did we really watch an event where they slightly tweaked existing OS's that could of been a .1 update?

Perhaps better not to compare themselves to SJ with their incremental improvements rather than dramatic new steps

I'm glad that my career as a Mac developer is in the sunset years. I've been doing this since the mid 1980s and each WWDC keeps getting worse. Apple has changed as a company and is no longer product focused.

complete disappointment. zero interesting things about iPad os given the m1 introduction, didn't even address increasing the memory beyond current limit. With the exception of some items for Xcode / dev that's exciting, all the os enhancements are major yawn...

That’s a lot of really neat stuff. My biggest disappointment is iPadOS. I really thought that they might bring Final Cut and/or Logic to the iPad. I was thinking of buying the M1 iPad Pro, but there isn’t a great reason to buy one of those over the iPad Air IMO.

Wow, no new hardware. 2 guesses: (1) hit hard by chip shortage and/or (2) they want to wait for the fall, which I bet will be in person, so they can really show off the hardware and redesign.
