M1 and more RAM in the ipads looks like it's just for longevity, which Apple are good at as they support their devices for a long time. General consumers are not looking to replace their devices every year or even every couple of years. Today's Pro will run for 5 years no sweat and will give the owner positive feelings to owning Apple hardware when they do upgrade. That is all.

Meh. I'm sure I'll like some of it, but I won't use most of it.

wait wait wait.

I don't even care about the new hardware, what did I just witness?

did we really watch an event where they slightly tweaked existing OS's that could of been a .1 update?
This event wasn't for you. Developers have good use for this type of event. I wonder if Apple will make a dedicated keynote called World Wide Developer Conference so developers can learn about new functions in Apple's OS's to create and update their apps for. Nah, it'll never take off...

it's a software developer oriented week, so this doesnt surprise me, especially after last year's event when everyone was sure there was an iMac refresh happening (that didnt until late summer). very excited about Live text, the security features, and Mac OS's seamless work space (forgot what they called it).

I really believe Apple should start spacing out their software updates a little more. These huge software dumps are cool, but they’re hard to process everything. Also, doing it all at once feels like you’re going to need a thick book just to navigate all the new stuff.

Universal Control I believe.
