Maybe the reason iLife is taking so long is because it too will have a Windows version.

I don't see that happening. I think iLife is taking so long because they want to be able to use the new Leopard features, such as CoreAnimation. iLife is one of the reasons (and a good one, I might add) for going to a Mac.

I guess I'm the only one who hasn't had any problems with Safari for Windows. It works great and it renders some pages so much faster than Opera or Firefox. Anyway, I'm so impressed with it that I'm going to be switching to Mac soon. My only concern is that I'll make the switch and then Apple will finally make a new hardware announcement the next day. I was hoping for some hardware announcements at WWDC.

I don't see this happening either. This is one of those "mac only" suite of applications that is supposed to bring people to the Mac and therefore drive hardware sales.

I think the only reason that they brought out Safari on Windows is to hopefully pump up their market share of the browser business to:
1) pressure web designers to TEST their sites on Safari and make their sites work on Safari
2) maybe they have some joint venture in the works with Google that this will leverage.
3) maybe with Safari being on the iPhone, they want iPhone users to WANT to use Safari on the PC. Why? Maybe #2 above?

I downloaded Safari for Vista, and I have been using it for the past days.

Overall, a decent beta, I think.

However, there are a couple of things I hope Apple will improve upon before the final release:

1. The window borders look abit odd. You can only resize Safari window using the square bottom right corner of the window.

2. The resizing of the window is slow -- noticeably slower than IE or Firefox.

3. The text fonts looks kinda fuzzy.

Again, I think given that it is a beta, it is decent. It is quite promising. If Apple can hammer out a good final version with improvements to the above areas, I will easily switch to Safari as my default browser in Vista.

I downloaded both Mac and Vista version for my machines immediately. On my decent MacBook, Safari 3 is really great because it supports Google Docs & Spreadsheets now! On my desktop Windows, it works just like a mess. It does not correctly render most Chinese (both Simplified & Traditional) characters, perhaps the same for Japanese characters too.

Not fair

Fair enough Apple want to increase an awareness to Safari, but common, it should be just available for Mac! It has been since day one... Windows users don't deserve to have the fabulous works for Mac computers... :(

Eh, they already had QuickTime and iTunes. Nothin' wrong with giving them another browser choice, although it definitely did come as a huge surprise to me when they released it for Windows.

Language Problems

Apple have said that they will release an update soon to fix international problems(Language)...
