That’s what I always thought, yet the dominant opinion on these forums was always “It will not look like that! It will not be ski goggles!” Yet that’s more or less what we got; in fact, the real thing is even bulkier than that ubiquitous render.
I also never thought the $3K price rumor was a fake leak so they could surprise us with a much lower price. And in the last week or so, I started to think it would cost more than $3K and unfortunately, I was right.
Not sure why anyone bought this considering I'm sure facebook is going to be incredibly butthurt about apple making their headsets look like solo hobbist projects.

how about the dumbest rumor of them all: that it would use recycled apple watch bands to hold it on your head.

Maybe original documents were for $3000 but with the past few years inflation they adjusted to $3500?
weren't the rumors by @Analyst941 fed to him by his sister who worked at apple, which were actually designed to find the mole?

I wonder if the insufferable John Gruber will admit that Mark Gurman got it right about the “eye sight” aspect on the front of the device after he shot down the idea of it.

Glad that the vision pro is an independent device not requiring an iPhone or AirPods. 
So in this list of rumors it seems that Kuo and The Information had the most reliable predictions.
I must say that I love that Apple uses design elements on future devices.

“Reality One” is actually the name of the co-processor “R1” that handles the data from the sensors. And the guys though it was the name of the headset…

Predicting $3,000 for a product that comes out at $3,500 feels more like a hit than a miss to me.

How can anybody seriously say that? The supply chain says the parts cost around $3,000 and it's up to Apple to price in their profit.

Yeah that was the things I was looking forward to the most too. I find control center to be a little clunky and not look as nice as it could. And wallet could use some attention too.
