I'm 83% sure that I'm just making up numbers, but Moyank because her Pinstripe City football team is 8 places higher on the Fantasy Football table than my team.

WoodNUFC because he obviously doesn't appreciate awesome.

I do appreciate awesome. That's not the problem. I'm jealous of your awesomeness! I've had to make a hard decision in the hope of moving up the table. I've sold Gareth Bale to buy Eden Hazard. Hopefully he keeps producing.

moyank

because i hate the yankees.

:D

I wonder if your body would go into some sort of shock if you went one day without voting for me. ;)

I have no clue what I'm doing. I wanted to add that Van Persie fella, but my girlfriend, who is a City fan, absolutely won't let me.

I did add Hazard, though, and my boy Tevez has been a star for Pinstripe City. :D

As someone who has loads of City supporting friends, I can understand your gf's refusal to allow you to have Van Persie. :) I used to live about a mile from Eastlands back in 2009-2010. Since I was a student, I could get tickets from the University of Manchester for $15 (£10) each. They were less than 10 rows from the pitch. It was great!

I can only imagine. When she's home she tries to go to as many matches as possible. She was at the match in May when they clinched against QPR and she sent me video of it - complete craziness...It's something as a sports fan I would love to experience at least once.

i can't see the possibility of any strategy at all for day one voting so i'll just go ahead and vote tomorrow, because i am 60% sure he is one of the bad guys.

is there a deadline for voting or do we have to reach majority?

I'll get rid of my no-vote (seems you ppl prefer the hot-war style) and join you with Tomorrow. Not because I know he's a commie or neo-lib but I think we're actually doing him a favor.

We have to reach majority, DP.

And yes, Tevez is pretty awesome (and a lot cheaper than that Persie fella)!
I love my Yaya+Tevez tag-team so far.

so there is no deadline?
ravenvii, can you please introduce one? tonight, for example?

there is nothing to discuss about and there will be little in the future, so a no-deadline game makes no sense with this game (in my opinion).
i think it will just drag the game on forever and eventually will just promote random bandwagoning.

also i think the faction of who is voted out should not be revealed at death

tally:

tomorrow; 3 (koodauw, don'tpanic, twietee)

moyank; 2 (woodNUFC, ricksnagwell)
sythas: 2 (abijnk, queenofspades)

don't panic: 1 (chrmjenkins)
chrmjenkins: 1 (plutonius)
twietee: 1 (sythas)
woodNUFC:1 (moyank)

yet to vote; tomorrow
majority: 7

Here's my take - two teams of equal number of players on each. That's important. I'll get to that in a minute.

So on the first day, we vote to lynch one person (looking like me, for now). When that happens, my team affiliation will be revealed. That's also important.

Here's the fatal flaw - once I'm eliminated (or anybody, really), that person's team is identified as having one fewer members than the other team.

Anybody see the problem yet?

All the other team has to do is publicly announce their affiliation - each with a partner to vouch - and gang-vote for members of the other team to eliminate them. So tomorrow's vote could be a guaranteed 6-5, the following day's vote could be a guaranteed 6-4, and so on. That just reduces the game to "which team can out someone from the other team on the first day."

It's a bit like playing tic-tac-toe (or naughts and crosses) on a 2x2 board; whoever goes first is going to win, and there's no defense against it.

I've actively campaigned against suicide votes in the past, so I won't cast one here. No vote.

Good observation. I thought about it too, but believe there is a possible solution to your scenario which I won't tell right now, as I'm not sure if ravenvii will change the rule or not. That was the reason for my no-lynch vote before, because 60-40 odds is risky while changing the dynamics drastically. But some dynamics would be nice to have within this thread anyway..

But besides that I agree with DPs post above about deadline and faction-disclosure.

I understand exactly what you mean.

I guess the only glitch would be the introduction of lying. Basically, anyone could lie about their affilitation - especially once the faction is revealed. So we may have everyone saying they are KGB, for instance (if the lynched is CIA)....if that happens, then we're back to fingering each other. ;)

And since Appleguy and Melrose are sitting this one out, everyone here will lie. :D

Yes and No..if we need a back-up post by our partner one player doesn't have it, because Tomorrow will be dead (for example)...one can slow that process down , but fingering gets easier for the majoritarian faction while fingering plus lying becomes harder for the other, already being the minority. Doesn't mean they have to lose, but it seems likely..and all that with 60/40.

i agree with the above posts.
tomorrow's post is the reason i had suggested the faction should not disclosed upon lynching in post 112.

moyank is also right that it is not automatic, because clearly everyone would have an incentive to lie and claim belonging to the majority faction.
this would hold up a little bit, until fingering and other dynamics kick in, but it is still a pretty significant advantage for the team who is lucky enough to (randomly) register the first kill.

Tomorrow is 100% right.

Example: Tomorrow dies and is a MI8 agent. That night, someone fingers the right person. BAM, backup!

Game over.

So roles will NOT be revealed at the lynching.

I also agree that this has dragged long enough. Tomorrow at 2 PM EST is the deadline. Unless a majority is reached beforehand.

tomorrow's post 115 is the reason i had suggested the faction should not disclosed upon lynching in post 112.

Please gimme that crystal ball! :D

And I'm switching back to no-lynch for the moment 'cause Tomorrow doesn't deserve assassination for (possibly) saving my ass. Sorry Tomorrow.
