    GAME END

    Loyal

The Bought Man – Each night he must ask if a particular player is The Dirk (more below). On the first night, he will get 2 attempts. If he finds The Dirk, then he will defect to the Traitors' side and be able to PM with The Dirk only for the remainder of the game as long as The Dirk is still alive. The Bought Man CANNOT PM the other Traitors. If the handmaidens die and The Bought Man is still on the good side, he will take over the identification of Traitors.* The Bought Man is similar to the Goth.

*There will be one night of no autopsies between the death of the handmaidens and The Bought Man taking over.

Master of Whispers (good Traitor) – Each night he can scan players to find Traitors. The Master of Whispers will be given the nature of the scanned's role, but not the explicit role.* This is the Seer of the game. If the Master of Whispers is killed the autopsy will show Traitor.

*The Bought Man is a Loyal even if he has defected but she will sense that s/he is helping the Traitors.

Bravosi - He has a one time ability to kill during the day. If he kills The Red Man with his special one shot kill, The Red Man does not have time to reanimate a dead Traitor, should one exist, to take out a Loyal. In other words, Bravosi has the Hunter Insta-Kill ability in the game.

Silent Sister – She can ask the role of a dead player each night.* She is the Undertaker of the game.

    * She will be told the role of a Loyal player, and whether the lynched Traitor is the Master of Whispers, but he won't be told of the (bad) Traitor's role.

The "Vulture" – He can protect one person per night. He is the Hunter of the game. If he protects a bad Traitor (not the Master of Whispers) he will die, and this will override any kill order by the Traitors for the night.* He can protect the same player more than once but NOT on consecutive nights. He may choose to protect himself or no one. His protection extends into the following day against The Red Man reanimations.

    * If The Bought Man defects to the Traitor side, protecting him will do no harm since he is still a Loyal.

Faceless Man - The Faceless Man shadows the Loyals each night to see who they target with their scans/protects (passive ability).

Handmaidens - As long as one is alive you will be able to tell whether a player was a Loyal or Traitor when lynched or killed by the Bravosi. If all the handmaidens are killed and The Bought Man is dead or joined the Traitors then you will be lynching blind. The handmaidens may PM each other at any time, similar to the Neighborhood Watch.

Maester - One time ability to bring a murdered Loyal back from apparent death. If he attempts bring back The Bought Man (activated or not) or any Traitor, it will fail and he will be informed of failure via PM. This also results in loss of the ability. (The Maester could potentially unknowingly do so if both handmaidens and the Bought Man are dead at the time of the resurrection). This ability is day-time only.

8 Peasants – No powers other than voting.

Only the handmaidens may PM amongst themselves. No other Loyals may exchange PMs with anyone but the GG.

    Traitors

The Dirk – Each night he must ask if a particular player is The Bought Man. On the first night, he will get 2 attempts. If he finds The Bought Man, then The Bought Man defects to the Traitor side and they are able to PM each other only for the remainder of the game as long as they live. The Dirk is similar to the Vampire.

The Sneak - He has a one-time immunity to a Master of Whispers scan (will appear as a Loyal). No active powers.

Lord in Waiting – He can ask the role of a dead Loyal each night (same powers as Silent Sister).

The Red Man – The Traitors do not know The Red Man is a Traitor. The Red Man knows the other Traitors, however. If another Traitor is lynched (up to 3 times), The Red Man reanimates them, allowing that traitor to take out anyone of his/her choosing before being overwhelmed (death). If the target of the reanimated Traitor had protection the previous night, the attack fails. If The Red Man is the last Traitor lynched, no reanimation occurs.* If the other Traitors attack The Red Man at night, they will be informed by The Red Man of R'hollor's powers and will be able to PM with The Red Man for the remainder of the game.*

    * If the Lord in Waiting, the Sneak and the Dirk were killed before finding The Red Man, then The Red Man takes over the role of nightly killings. If The Bought Man has switched sides and is still alive, The Red Man still gets to choose the nightly victim. The Red Man can reanimate The Bought Man if he has switched sides. The Bought Man only takes over if he is the only one remaining. The Red Man and The Bought Man cannot PM, even if they are the last two Traitors left.

Order of Traitor succession for kills:
Lord in Waiting > The Dirk > The Sneak > The Red Man > The Bought Man

    Private Messaging

    - Lord in Waiting, the Sneak and The Dirk can PM each other at all times.

    - The Red Man may start PMing all other Traitors (except The Master of Whispers of course) when and only when the Traitors make contact by attempting to kill The Red Man.

    - The Bought Man and The Dirk may PM each other only when one of them makes contact.

    - The Bought Man may NOT PM the other Traitors (other than The Dirk) even after making contact.

    - No Loyals may PM each other at any time EXCEPT the handmaidens.

    - Everyone: no PMs allowed (other than the relationships listed above) except to the GG.

    Miscellaneous

Each night the specials will submit their requests even if they choose to do nothing it must be submitted, except for the Traitors who MUST kill each night.

    Possible Outcome of Events
    - Lynching: Player was a Loyal or a Traitor (The Master of Whispers will be found to be a Traitor).
    - Master of Whispers scan: Player is Loyal or a Traitor. (The Bought Man is human even if he has defected but she will sense that he is helping the Traitors)
    - Silent Sister scan: Player is role x.
    - Faceless Man scan: Players x,y,z were the target of good actions.
    - The Dirk/The Bought Man scan: Player is or is not The Dirk/The Bought Man.
    - Lord in Waiting scan: Player is role x.

