is this real?
nice.... can't read exif data....;)

How can you even considerate it being real?

It's obvious as **** that it's a fake, or not even a fake, just a joke.

As if it would be the first phone ever with Copy & Pase, MMS and so on. Can't you see the irony?

I agree too that there is too much about the iPhone. Yeah, its a great product, but what about Macs (gosh darn it). :apple:

And I hope Snow Leopard makes it out before Windows 7 (just because).
As for any PeeCee folks here on the forum, get lost! (Still can't figure why PC people would even care to join a Mac forum, just to be a troll... I am not on a single Windows forum!)
I'm looking forward to Snow Leopard, not Windows 7 (the Mac OS X UI clone - yeah, it is - just not as good).

First, most iPhone users are Windows and this site is a pretty excellent source of iPhone news and rumors even if you don't care about the Mac news. Second, 7 (and Vista, for that matter) is not even close to a "clone" of the OSX interface unless your ignorant fanboy brain thinks Apple has exclusive rights to transparencies.

Just looking at the news section's first page, roughly one out of ten is about Mac's. The other nine is about the 'Picture Book Phone'...

I wish it was the other way around.

light-years fast? lol so its "miles fast"?

hilarious.

Let's say you are in a race with competitors and you are at a further distance in the same amount of time. (Or in this case what it is actually saying is they have gone so far in apps in only a year). What does that tell you about your velocity? FYI v=d/t.

something to do with Apple TV

Apple has been pushing this "Future" thing.. Time machine, the light years ahead. I personally think we'll also see something to do with a media center or internet media storage... somthing along those lines.. Maybe even a refresh of the apple TV hardware or even just software.

It'll all be green (Jobs stated in his green letter "By 2010, Apple may be recycling significantly more than either Dell or HP as a percentage of past sales weight.")

no. the 3g icon on the status bar is the old one.
Like Apple can't revert anything. Right. Not that I am counting on it, but boy would that be something... and then I seriously have to question if I need a new iPhone, or not. But I would probably say: "No thanks" and get something else in return for it ;)

What are you even talking about? That picture is fake. End of story.

As for the rest of your post: WTF?

inches, feet, or otherwise miles have never been used as a measurement of speed, and the mock poster is thusly incorrect.

light years are a measure of length or distance. A measure of speed should be LPH, or light-years per hour or something of the sort.

In the equation that you posted, FYI, d = light-years, t = one julian year, v = ?

The earth's revolution takes 1 year to complete, which is the claim in the original banner. (one year later...)

1 revolution = 942,000,000 kilometers
1 light-year = 9.4605284 × 10^12 kilometers

Thus, Apple has traveled 10,043.0238 light years in the past year (d), and are 10,043.0238 light years ahead

if t = 365.25 days, then v = (10,043.0238)/365.25,

THUS! Their velocity would be approximately 27.5 LPD or light-years per day! :p

That is probably one of the more bizarre analogies I've heard to describe that iPhone! Although I do understand where you're coming from -- as much as I love my iPhone, I'm starting to miss the days of even just a few years ago, where it was *really* Mac rumors that were in the air. But the iPhone came in, and became super popular, and I'm afraid me and my love for my Mac are being forgotten. I hope I'm wrong in that statement, but I just want Apple to prove their dedication to still making the Mac the best it can be. And still be the backbone for the company.

Ziggyonice,

I'm right with you. Sounds like my attempt at an analogy was confusing. What I meant was to communicate is that I too am frustrated with the iPhone's having stole the Mac's thunder so thoroughly on this forum and elsewhere (no offense to MacRumors, which I enjoy checking daily).

The iPhone and iPod Touch are neat for what they do, but my heart is with the Mac proper. Like many of you, I've owned macs since I was a kid, and followed their development ever since.

Hoping Snow Leopard gets some attention at WWDC.

All in all, if this banner is just referring to the App Store, I'll be really sad.

I just want a new Mighty Mouse. Something similar to the multi-touch mock-up that's been floating around the interwebs lately.

The whole of WWDC will focus on firmware 3.0, the new iPhone and a preview of Snow Leopard. Any slight speed bumps or changes to the rest of the Mac line won't even warrant an announcement. The Apple Store would just go down one Tuesday over the next couple of weeks and come back with a few little changes.

Nothing to get exited about, but I'll be sat here watching it in about 13 hours...

It's so sad how you always get to read 'may' instead of 'will' when it comes to 'green' speak... :(

Wonder what the stockholders would say if i.e. Apple said 'We may have some profit in the coming year'?!

It would sure be nice to see some godd*mn commitment to the environment sometime!

Yeah a new "balless" might mouse would rock

Sure do!

Then again, compared to Apple's whitey mouse anything else would rock too! :p
