OK, I was just a normal villager. Tomorrow wasn't someone I suspected right away and we lost our hunter on the first night which didn't help but I had great fun, this game you know, actually requires thinking:p so I would love another game of this:)

Well, it's even funner if more people sign up. I'm used to having like 20 people play. Anyway, make a post for a new game and see what happens.

That sounds like a blast! Want to start the thread? I'll can do it and I can PM SouthernDad if he wants to play next game.

Thanks for running a great game Rick and QoS. I liked the two game god method.

Indeed. I haven't had this much suspense in any game I've played before plus the narration was great!

The game was very, very good, - well done villagers, and very well played.

The narration and backstories were excellent (thanks, again, Queen of Spades - both rick snagwell and QoS ran an excellent game jointly); my thanks, too, to Tomorrow - he cannot have been thrilled to receive a last minute infection but he played absolutely brilliantly and almost redeemed the position of the WWs, managing, singlehandedly, to bring it right down to the wire.

I held off killing Koodauw because he had been killed off early (and usually unfairly) in so many earlier games; such sentiment will not stay my hand in future outings, should the mantle of WW fall upon me.

Plutonius -often semi-detached - played an excellent game, as did Koodauw. Congrats to you both; I had assumed - erroneously, as it transpired - that with Moyank and DP both successfully disposed of, our greatest threats had been neutralised; it was not to be.

For myself, even though I was (am) on leave, I was snowed under with unexpected work deadlines, and was only able - after the first day - to devote the bare minimum of attention to the (demanding) role of Alpha WW.

Nice, too, to see a number of newbies in the game; sometimes, as the old hands have come to know one another pretty well, matters can become - if not exactly predictable, at least, somewhat unsurprising, or lacking the unexpected - and the addition of a few new faces (and unpronounceable and impossible-to-spell names) brought a welcome freshness and randomness to the whole enterprise.

Once again, one and all, very well done, and my warm thanks again, to rick and QoS both of whom did brilliantly.

Epilogue

Willamette Valley, Oregon
October 13, 1843

Telly (Plutonius) closed his eyes and let the afternoon sun wash over him for a moment. He inhaled the fragrant scent of wildflowers and smiled contentedly. They had arrived in Oregon at long last, and the relief was so great it radiated from within. Since they had discovered Henry’s (Tomorrow) plot to kill them all and continue to Oregon with their provisions, things had settled down to the point where they no longer half-slept with knives at the ready.

The Kirksvillians were now a mere trio – Telly, Nash, and Josiah were all that was left of the original band of twelve. The final leg of the journey had forged a strong bond between them, and all three had vowed to keep the memories of their fallen comrades alive.

They had slept fitfully in a meadow the previous night, and were now in the process of staking their claim to a vast section of land near to what was a blossoming new town. After much discussion and disagreement, Telly, Nash, and Josiah had decided to go into business together and this was day one of what would surely be another shared adventure.

With any luck, Kirksville Tavern would open before the next round of Oregon settlers arrived.

The loyals have won the game and reached Oregon safely.

END.

----------

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for participating and making it an entertaining game to run. Special thanks to those of you who really tried to embrace the narrative, you made it fun for me. All of your kind comments were very much appreciated! And thanks to rick for being a great partner throughout. :)

Tomorrow wasn't someone I suspected right away

Well, I wasn't a werewolf right away. :p So you shouldn't have.

my thanks, too, to Tomorrow - he cannot have been thrilled to receive a last minute infection but he played absolutely brilliantly and almost redeemed the position of the WWs, managing, singlehandedly, to bring it right down to the wire.

It was quite a challenge - when you get infected, the only other WW immediately gets lynched, and it's you against six villagers, the odds are pretty formidable. I didn't expect to get as far as I did; indeed, I was possibly one ninja'd post from actually pulling it off. But the villagers played extremely well. Kudos to the winners. :)

Don't feel bad. Like I said in the beginning, someone would be crazy to pick me for infection. This is one of the few games I actually survived till the end.

Apologies to Moyank for my post (I can see her shouting at the computer if she was following the game). She was the hunter :D.

As far as Astroboy, I didn't suspect him. I voted for him since at least one new player would be the WW and to get him involved (it's fun to make a new player squirm :) ). When he didn't reply, I got suspicious.

No worries Pluto! It was a smart move and I understood why you did it!

Queen and Rick, you guys did awesome! I'm just sorry I wasn't able to participate in it for as long as I wanted to. The personal PM's were extremely well thought out and just top notch all around Queen. As, of course, were the narratives. Well done!

And, SS - I'm keeping my eye on you!!! :D

True:p but I meant near the end. Before getting killed by you:)D) I was still thinking it was between Koodauw and Pluto.

i gotta give the MVP to koodauw, its like he saw the roles! he was on point, just no1 would listen to him or he thought too hard and changed his mind...

awesome to sit back and watch how it works when you know the roles!

sweet job QOS, very entertaining!

whose next!? i wanna play!

I am so very up for another game!

Wait, I have to respond within minutes to be believable?
I did panic though... Tried to figure out a way to make it look like it wasn't me but there wasn't much to work with and I am not as experienced as many of you. Good game though!

I voted for you on 3:15pm 4/22/14 (post 135) and asked everyone again to vote for you 10:03pm 4/22/14 (post 157). You responded 11:35pm 4/22/14 (post 167). The problem was that you should have responded earlier to my original vote instead of waiting since it gave you the appearance of trying not to be noticed :D.

The way to find WWs is to put on some pressure and see how they react. You did very well in the game for a newer player.

i was thinking of running a game based on the Mistborn universe, with Allomancer characters and metal burning as basis of powers.
however, i need to get together most of the base narrative before hand or i won't have time during the game.
and QoS set a pretty high standard with this game!

it would be a game for exactly 17 players, largely following our standard blueprint, but with abilities tweaked to match the allomantic powers, and a couple of new ones.

Ah. What an excellent idea.

Actually, I am a rather enthusiastic fan of the Mistborn universe, very clever, well written and well conceived world building; indeed, the original trilogy (and its - for now, - sole offspring) are among some of my very favourite books of fantasy from recent years.

Again, QoS & rick, congrats on an excellent game, one where it was evident that a huge amount of work was put into it, and where you both showed fairness but exercised good control as well.

I liked the idea of the strongly drawn characters, and certainly enjoyed briefly attempting to 'get into' the role a little.

Again, Koodauw and Plutonius were excellent on The Other Side, and Tomorrow outstanding on ours.

Moyank: Normally, I deeply dislike ordering the death of a fellow feminist, but what could I do? Apologies, but needs must, and all that. Anyway, the game goes on.

I guess I get no credit for leading the vote for Tomorrow at the end.

Er, from me, the Alpha WW [emeritus]? Um, why, if I may make so bold as to ask?

Never even noticed, as I was briefly - very briefly - checking in - and my main focus (nay, my sole, narrow, intense focus) was on whether Tomorrow - bless him - would manage to survive another day….in a fight or contest which he had not chosen but had been pitch-forked into at my instigation…...

As I was extremely busy, and out of the game early, I merely checked to see what was going on in the main narrative. I did not pay it close heed. My thank you are to my fellow WWs, Tomorrow and Astroboy, and to those who ran the game so well, QoS and rick. Congrats are in order to the victors.
