Slow news day....
True, that's a good guess.
Apple has only updated the MacBook Pros at WWDC in 2009 and 2012. Last year, only the Air saw an update and in 2011 the conference was solely ::gasp:: software only. Given that it is a DEVELOPERS conference, it's not far fetched to assume that we might not have any hardware present at all.
Final Cut Pro X was not announced at WWDC 2011 and Logic Pro X was not announced at WWDC 2013. They were announced very close to their respective WWDC dates, but not as part of those events. Jus' sayin'.
'Write the code'
So no hardware at all...![]()
Let the deciphering begin!
But before all that... if you look closely, it says, "Write the code. Change the world".
Could this be some self-effacing irony?
Could the coloured dots represent television pixels??
Could the Apple logo-looking apple be representative of a health product???
Could the banner a representation of our highly mediated world????
!!!

Does anyone know who Apple uses to print all their graphics for the WWDC. Banners, and stuff?
Or Mac mini <-> Apple TV merge..
I have no idea but it may be this design firm?
http://eightinc.com/work/apple/apple-events
We have designed Apples branded exhibitions for over a decade, using vivid graphic elements, intuitive space delineation and interactive product displays to encapsulate the essence of the brand. The Apple MacWorld exhibitions took place in Tokyo, New York, San Francisco, Paris and were supported by 25+ venues globally. Weve been involved in every global product launch to-date.
At the risk of sounding like a broken record (or perhaps an improperly terminated MP3 file for the youth around here),
Write the code change the world for the new Apple TV App Store!
ARM is slow because people have implemented ARM for low power applications. X86 is CISC, ARM is RISC. RISC is inherently faster than CISC. This is why all modern X86 chips convert X86 instructions into ARM like RISC code before execution. That conversion takes time.
Just about all of the researchers working on the structure's of the next generation of super processors, the ones designed to run the super computers of tomorrow are basing their designs off of ARM or ARM like chips. Even the people at Intel who are working on the next generation of high end stuff are starting to license ARM. The only reason anyone uses X86 is compatibility with legacy code.
For WWDC banners I'm sure Apple would design them all and just rock up to a printing company and say -> print this, at that size on this material at this DPI.
Doubt it. They're not going to risk their secrets to some doofus in a print shop!I'm sure they do them themselves.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record (or perhaps an improperly terminated MP3 file for the youth around here), Mac Mini merged with AppleTV marketed as a Steam Machine would absolutely destroy the XBone and give the PS4 a serious run for its money.
Do it, Apple! Don't fear the Pippin! Call the new one the Mac Merry, symbolizing fun, mirth, reliability, steadfastness, and another member of the fellowship!
- Write the code could be a new Xcode.
- Write the code could be a developer SDK for the AppleTV so we have apps for it.
- The colour gradient, blue to red to orange to yellow could be colours of a new product.
- The dots could be an Apple television as said above or more retina screen talk.
- The dots could be an Apple 4k monitor.
- The size of the Apple (so large it won't even fit on the banner) could mean this whole keynote and WWDC is part of a greater whole.
- Change the world could be Apple has plans to announce something that is not really profit driven. Some scheme to really help the world. They have enough cash to do so.
- Does the skinny font (from iOS) mean that font will be used more in OS X
- Change the world, could this be the OS post OS X? Ie OS 11 or similar?
- Could change the world be wearable technology? Just like changing your clothes you change your wearable tech too.
- Change the world could be expanding touch ID to all iOS devices and possibly even to Macs.
- Change the world could be radical changes to the Mac Mini. Possibly even removing the low end headless Mac totally. That would be hard keeping the Mini's price points and including a screen as amazing as the iMac screen.
- Change the world could be Apple Spaceship campus talk.
- All this colour could mean Aperture Pro X. It's bound to come as we already have LPX and FCPX.
Just some ideas I've had.
The day Apple (i.e. Jonathan Ive) uses Neue Helvetica properly is the day I'll upgrade to iOS 7 or 8 or 9 or 10.... It's too thin against that background! Get a clue. (I know, I know, who cares about readability and legibility as long as it's trendy!) I guess we can kiss that Macintosh User Interface Guide goodbye forever.