    - The Vulture protects a Traitor (except The Bought Man and the Master of Whispers): The Vulture dies. Traitor killing is overridden (only one death that night).
    - The Vulture protects a Loyal (or The Master of Whispers) and Traitors attempt to kill said Loyal: No deaths that night.
    - Traitors attempt to kill The Red Man. The Red Man, the Lord in Waiting and The Dirk are told what happened and no deaths that night.
    - The Dirk or The Bought Man find each other. Killing still occurs. It will be publicly announced during the next day by the GG that the Loyals have a Traitor among them.

    Order of events
    Night-time:
    1. The Vulture protects.
    2. The Silent Sister, the Master of Whispers, the Faceless Man and the Lord in Waiting scan.
    3. Traitors kill.
    4. The Dirk scans for The Bought Man.
    5. The Bought Man scans for The Dirk.

    Day-time:
    1. Maester resurrection.
    2. Vulture protection against reanimation attack, if applicable.

Answers to all scans will be given immediately before the next day starts.

Lynching votes: Time-limited at the gamemaster's discretion.

Please bold your votes AND withdrawals.

No post-editing permitted during the game.*

*Exception: if you are maintaining a vote count, your post MAY be edited.

I really liked the structure of Ravenvii's last game but please note the important changes.

The specialists' (and their ability to PM) have been dissolved. Identification of those lynched has been absorbed in the silent sister (undertaker) and new Faceless Man role.

The Red Man (typically seen as kamikaze) allows ANOTHER lynched bad guy to take someone out. If he's the last bad guy to go, no kamikaze attack. I haven't decided if this should be one or two time use.

No problem. Medieval fantasy setting is all you really need to know. Opening narrative will expound on the roles of some to explain their backgrounds.

As a side note, I'm attempting to come up with rules for a slight alteration to the WW game. Once I finish them up (it'll be a while) I'll post them for feedback. It will be somewhat Clue-like, allow people to live a bit longer (hopefully!) and while normal citizens won't have powers, the game format will lend to some public information to be given so they can actually participate instead of just being werewolf fodder and making completely blind guesses. I think so far I've trashed 4 roles completely that I made and completely revamped the rest at least twice. Still a long way to go though plus I want to run some simulations to ensure the odds aren't tipped too far to one side. And if nobody likes it when I finish it then.... I'll just take my football and go home! :D

    ----------

If he is the last to go, wouldn't the kamikaze already have happened via a prior bad guy dying? It sounds like the only thing that should stop him is if he is the first bad guy to get lynched since he has nobody to reanimate and can't reanimate himself.

OR they haven't found him (attempted to kill him).

    Welcome back.

Fair warning. I carpet-bombed a lot of the old regulars. Trying to get people interested again.

Work? I have better things to do!

    Thanks for waiting!

    ----------

Besides, just curious: is it necessary that we start with a night? Just asking in favor for QoS, she'd be REALLY pi**ed dying that early!

I think it should if The Red Man gets two attempts (which I find a nice addition).

    Questions:

    - I take it that The Silent Sister / Lord in Waiting isn't told the specific role of a dead player, just like last game? I didn't understand that actually. Which notification would the LiW and SS receive when scanning the MoW? Both 'Traitor' or 'Good Traitor'? The first would mean an advantage for the Traitor-fraction, since they'd know that it must be the MoW then.

    - Is protection extending into the day or does it cease after the night it was given?

    - If I understood SilentPanda correctly, he handed in some Kill-requests before the night actually started. Is that possible for The Red Man as well? I'm just asking because of the different time-zones we're playing in (also because it seems lot's of people here haven't got time to follow constantly because of work, kiddos, alcohol or marriages), so if I were The Red Man and see my fellow Traitor in a i.e. 4-4 tie and about to be lynched, can I send in the PM already? I would like that to be possible.

I'll give this a go and try to stay up to speed.

Didn't see that in the rules (is it there?). My thought was that he can still reanimate even if the traitors don't know who he is. The Red Man doesn't actually do anything in the game except if he's alive, he would reanimate the first (and possibly second) traitor to get killed. Therefore it's in the Loyals best interest to kill the Red Man first so he can never use his power. I don't care which way it goes, but I think this should be clarified in the rules.

What was I supposed to wait for?

It's my understanding the The Red Man does not choose anything. He reanimates the first traitor that gets lynched (it'd be in his best interest since otherwise the Red Man might die the next day and be unable to use it). The reanimated traitor picks the target of the killing, not the Red Man. So if you felt you were going to die and the Red Man was still alive, I don't see any reason you couldn't send a PM saying, "If I die, kill player X". Of course my understanding may be completely wrong.

Ooooo..... I haven't played this for a long while. I'll pass this time and just follow the game to get back up to speed but will probably participate in the next one.

    Loving it! :D

    Winter's my last name. ;)

I think you misunferstood my question: The Red Man 'chooses' the Traitor to get reanimated, as in sends a PM to the GG in time so that the reanimation occurs. It would be convenient if that could be done in advance, because otherwise I, The Red Man, could be asleep here inEurope while you, a fellow Traitor, gets lynched in the US.

Gotta be faster with the in's!

Nowhere in the rules does it state that the Red Man select who he reanimates. It says if a traitor is lynched, he reanimates them. My assumption is he reanimates the first one (and the 2nd one if he can do it twice). But maybe I'm being too literal.
