This is a radical prediction. I am sorry if I offend someone. Those squares look quite a bit like pixels. Write the code, change the world sounds like they are talking about software. I know this is pushing it, but I think, they may be talking about computers. :D

The odds are good that any hardware they announce will be a new development platform. I think the odds of a new Apple TV that runs apps (APPle TV?) has better odds. An iWatch would require apps in one way or another, so it has a decent chance. The odds of a new laptop or Mac Mini are low.

I honestly don't see this as a good idea. ARM is meant to power mobile devices, not full blown desktop OSes. That's why Microsoft made Windows RT because Windows 8 couldn't run on ARM. If Apple did that, it would be iOS with a few more OS X features.

Btw... does anyone say the X in OS X as "X" or 10? I usually just say "X", not sure if anyone else does that...

ARM started on the desktop, and may yet return. AMD are looking at using ARM in servers. What something is, and what it can be, are not the same.

This is exciting!

I'm willing to bet though, that "Write the code. Change the world" doesn't refer to iOS or OS X, instead it refers to a new line of software being announced, where devs will be able to code for it.

I think you're half right. How 'bout a new line of software for OSX on ARM???

I disagree... Apple has updated their MacBook Pro's every time at WWDC for the past 2 years. Mac Mini needs a refresh because Apple has refreshed every version of a Mac accept that one in the last 2 years. iMacs, MacBooks, and even the Mac Pro have been updated, so I think that the Mac Mini deserves some love as well.

In regards to the inevitable 'covered' banners, do you think the guys putting them up know what's on them? Or is it a case of, "here's a banner covered in black cloth...attach it to the roof without looking at it please?"

There's plenty of "Caulk" on the floor to mop up after them of they were to "leak"... I mean Peak.

Actually, they are just not allowed off the premises or electronic contact until Monday morning... They have little mini glass Apple cubes for the workers to sleep in. </sarcasm>

Really? I had no idea... I always though AMD invented ARM to use with mobile devices, and that is why nearly every one of them uses ARM as the processor. Thanks for sharing that! :D

Apple does nothing by chance. Nothing is a mistake (except for all the bugs).

Look at the slogan more closely:

Write the code. Change the world.

If this is turned into an initialism, it forms a perfect palindrome—a mirror image:

WTC-CTW

It's the same backward and forward.

Jonny Ive has been working toward that place of absolute perfection, that place of obviousness, where everything but the essence of a product disappears. But until now, there has been a missing piece. He finally "figgered out a way" (as he would put it), to make Apple's products the same backward and forward in a revolutionary new process.

I for one will not be able to sleep.

You're thinking of the current known A7. How about what might be under wraps like a multicore A8 or A9 that could run circles around an A7. Enough to easily power OSX 10.10.

i wouldnt be surprised if its only running apps approved via closed partnerships like nike and other obvious choices in the first gen.

Actually I do agree with you, the cool emoticon wasn't the best to choose.
OS X on arm for low power users might be enough but not for people who do more than just surf the web and use Facebook.
I could see a Macbook Air running OS X (10) on ARM.

Programmers are professionals. (At a minimum, professional programmers are.) Macbook Pro's are professional products. The Mac Pro is definitively a pro product. I don't see many professionals using a Mac Mini. (Perhaps if they are very short.)

Good point. I'm very anxious as well.

Print Vendor

Does anyone know who Apple uses to print all their graphics for the WWDC. Banners, and stuff?

I guess, but if that is the case, they need to utilize that in iPhones, iPod Touches, and iPads as well.

So, just showing the profile of the top of the Apple logo looks a lot like a heart to me.....Health? Other than that, I can't read anything obvious into it this year.

EDIT: Or this just came to me....Heart-BEAT(S)? (by dre)

Hell, the A7 is already slightly ahead of the Intel Core 2 Duo powering this Dell I'm typing on.....better geekbench scores for the A7.

And nothing on the iPhone or iPad uses the A7 to its full potential. That's why I've been telling people not to fret if Apple doesn't release a NEW 4" iPhone....the 5S will be a powerhouse for quite some time.

I'm sure the A8 is going to be a beast. And will likely power SOMETHING in the Macbook lineup.....(my guess is the Airs move to ARM, the Pros stay Intel).
