can yield useful infos.

i think the hunter being infectables adds a terrific possibilities of twists to the game. with maybe a better clarification of the apprentice rule o make it less ambiguous.

the one rule that needs tweaks is the inactivity rule. i think it should stay, but counting the hours is way too impracticable (for example stonyC was also inactive for a long time, but no one noticed).
i would just change to state that you need at least one post for game-day, simple and reasonable: to play, you post.
If you don't post between dawn and lynching you get lost in the woods, the role is lost and no info of any kind is passed to the villager. only way to find out is undertaker or sorcerer.

As far as a break, we should gauge interest after the holidays. i would play, but i think only one game at the time should be played.

congratulations to all and have a Merry Christmas

Agreed, Intell is next up, I think (gotta check the queue thread) for a simple game, it'll be a great way to tide us over until we get back into swing in January/February.

What an odd game with the holidays throwing off everyone's schedules.

As for the vamp, I agree with DP's interpretation of what a special is given the vamp is invisible to seer scans before activation.

I agree with you, this guaranteed we would never lynch JimN as he is a special but with no immunity to WW infection. JimN was a special so the vamps should never have been able to infect him IMO.

The inactivity rule should stay but instead of posting within a certain time period you need to post between start of a day to the end of night. Especially with extended voting periods like weekends or holidays it is easy to go inactive after x hours.

One thing it took out of this is never trust iBlue. :p

You're hotter than I remember. Come to my hut around 9:00 and we can *sccssccchhhk* like *ssssshhhhckkkssshhhk* expensive champagne *ssshhkkkshk* in my hot tub *kkkkssssshckkkshck* with jell•o!!!11!
