Gah!

Why has bookmark syncing failed me!

I deleted the MR homepage from my news folder on my MBA, and it was removed as it should have been from my iPhone, but when I went on my iMac and clicked on my news folder, it sprung open MR anyways!

I can confirm that someone from MR is putting live updates on the page, but I command w'd the page to close it before I could read a single word.

So... I'm safe! So far. MR has now been manually removed from my news folder on my iMac and Voidness's keynote checker has been added.

(For those that missed the prior links but have read to post #103 anyways, here's a link to Voidness's keynote checker, again: http://insightview.com/keynotechecker/ . There are never spoilers on the page. Keep it open in the background and it'll pop up an alert window with a link directly to the keynote video as soon as it's available.)

As I predicted in another thread, people are surely in for a big disappointment if they continue reaching for the stars. Once more, here is my take on it (I will only be watching the announcements later today through this spoiler-free link):

- MBP 17" OUT;
- Updated Mac Pros, just normal improvements and NO redesign;
- Merging of the MBA 13" and the MBP 13" with no optical drive;
- MBP 15" as the ONLY MBP with optical drive;
- introduction of retina display on the MBA 11" ONLY (forget about the others, no industrial scale to do so, not to mention that current iMac displays are already retina by the marketing definition used by Apple, i.e., no visible pixels);
- Updated iMacs, NO redesign, just normal improvements;
- ATV with app access/API;
- The usual blabla on ML and iOS 6, no major breakthroughs;
- No updates to the Mac Mini.

You read it here first...:rolleyes:

So, I decided to do it to. All Live in the end, no spoilers.
Let's have fun while waiting ;)

People are so funny. This site is called "MacRumors", the whole point of it is to post rumours. If you don't want to get "spoiled" by rumours, don't go on a site with the url "MacRumors".
I've lost count how many times I've read a complaint by someone when MacRumors posts a news item on the front page. Guaranteed a dozen people are gonna post "Why is this here? Is it really a rumour" and then people point out that the site is subtitled "News you care about".
And now we have people complaining that they can't watch an Apple event unspoiled because they've read rumours on a rumour site?
Are you kidding me?

Why can't you comprehend that a rumor is not a spoiler? A rumor is an un-confirmed statement or story. A spoiler is an official announcement.

First time I'm going spoiler free! It feels pretty strange knowing I could easily log into a live blog and find all the answers!

I'm watching the England V France match. I'm welsh, but C'mon england!

Thanks for the link, ArtOfWarfare :D

----------

Heres something funny, I was waiting for kickoff and by 5:30 I thought wow, they are late kicking off, I thought it was 5PM.

I had it on ITV+1 and missed the 1st half

:p

Lets just go forward with these rules for the thread:
- No posting official announcements related to Apple (duh)
- No posting speculation about what Apple is posting. Given the event has already started, we don't want any ******s who already know what Apple has already announced and pass it off as "speculation" and just say they're really good as guessing when we call them out on it...
- No posting anything like "it's over now." Personally, I like knowing how long the event is going to be (so I know whether I have enough free time to watch it start to finish in one sitting,) but I know some other people consider even the duration of the keynote to be a spoiler.

Let's just assume the keynote will be over in 1.5 hours and the video will be online in 3-12 hours.

I feel like being out of date to wait. But I imagine right now my feelings when I'll launch the video... Aw.

Weird Al Yankovic is "live tweeting" the event. Good stuff:

Keynote about to start. Apple CEO Tim Cook is being carried out on stage Cleopatra-style by 6 shirtless muscle men. Provocative! #WWDC

If this is an actual spoiler then we know for sure that Tim Cook is leaving his own mark on the company and not mimicking Jobs.

dammit! I honestly tried, but when i went to macrumors.com i was redirected to macrumorslive.com and i found out about what going to be rolling out :(

That's happen to me before, too. That's why this time I made sure to have this forum up the day before the event, so I could just click on the tab in my browser without going through the main page.

I did NONE of the above and my post was still deleted - I simply posted my own predictions without any knowledge whatsoever...what the heck?

I believe posting your own predictions would fall under the second point
"No posting speculation about what Apple is posting"

Look at what was said above:

"No posting speculation about what Apple is posting. Given the event has already started, we don't want any ******s who already know what Apple has already announced and pass it off as "speculation" and just say they're really good as guessing when we call them out on it..."

I am no "*******" passing off known information - I've just posted my own predictions. So no, I did not infringe any "thread rules" within the context above.

ah, not nice. I hoped for england. The germany - england matches are always fun! But it is not too late to happen yet. Let's hope for the best.
And thanks for this keynote checker!

I checked Facebook [ohgodwhy]

Lol, rookie mistake.

I don't get why people can grasp the concept of what were doing here. It's quite simple. We see the keynote like a summer blockbuster. No one wants the movie spoiled. What it someone told you the ending to Dark Knight Rises right now.

please learn to read. the rule says "No posting speculation about what Apple is posting." with a reason why this is disallowed afterwards. It does not say *******s who post announcements as speculation are not allowed to post speculations. nobody is allowed to post speculations, not even you.

ah, not nice. I rooted for england. The germany - england matches are always fun! But it is not too late to happen yet. Let's hope for the best.
And thanks for this keynote checker!

I also rooted for England, but my predictions so far have fallen far short when compared to my colleagues doing the same...by the way, what a CRAPPY football match - absolutely ridiculous lack of quality by England (and France, for that matter).

It's in times like this that I am proud to be Brazilian - English football is absolutely insipid.
