LOL, I've been using AirDrop since it's birth and have yet to have a single problem. It's one of the huge reasons people love Apple and the ecosystem. It makes switching between devices about a thousand times easier. It's not janky at all.
There is a difference between occasionally janky and broken and stays broken. I don't even put AirDrop in the former category but I'll say it anyway out of "fairness". The latter category is where Synergy and other handoff 3rd party apps live.
The race to the bottom began very quickly with some people being racist and sexist, but the mods deleted those comments fairly quickly.
It's pretty obvious you haven't been an Apple user for very long. I've been Apple exclusive for the past 25+ years and have attended 9 Macworlds. You couldn't be more wrong. He's done some dud shows. And what difference does it make if this keynote was boring or exciting? Does this mean you have zero interest in updating your Apple hardware (provided you have Apple hardware) to any of the new OS's? Was this so boring that it prevented you from updating?
You didn't understand what I wrote. I was saying that in the past OS upgrades past the one that came with your Mac where charged for and not free. For the record SL was only $29 because it was an under-the-hood upgrade to Leopard. There was nothing major to entice customers to pay the full $129 that Mac OS X normally cost.Actually yes it was. You think macOS Snow Leopard for $29 would make up for the entire development cost? The main OS that comes with your mac is included in the price.
No 14/16 inch MBP? no M1X/M2 chip?
sure, but it's been way too long. they made a 16" out of 15" what, a year ago now? where is the 14"?I was saying it earlier. Plus MacRumors even had an article before the event from a reliable leaker saying it wouldn't happen. No reliable leaker was saying it would (Prosser is just a douche, not really reliable).
It was pure common sense. Last 4-5 years, we've seen new MacBooks in October/November time, it will be the same this year.
Swift Playgrounds building apps on iOS 15 is a big deal.I am glad I held onto my 2020 iPad Pro. I agree that there appears to be more under the hood enhancements than anything and that is fine with me. I went into today expecting 1 maybe 2 new key features across all platforms and from what I saw, that is basically what we got. To be fair, Apple has had this kind of head scratching keynote before.
If you've really never experienced a single AirDrop issue then you must either be the luckiest person on earth or you never use it. It's a really good feature and they've made it work a little better in recent years, but there was a period of a few years where it would regularly fail to find devices. I can't believe this is new information for you.LOL, I've been using AirDrop since it's birth and have yet to have a single problem. It's one of the huge reasons people love Apple and the ecosystem. Just because apple didn’t announce it, doesn’t mean that things on the back end didn’t get updated. Tune back later this week.People wanting apple so actually push the software rather than what was possible 4 years ago isn’t some giant ask here. An M1 iPad pro with 16GB of ram is literally useless Right now. The OS only lets devs use 5 GB of that.
New MacBooks will be announced in October/November, so if they're doing that, you will see it then. Not at WWDC which is software related. the rare times hardware was announced, it was more often than not Mac Pro's. I think out of the last 20 years, once was a MacBook. So to expect a new MacBook at WWDC, when it's been October/November like clockwork for 4-5 years or so, is foolish.sure, but it's been way too long. they made a 16" out of 15" what, a year ago now? where is the 14"?

Valid points. I missed the System-wide Notes. That must have been talked about before I got home.Swift Playgrounds building apps on iOS 15 is a big deal.
Widgets and multitasking in iPadOS 15 are a big deal.
System-wide Notes is a big deal.
Shortcuts on the Mac is a big deal.
The Health enhancements on the iPhone are a big deal.
Beyond this, I think that this year is a tuneup year for all platforms. Hopefully, tightening up code and making things more bulletproof.
iPadOS needs the most shoring up in terms of living up to the potential of the M1, which I did not see, this is my only letdown. Everyone with high expectations of hardware should have tempered them with the reality of supply constraints.
I know that there are Pros who need a larger iMac and MacBook Pros, but a lot of people here seemingly just want to be able to brag about things they aren’t going to buy anyways and are mad that didn’t happen.
thank you for being so knowledgeable and condescending.New MacBooks will be announced in October/November, so if they're doing that, you will see it then. On Apple’s Leadership page, you have Lisa Jackson.Oh? Take a look at Apple's Executive board. There is 1 minority, who happens to be Indian, out of all of them. Not a single African American. So much for diversity, eh Mr. Woke?

I also never said anything about the quality of Synergy, I'm just pointing out that you have no earthly idea how well Universal Control will or won't work because you've literally never used it or seen any use outside of a highly controlled and edited non-live promotional event. It's not a representation of real life. Go read about the first iPhone demo and how Jobs had like four devices that he switched between because they kept freezing. Even if there were massive, internally known bugs, Apple would hide them because that's what you do in a demo—you portray the best possible outcome no matter how realistic it is.
Apparently I didn't pay attention all the time...No tvOS update?
Why? No reputable reporters said there was hardware. People getting hyped up for nothing did it to themselves. The software was pretty lackluster but what else do you expect? COVID has pushed a lot of things back, probably including the Macs.It is hard to find words to describe such an epic failure. Perhaps someone else could give it a try but alas it will probably a beta release.
No it’s not strange, hardware is not the norm at WWDC. And how are the M1 Macs a joke for devs? They’re faster than any previous laptop and plenty of devs were using 13” MBPs and Airs before this. Do you think devs are all using high end desktops? It's strange to make a developer conference but do not make Pro machines at all. Current M1 Macs are jokes for devs and other pro's (except writers, maybe).
