CNN App is streaming the keynote in CNN TV LIVE section of APP

1 hour into the game, i don't really want to join in now ;) but thanks for the info
i also don't really like the livestreams, the final videos uploaded by apple are of a higher quality and show the presentation slides which is a big plus imho

I think I agree with you

BTW, I think the France vs England was pretty entertaining, what do you guys think?

It was.

I have been so conflicted. England or Apple. Turns out England won so I am waiting for the video to be posted!

I am no "*******" passing off known information - I've just posted my own predictions. So no, I did not infringe any "thread rules" within the context above.

Not saying you are. But don't you get how posting your own speculations kinda breaks the 'no speculation' rule? It might be a rule you consider really dumb. Fair enough. But that's what this thread is about 'no spoilers'.

please learn to read. the rule says "No posting speculation about what Apple is posting." with a reason why this is disallowed afterwards. It does not say *******s who post announcements as speculation are not allowed to post speculations. nobody is allowed to post speculations, not even you.

I won't extend the argument here - you have just confirmed my point, although your reading skills are lacking.

The reason why the above would be disallowed is exactly to stop people in the know from posting something as speculation. If you are not of them, the rule is void...period. Pure speculation (which is ignorant in nature) doesn't affect at all the thrill of waiting for the keynote stream.

yea of course ...

No, you're misinterpreting the spirit of the rule - which is not to post speculation. But let's just agree to not do it again and all move on :)

Quick question: how many minutes is the keynote supposed to last? 120 or 180?

Edit: 90, 120 or 180?

It is scheduled for 90 minutes. However, last year's keynote was set for 90 minutes, but ended up being two hours. The keynote was posted just over an hour after the keynote ended.

Is it too much speculation if I say it will last 120 minutes? We could make bets!
How long will it be?
When will the video be online?

I say 120 minutes and by 23 pm (that's GMT+1 so 4 hours after the keynote started)

Lol, rookie mistake.

I don't get why people can grasp the concept of what were doing here. It's quite simple. We see the keynote like a summer blockbuster. No one wants the movie spoiled. What it someone told you the ending to Dark Knight Rises right now.

Bruce Willis dies at the end.

Lets just go forward with these rules for the thread:
- No posting official announcements related to Apple (duh)
- No posting speculation about what Apple is posting. Given the event has already started, we don't want any ******s who already know what Apple has already announced and pass it off as "speculation" and just say they're really good as guessing when we call them out on it...
- No posting anything like "it's over now." Personally, I like knowing how long the event is going to be (so I know whether I have enough free time to watch it start to finish in one sitting,) but I know some other people consider even the duration of the keynote to be a spoiler.

Let's just assume the keynote will be over in 1.5 hours and the video will be online in 3-12 hours.

I did NONE of the above and my post was still deleted - I simply posted my own predictions without any knowledge whatsoever...what the heck?

Your post is back, as it was mis-identified as a spoiler. I personally see no problems with people speculating, but it has to be plainly stated that it is speculation.

Thanks again, MAFlynn, and sorry for the misunderstanding.

My post was ENTIRELY based on ignorant speculation from me - absolutely no prior knowledge whatsoever (which would, of course, defeat the purpose of this thread as discussed above).

Again, my apologies to all for any confusion and thanks for putting it back.
